  1. Very happy we're getting a minifig set. Will have to pick this one up.
  2. Having watched the excellent live-action remake, it really feels like Lego made a mistake not making a wave of sets on the new movie. It looks to be a crowd pleaser and big success. Maybe when the sequel comes out in 2 years, Lego will make more of an effort.
  3. The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast both got D2C castle sets so it's quite plausible that the next one would be Aladdin-themed. Aladdin and Jasmine are both due for new minifigures anyway since we haven't gotten any since 2019. Lego seems to like keeping their most popular Disney characters in constant circulation like Peter Pan, Stitch, Woody, etc. Getting to switch between the Sultan's elephant throne and Jafar's cobra throne would be fun.
  4. It could be the Disney equivalent of Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. The full village with Maurice's cottage, the fountain where Belle reads to the sheep, Gaston's tavern, the bookshop, and maybe a bakery as well. Maurice's invention would also fit in. Minifigures could include Belle, Maurice, Gaston, LeFou, the baker, the bookseller, and the three bimbettes. Along with Philippe the horse, some sheep, and maybe some farm animals for Maurice's cottage like pigs and chickens.
  5. The Jolly Roger would make a good future D2C set. Lego seems to like revisiting the Peter Pan property anyway. But I imagine it would conflict with the POTC Black Pearl set.
  6. This echoes my feelings. As someone who isn't a fan of these movies, there's nothing here for me. This will be a very niche line compared to the previous Marvel ones.
  7. I like it but I agree that it's overpriced. Glad we're getting a new dalmatian with Penny.
  8. This is something I've speculated about as well. Instead of retiring this system, just re-release new versions of the old sets that are still compatible. So when it's normally time to create a new Hogwarts, re-release the Great Hall but make it different from the first one we have that's themed to Sorcerer's Stone. They could theme it to one of the later movies, like maybe GoF with the Yule Ball. It can still fit with this current Hogwarts series so as to not make it obsolete, while still including new stuff so even if people have the first Great Hall, they could still feel justified in getting this remake. They could redo all the current Hogwarts sets for the later movies since so far, it's only been the first two films that are being focused on.
  9. That really does look incredible. It really makes me hope we get expansions for the Astronomy Tower and Clock Tower as well. I missed out on the last Privet Drive set so I'm glad to be able to pick up this one. The brick-built creature sets never interest me but the Thestral one in particular looks horrendous. I can't imagine that selling very well.
  10. Was it confirmed if the Cruella set is a minidoll or minifigure one? I suppose it doesn't really matter since we already have a Cruella minifigure. Same, it's a really bad depiction of him. They did such a great job with the new Lucifer which makes this Figaro even more disappointing. Lego Disney is always hit or miss.
  11. I agree that this is the worst HP AC. The minifigures are the only good thing about it. The builds don't carry any interest for me and the animal ones in particular look horrible. I think the movies specifically made Cho the same age as Harry to keep her in his orbit. Hence why she's still portrayed as a student at Hogwarts in Deathly Hallows Part 2, even though in the books she had already graduated by then. Another similar decision involved Padma and Parvati both being Gryffindor in the movies, apparently because they needed to be seen together in Goblet of Fire for Harry to realize they're viable dates for him and Ron at the Yule Ball. And the movies hadn't depicted interhouse friendships at that point so it wouldn't make sense for Ravenclaw Padma and Gryffindor Parvati to be walking around together unless they were both in the same house. It's somewhat ambiguous if Luna is the same age as Harry or Ginny in the movies as well.
  12. Out of all the new Diagon Alley sets, this one is the worst. Herbology classroom is well-done, albeit expensive. Hoping it connects to the castle.
  13. Classic Bo Peep was long overdue. So happy her sheep are included as well after being snubbed in the TS4 sets.
  14. Cinderella's Castle & Horse Carriage set also features a new Lucifer. One that's way less cartoony and fits in with the other animal molds like Flounder, Sebastian, Patch, Simba, Eeyore, Dumbo, and Bambi. I wish we got an updated Gus though. He has a hole in his head, presumably to fit a hat, but in all the years that Lego's been making him, they've never given him his hat. His shirt is also the wrong color and should be green instead of yellow. Lego finally fixed Cinderella's hair to better match her hair color in the 4K restoration but not yet Gus' shirt. Also find it odd that Lego keeps reusing Gus over and over and has never made Jaq.
  15. Galactus is well done. The actual FF minifigs are very lackluster for the reasons everyone else has already mentioned. It's taken a decade and a half for the FF to finally be made into minifigures and this substandard treatment was not worth the wait. It doesn't seem like comic fans or MCU fans are satisfied here.
