  1. Usually the names of the Speedorz sets have nothing to do with the minifig included. Skinnet's Speedor set is a prime example, and Furty's would have implied that it was a Croc Speedor had there been no pictures. The Bear/Beaver mystery is a tough one, considering there is one set with a minifig starting with the letter B, yet no way to tell which tribe it comes from. One thing is for certain, though. We will have Rhinos.
  2. I wonder if we will see this shady character in the next wave? That is, of course, if he isn't a character that we already know in disguise
  3. If I understand this correctly we have Lions, Bears, Rhinos, and Scorpions! I was not expecting the latter at all! I'm actually looking forward to them. Now what about Speedorz. Are the Legend beasts all that we are going to have now?
  4. From the play perspective, that is very true. However, I would say that the spinners have the upper hand with a game that isn't, shall we say "rinse and repeat," what with the different actions on the play cards, as apposed to worthless "CHI Points" that can potentially ruin the play factor of successfully passing a Speedorz hazard (i.e. succeeding on the Nest Dive, which is a nigh impossible feat, only to lose to your opponent getting a better card).
  5. At least these kids aren't as frightening as the kid in most of the Ninjago (year 1) promos or the Gagne! kid that adorns the back covers of our instruction booklets. It would be nice to have a set only backing on the Speedorz packs, though. There was just something about Ninjago's Spinner backings that just seemed more appealing. Anyway. I saw the Lion CHI Temple displayed at the Lego Store yesterday and I have to tell you, it is massive! Can't wait to get my hands on that one (and what a long mini-review that will be! )!
  6. Any word on spinners? I'm not very hopeful, but I thought that I should ask.
  7. I just started watching Fairy Tail and I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Interesting concept of a world where magic users are as common as coffee drinkers (so to speak).
  8. I think the 'Hundred Year Moon was the best episode so far. I wasn't irritated by kiddie stuff at any moment.
  9. The Beacons of Burrium have been lit in the honor of the Fallen Trian Burress. Owlan is certainly not out. With the recent events Burrium is sprawling with tourists looking for something for... the dead Dugal MacLean. Our paintings (pictures) of Owlan's recent adventure have been delayed due to traffic. Expect some sort of an update soon.
  10. You should have seen the elaborate attempts that kid in CM4S' quote made to make them seem real. If I remember right there was something about robotic PWR Armor (worn casually by the Ninja), and Nya and Jay's marriage (and children nearly an "episode" after). This person also had Lord Garmadon as the main villain throughout the entirety of Season 2 (no Overlord. The Season was also classified as "Season 3" even though there were only two seasons with a pilot episode and six shorts preceding them). Outrageous child/early teen fanon knows no bounds. I cannot enjoy fansites for MLP or Sonic the Hedgehog due their outrageous prominence. Back on topic here. You can only trust news from viable sources, set images and movie/video game footage. And here is hoping that the usual preliminary set list that appears around this time every year will shed some light, leading to the eventual preliminary images that will appear in mid-/late-September.
  11. Now that we are up and running again, let's share some usernames. Mine is the same as in the above quote. Also, am I the only one who doesn't have the full screen option highlighted anymore?
  12. If only Lego Universe had those membership prices. Maybe... maybe it would still be here. I'm excited to dive in!
  13. The amount of Lego school supplies I've seen this year is tremendous. I'm primarily seeing Chima, but Friends and Ninjago are also mixed in.
  14. At the moment, The Lego Movie is being considered a Special Theme, and has a thread dedicated to it, and another for its CMF series in the Special Themes Forum.
  15. Page 101 of this very thread.
  16. This thread put a nostalgic smile on my face. Being such an immense fan of the classic Lego PC games, I would have eaten up Lego Logic. It's funny, though. I thought Lego Island was the only game to get sets later than the corresponding game. Little did my young self know that without those PC games, 3 of my favorite late 90's themes wouldn't have existed! Time to pull out the 'ol PC games.
  17. We've had those images available for quite a while now.
  18. It is very common for cartoons to take a small break during the season for repeats. This is usually to keep the show promoting the sets for a longer period of time.
  19. $70. I have never brought myself to do it, but I have considered it.
  20. Just got Royal Roost today. The Royal Roost is a basic knock-down Speedorz set, that, although has specific ramps, does not require articulate aiming (like the dreaded Nest Dive) meaning that it can be toppled over from any direction with enough momentum from the Speedor. It is a very good thing that the Speedorz' prints do not chip easily as the designs on the golden Defendor II Speedor is fantastic (Eglor's Shreekor 390 is now second place in my book). The cards in which I get these names come from (included in all Speedorz sets) have followed the same pattern according to the numbers on their bottom corners in the Winter/Spring waves. Having OCD, I find this very nice, but with this very Speedor, that pattern is disturbed! The original pattern is character, Speedor, CHI weapon/Constraction, basic weapon, and Power-Upz. In order to follow this pattern of going "by type" Lagravis' cards would need to be in this order: 2, 14, 8, 26, 20. If you wish to follow numerical pattern, his cards follow the order of Character, CHI Weapon/Constraction, Speedor, Power-up, and basic weapon, interrupting the grouped flow. Personally, I prefer the former, but it ultimately is your decision. The cards are also printed on a much more flimsy material (easier to tear, but that isn't from personal experience). But seriously, why will most of us buy this set for in the first place? The answer: Lagravis himself. The minifigure is nice and very detailed as most of the Chima minifigs are. Lagravis' head only features angry and sad expressions, however, leaving him as the only Lion without a calm look. It is a nice print though, don't get me wrong, He comes equipped with a good CHI colored Royal Hakraxx (Crominus' weapon in Cragger's Command ship) garnered with a stud rather than a jewel, and dubbed the Honorous. His basic weapon, is an odd one, being that it is a gold colored weapon, which is usually only common among the CHI Weapons, otherwise known as the Fangjabber. His power-up is just two talons jutting from the back called the Kuttor. Another thing, I might add is, unlike the packaging of the Winter/Spring Speedorz, the back of the packaging offers next to no perforated openings! You have to shred the packaging in order to open the set (not child friendly!) 7/10: Basic Speedorz set. The Speedor and Lagravis make the set just a bit more worth it!
