  1. All the best for the newly wed couple! And the floor technique really looks great. Pity is that it takes an enormous amount of bricks (60-70), even for a small room....
  2. 12 replies to a mid-week-release within one day ...that is quite impressive! Thanks I'm actually wondering why there was a plain red parrot. But anyway, that was fine for me. Ok, I'll put a "funny entry"-tag on my wishlist. @Captain Dee: Up to you to spot the Shakespeare reference...
  3. It is not Kahuka - it is Huarriu! (maybe he should be spelt Hooarrioo...) And, yes, the writer may be writing Bricklet or Brickthello... Yes, Huxley and I have stolen from that famous writer. (And coming from someone who shakes beer I thought I'd have a Spillwine).
  4. Welcome, Bregir. Nice build!
  5. Thanks. I've tried white background and it looked just terrible. Yes, I did not pay too much attention to the ground. One reason is that I found adding more elements would distract from the key element of the MOC (the painting family). And the other reason is that this was a quick build. Idea, build and photography done within 60 minutes. I had the statues ready for some time and now I thought they might look good in the background. These are tame parrots. They don't fly away Ok, the background is getting more praise than the actual scene... It's supposed to be no more than 16x16... You can't do much with that small space...
  6. I was not aware that such a strange piece exists - ok, you've used it well. But what is the secret of the mysterious cavern?
  7. Wow, a lot of comments for a rainy Thursday afternoon. There is a monkey in it: You can see it more easily on the flickr pages. Agreed, but shooting was difficult enough on such a dark and rainy day... Thanks - monkey, pls. see above. I had no other place to put him
  8. The islanders of the new territories (discovered by brave Eslandolian sailors) are quite industrious. Their key profession is parrot-painting (one way to make a living as an islander...) As it stands, all parrots on the island are actually born with grey plumage. Only dedicated care and craftsmenship allow for the wonderful colours that we are so fond of. The work is usually performed by all family members with the mother starting the first red coating, the children adding more colour, before the father will be applying the final touches, using several colours, depending on bird type. By the way, the other key profession on the island is monkey-statue-making. But that is a different story. A decently skilled family can produce up to twenty parrots per day. You can find more pictures on bricksafe.
  9. After a dangerous journey Colonel Brickinson finally sets foot on a newly found island. For Eslandola, for King and Gold ... and Country ... and Gold! Aided by his biograph Bill Spillwine, Colonel Brickinson records every second of his first encounter with Huarriu, the leader of the strange islander tribe. Apparently the arriving Eslandolands had disturbed a secret ritual in which the strange statue was obviously involved. Bill Spillwine already had a title for the story: Brave New World. Would this island hold treasures for Eslandola? Better pictures can be found on bricksafe.
  10. A strange mop-like being has come to earth: ... luckily it seems to be more cute than evil
  11. Fine wall, fine landscape, fine build!
  12. Wonderful, it seems that golden times are ahead for us! The flower design is really nice. And to answer the question of what is mightier: the blog, of course!
  13. Very fine to see those beautiful two ships here. More of that, please!
  14. Your version is far better than the friends version Excellent foilage.
  15. Very fine builld - inspiring!
  16. Very fine sculpture!
  17. Fine tower, but don't keep Algus as prisoners - it is way too dangerous!
  18. Pretty good stuff, that is!
  19. Great MOC, I like your war machinery!
  20. Thank you! I hope it is! Yes, pity it is over now... (well, for me, officially it is still running)
