Opening sealed antique sets - wonderful or painful ?
Rook replied to drdavewatford's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego is meant to be played with. If you have boxes just sitting around give them away or start donating more money to other worthy causes. *cough people starving around the world cough* I find people sitting on a cache of mint Lego slightly disturbing. :/ That being said I do own a small pile of sets that I buy to give away. So there are about 5-10 sets that are usually hanging out unopened in my house. ;) -
If we're voting, I'll vote no! XD Some people I know I still have no chance of beating and you're one of them! Your resources are light years beyond mine! :')

It’s Canada, it’s cold 24/7 365. There’s nothing to do but build with Lego. Of course being from Sweden you know that. But at least Sweden is know for having hot chicks too.

Only 3 of the +20 of us are really into Sci-Fi. However Si-MOCs and Rook making Sci-Fi MOCs feels like small army of builders probably. And yeah we did Ad Astra and May the 4th Sick Kids Hosiptal fundraiser, this year already so a couple of our public events have be Sci-Fi related.

At first glace I thought, "Oh no please tell me Jake knows how to spell shuttle." Then I started reading it. Nice. Especially enjoyed the detail of the flags on the wings.

ASK HERE MOC-stuck? Ask for general building advice here!

SNOT the roof. Build walls and ends of the wall with 3x2x1 tall slopes. Using hinges, tilt the 4 walls towards each other until they touch along their out edged slopes. (Similar to what LEGOman said but using bricks instead of plates.) See here it is done inverted coming down from the control room of the Sand Crawler. This isn’t related to what I said but it’s cool: -
The Bug Story: CABGOIII MOC 4 Flickr Gallery Some of the facial detailing, mainly the goggles, was lost when the image was pixilated. I went back in a touched it up a little but not sure which way I like the most.

Yeah I like slipping them into MOCs. Used two Yoda Builds in my last Brickfete MOC.

I’m no mathematician, but I think that’s about only 15 years. Welcome back though.

Brickfête 2012 - Toronto Ontario Canada
Rook replied to Jeff VW's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'll only be able to make it out for an hour or two on Sunday. But I might send some MOCs with fellow ToroLUGers. -
Agreed damage often equals tampered. Never pay more than 80% of the retail on damaged goods. I’ve seen tiny holes in boxes just big enough to remove a few pieces, minifigures, or a single small baggy. And given the right person under the right circumstances you pay for a USC DS and end up with a box of PaB.

Love the use of the 1x1 rounds to tie into the very unusual root pieces!

I'm guessing this falls under Special Themes. Flickr Gallery

Still hoping I can make it for Sunday morning but if not I’ll be there in spirit. -
Nice, I’ve slept in couple of those over the years. My middle brother hiked the whole trail back in 2000. Most of the one's I've stayed in are like this one:

Yo! Fellow GTA’er. Check out the Toronto Lego Stores (Sherway Gardens & Fairview) when you get chance. Also July 14 & 15 you’ll want to bring the girls and maybe the Mrs.’ to the Hilton Hotel by Pearson Airport for Brickfete 2012 (Toronto's Lego Convention). I believe it’s about $10 per person. Also you maybe interested in joining a LUG (Lego User Group). There are a couple in the GTA and several more in Ontario. GTA has 3 main groups: RTL which specializes in Robotics and Trains, OBB which is an umbrella group that focuses on events, & ToroLUG which is basically all the other Lego Themes. (Though several of us do build in, but do not specialize in, Trains and Robotics.) ToroLUG meets casually every other month and formally alternating months at Sherway & Fairview on usually the 3rd Saturday evening of every month, to plan builds, store window displays, collaborations, up coming public events, and to discussion Lego in general. . http://torolug.com/ http://ontariobrickbuilders.com/ http://www.thepyroguys.com/rtl/ My MOC to Promote Brickfete 2012