  16. The Main Tower set truly is amazing, both the exterior and interior. It looks massive and for once, I really do believe Lego's claim that this will be the definitive Hogwarts castle line. I'm even shocked that they made some semblance of creating the griffin statue entrance to Dumbledore's office. I thought for sure they'd skip out on that like they did in the modular series. Would have liked it to be more elaborate and movie accurate, with an inner chamber that acts as a lift platform so the staircase rises, but I'm thankful we got what we did. Same with the the Fat Lady's portrait actually opening up into the common room. Even the dorms being slightly ascended. The devil's snare section is probably the weakest, just like in the modular system. Lego doesn't seem very invested in that. Felt they could also have included more keys, not to mention provided actual winged keys. Overall though, this is excellent and will probably go down as one of the best HP sets. As I missed the chess set a few years back, I've been itching to finally get my hands on Harry in his red sweater.
  17. I have a feeling we won't bet getting any more Disney+ series CMF lines. Especially after they didn't make one this year and replaced it with the Spider-Verse one. I think Lego sees that the shows aren't popular or watched enough to warrant making minifigures on. I can't think of any relevant shows we'll be getting in the future that would be considered must-haves to make minifigures from.
  18. Honestly, after the lackluster X-Men sets and even more lackluster minifigures in those sets, I'd rather get more X-Men representation in a future CMF series. I don't think characters like Nightcrawler or Jubilee would be done justice outside of a CMF line anyway.
  19. Most of the remakes are pretty mediocre. I think the BATB remake doesn't come close to the original film but it's mostly inoffensive compared to the newer ones. Based on rumors for a Tangled remake, it seems Disney is slowly learning their lessons about stunt casting and returning to casting actors who actually look like the characters. But the rest of Hollywood hasn't learned this lesson between Harry Potter, Marvel's female Silver Surfer, and now Narnia wanting Meryl Streep to voice Aslan. A lot of the rejected Lego ideas sets that were Disney themed were made into real sets like the Snow White cottage and Lilo & Stitch's house. I'm not sure if Cherry Tree Lane from Mary Poppins or Remy's restaurant from Ratatouille would ever get that treatment since their submissions have been rejected multiple times as well, but there's been no indication Lego wants to make sets for those. At least the Snow White cottage looked as good as the original submission but Lilo & Stitch was a major downgrade. I think the castle staff aren't likely to get minifigures now, since only a castle set could feasibly include them. Maybe if they ever remake this castle set, like as a larger version. But the designers mentioned that they specifically created the BATB castle to be smaller than the flagship Disney Castle because they didn't want anything to rival that. So that seems to suggest not to expect any castles from other Disney movies that are any size larger than the current BATB one. I think BATB is popular enough that we could get a village set with Maurice's cottage, the bookshop, Gaston's tavern, and other things like the bakery, fountain, etc. Especially learning that Belle in her blue village dress was intended to be included in the castle set originally. Since TLM and BATB both got sets, I'm predicting the next Disney D2C set would be an Aladdin one. Otherwise, we only got the microscale Agrabah set. I also think we deserve a proper minifigure set for Maleficent as a dragon. The minidoll version looks nice but is a bit cartoony, like the scales printed around the eyes and the wings being the wrong color. As you said, we need a Phillip minifigure pronto and I'd like to see Aurora in a blue dress as well with a more movie accurate design (like a molded crown and longer hair)
  20. Will the Viaduct Bridge be the flagship Hogwarts set of 2026, the way this year's set is the Grand Staircase Tower and last year's was the Great Hall? I'm guessing the Chamber of Secrets could be one of the sets or it'll be implemented as part of the Viaduct Bridge. The Slytherin common room could likely show up here too.
  21. This is assuming even the final movie knows who's an official Avenger or not.
  22. The Lego Icons Black Pearl set for POTC. The Pixar set could potentially feature minifigures, but we don't know.
  23. That would make sense. Although the recent Cruella minidoll makes me think they'll probably just reuse that.
  24. As I expected, no griffin statue entrance for Dumbledore's office. But very impressed that we're getting the Gryffindor dorms with an actual bed beyond just the common room. Hopefully the Fat Lady's portrait is included as well. Maybe the sketch's scale isn't accurate but it looks like the Mirror of Erised is too tall to even fit into the underground chambers. The harp isn't drawn next to Fluffy. I hope there's a decent amount of chess pieces for the board.
  25. I forgot he wasn't pictured. We just assumed he'd be included because the Sorcerer's Stone was pictured with Harry. That would be nice if it could be used to be connected to a future set. Although the lack of roof would make it look odd and out of place. I'm assuming Marcus Flint will be in a regular Slytherin uniform instead of the Quidditch uniform.
