  1. Oh, darn it all. I'll have to add this to my list of must-haves. My wallet isn't happy in the slightest... I am though EDIT: You can really see the styling differences between 2.0 and EV3. It seems like Lego is following in the footsteps of car manufacturers and going for a more angled, blocky look.
  2. It seems to be working fine for me now
  3. I've heard the philosophy many times that a price point of roughly ten cents [uSD] a part is a good deal, but does that apply to Technic sets? I've only really heard it used in relation to Town and Trains sets.
  4. I have a bit of an issue with my tracks. I have quite a few of the smaller sprockets, from buying a pack of tread links off Lego Education. The problem is, they seem to 'stick' inside the treads. It's kind of hard to explain, but if I lay out a section of tracks on a table and attempt to roll a sprocket across the drive bars, it will lift up the tracks behind it and even occasionally get stuck.
  5. I'm getting a page that tells me that the website no longer exists at this address, and that I'm going to be redirected to the current website [from technicbricks.blogspot.com to technicbricks.com]
  6. Sounds like a bugged install to me. Have you tried re-installing LDD?
  7. It'd be great to play around with this model, but I don't have the time or the cash to source the parts now
  8. I want to get my hands on two Horizon Express sets, as well as the new Technic F1 race car and the 2H 2013 Mobile Crane MkII set.
  9. Yeah, just mention that you've got a VIP account, and all should be fine.
  10. The blue window piece on the front of the police van/truck is making me drool
  11. Thank you so much! I've been wondering about this issue, and now I know how to fix it!
  12. Nice video. It reminds me of the robots you see in Half-Life: How did you get the cylinders to retract without attaching another set of hoses? I'm baffled!
  13. It looks like you smushed a rally car onto the Crawler chassis
  14. I got Sariel's book. It'll come in handy, I'm sure!
  15. The smoke effects are great, though I wouldn't put them in my Emerald Night [if I had one]. Your scenery work is outstanding!
  16. Well, I stand corrected. Either way, I don't really like how it's handled on the Lego train cars - they'd have to be extremely short for the wheel grinding to not be an issue.
  17. Heh, I like your ad for "Reconnect with your childhood". The best part is, I've stepped on enough Lego it doesn't hurt nearly as much now!
  18. This is something that's bothered me with every "short" train car I've built. They feel too short to be a proper train car, and I've never seen a full-size train car, real or not, that has its wheelsets like that.
  19. Thanks Fugazi. I read through that thread, and it brought to mind another question of mine: We have "hard" water here, and as a result, we have to out in a bit of this powdered booster stuff every time we run the dishwasher so our glasses and whatnot don't come out all cloudy-like. Should I throw in a bit of this booster powder when I wash my Lego?
  20. So, are they shipping The Stig to or from Australia this time?
  21. A buddy of mine sold me some Lego recently. It came in multiple zip-top bags, and it's all quite dusty. There's also some Megablocks [gasp!] and some random bits of trash mixed in. How should I go about cleaning them? I know I want to wash them at some point in the process to sanitize them for integration into my collection. They're from a non-smoker's house, so I don't have to worry about that. And yes, I did know what I was getting - he was very honest and up-front about what all I might find in these bags, so I'm not terribly concerned over this purchase.
  22. I'm sorting out my Technic right now. I had quite a lot of it sorted out by individual parts into some generic chest-with-a-lot-of-drawers thing, and it was getting unwieldy to find and store parts. My new sorting classifications are: -Neutral colored beam-likes [black, dark grey, light grey] -Netural colored connector-types -Colorful beam-likes [lime green, red, etc.] -Colorful connector types -Gears -Decoration elements -Assemblies Assemblies is a weird class. I've got everything in there from shock absorbers to turntables to linear acutators. Basically, any part that is made of multiple components, but is one singular unit. I'm also attaching suspension arms to wheel hubs and adding those as well, since those are kind of a specialized part.
  23. About two and a half hours, max. Be careful though, the pneumatic tubing gave me trouble when I was trying to take it off the valves, and especially off the pump.
  24. http://youtu.be/pqxIzsNPqmM I made another one, and I think I did a better job this time around. The camera is much more consistent, and there's even some music to listen this time around. Music used: Sunset Heroes, God Hand OST.
  25. The driver's cab looks nearly exactly the same as the one on the 8043 Excavator. Are the parts being used for the tips of the grab claw new?