  21. As I always do when I get a new action theme set, it's time for some mini reviews! Crug's Swamp Jet is the cheapest Crocodile centric vehicle out there, but all in all, it's not very interesting. Sure there are some nice Olive parts but you can get the same quantity of these parts in Crawley's Claw Ripper (and then some!). Be that as it may, there is one very key selling point here: this set includes Crug, a Crocodile that, by the looks of it, will only be available in sets that need a serious price adjustment (Lennox's Lion Attack at $25 and the Fall Speedorz Croc Chomp at $15), making this set perfect for the minifig collector who wishes to save as much money as possible. The CHI included in the set is also quite nice, being that it is a prop rather than the vehicle's battery meaning that you don't have to "break" the set in order for a character to have CHI in hand. On the other hand, Eglor's Twin Bike is a different, and confusing, story all together! The only two CHI in the set are not only included in bag one, but also in the instructions as a prop for the minifigures, one for each minifigure to be exact. Sure this seems nice, you have more "prop" CHI, but what's this? In the bag two part of the instructions, you have to plug these CHI into the Twin Bike's suspension! Why waste the ink? I guess that isn't much of a problem, being that this set has only one instruction book for a change. Not to mention an itty-bitty sticker sheet. Per typical building order, you are to build the smaller portion of the set first, in this case being Razcal's Chopper. Let's take a quick break from that and talk just about Razcal here for a minute. He has the new silver armor which is nice, not to mention a nice brick-built bow/blaster, but the instructions have you apply a 1x2 bley plate between his back and his wings. The set later has you apply another 1x2 bley plate to the "cockpit" portion of the chopper. In order to put Razcal into the chopper you need to remove the 1x2/wing combo from his back, and latch him onto the 1x2 of the chopper. Why am I rambling on about this nice feature to keep all the parts together? Well, the headlight parts used on the chopper for the 1x2 plate leaves room for the wings in between the backing and the rotor, sans the 1x2 bley keeping the wings together. This allows him to keep the wings along with him, keeping the minifigure complete while interacting with the set. Personally, I find the latter better, and the extra 1x2 bley plate just a bit of a nuisance. Anyway, besides that very particular nit-pick of mine ( ) the Chopper itself is actually a very nice addition to the set. It is has a very nice size as well as a very basic, yet effective rotor function. Over all, besides not looking like a Raven as the whole Chima Theme promotes, the Chopper still fits quite well into the Raven's fleet (and lonely 4x4). Thank you for making it this far ( ) because it is now time to talk about the main portion of the set! I find myself very partial to transforming Lego sets and this one was no exception, especially since it's an Eagle vehicle (my favorite tribe). The Twin Bike, despite the seemingly massive wheels is particularly small. This is a motorbike, so not that big of a deal, except that $25 price tag on the box... Again, we have a very basic, yet effective function here, as the transformation feature from bike to jet is mainly hinges and a click-turntable. Be that as it may, both forms of the vehicle look quite nice and still accomplish the Eagle look of the set. in either form. However, the clearly Eagle portion of the set is mainly centered around the cockpit, meaning that when Eglor uses the escape pod feature (as we are accustomed to with all Eagle sets), the only Eagle portion of the set is gone, leaving behind two large wheels and a CHI riddled engine. It is a bit disappointing, but I digress. For a bit of trivia, unlike the other Eagle sets, this set only includes one Dark Blue (basic blue) piece besides the typical Technic pins. Eglor, the Twin Bike's pilot, is no different from his Equila's Ultra Striker and Nest Dive counterparts. He wields a yet to be named CHI chain weapon due to the Legend of Chima website's lack of Summer updates. Crug's Swamp Jet 7/10: Not to exciting at $4, but some parts, and Crug in particular are quite nice. Eglor's Twin Bike 8/10: The functions are basic, but the set as whole is very nice. It could have included a bigger Raven vehicle, however, at $25, but what have we come to expect from Chima sets at that price range? Thanks for reading!
  22. An eventful evening! Went to Toys R Us to see if they had any extra promos, but turned up dry. I then decided to stroll the Lego isles, and found them fully stocked with the last of the Summer sets, and Crug's Swamp Jet (Polybag collection now complete! I then went to the Lego store and found them fully stocked with the last of the Summer sets as well. I couldn't resist Eglor's Twin Bike. Summer has officially arrived!
  23. So how in the world does this promo build attach to Eagle's Castle?
  24. I sure hope you can scan those instructions. It would be nice to Bricklink the add-on if I can't make it (or if there are age limits of course ). I'm surprised to already see the Croc Swamp Hideout there! I hope to be heading to my local store some time next week to (finally!! it's been since June!!) buy Royal Roo- *ahem*... something. Another note. Minecraft Micro World has been available at my store for nearly two months. The Hayabusa, however, has not. Has anyone in the Western Hemisphere found Crug's Swamp Jet anywhere? It was on toysrus.com a while ago, but there was never really any reason why. It's the last Poly that I need for Chima and it is killing me!!
  25. It's a royal commode-ity. In all seriousness, Burrium will not have a potential candidate for "Lord of Avalonia." We will show our support to those we find worthy of that title, however. In the mean time we must gather our reigns and organize our priorities, there are freebuilds awaitin'...
