  1. Congrats! Any idea how long that BOGO lasts?
  2. I thought the same thing. Can't wait to see this one. I'm very pleased with the helmet choice as well. Man I wonder what the shield and armor will look.
  3. Very interesting screen shots. Some aren't too bad, but some, if they are supposed to reference real sets, are really disappointing. • Edoras could be a great $60ish dollar set, but that looks like a $30 turd. • Grond should be the ram and a large gate and that's it. Offer an Uruk-hai Army type of set with white bricks and Gondor soldiers that can attach to either side and you're in business. • The Argonath does look cool. I'm fine with that scale.
  4. Yes, only one in Fort Worth proper, on Cherry. I feel the same way about the Hurst location. It's a mess to get around that part of our little world.
  5. In the upcoming film, Orcrist is a single-sided blade with a waisting on the edge side and an asymmetrical cross guard.
  6. Silver and Blue Heroic Knight colors sound good, but I could do without that helmet. Ah well, at least it's a bit different. We haven't gotten that helmet in silver before. Ceasar sounds pretty great.
  7. Polybags found yesterday in Fort Worth, TX. No Hobbit sets on shelves.
  8. Well, it figures. I ordered a few online because I figured this one would be hard to find... stopped by TRU today and found a bunch, so I picked up three more. Great polybag for sure. It's a really good looking fig and I like the dark green hood a lot.
  9. That's a good point! My guess is that the LotR/CMF (highlander/evil knight) sword would replace the hero chrome/gold "great sword" that we've been getting with king minifigs for years. Normal knights and soldiers could then use the revised classic sword from the alternate chess set. Again, more speculation, but it's fun to guess.
  10. All my sets are assembled. I moved all of my classic lions/crusaders to kings castle, and gave the mountain fortress to the crownies. They seem happy there. :-)
  11. Just ordered 3 from TRU. I'm not going to leave this one to chance as far as finding it at retail. Now watch, with my luck they'll be everywhere and I didn't have to pay for shipping. :-/
  12. Amazing polybag! I hope it's more available than the Uruk polybag though. I have never seen one of those on the wild, but dozens and dozens of Frodos can be found.
  13. This Is really cool. Colors are really nice.
  14. I hadn't considered that, but it's a nice idea. Assuming that the heroic knight CMF is good. I'm betting it will be.
  15. So many wacky details surrounding this rumor. Many good points in this thread though. Pirates does seem more likely, it does sound odd to rerelease Kings castle, and when you think about it, LotR was always a strange fit for LEGO given the relative maturity of that property. All of that said, the best thing in the world to me would be a year where we saw Hobbit/LotR and new Kingdoms sets with a revived Black Falcons faction on the shelves. It doesn't make sense given the history of TLGs operation, but I don't care if it makes sense. It sounds so fantastic, why bother bringing reason into things? I know that no source has said anything about Black Falcons, but we're all thinking it.
  16. Hah! The build is great, but the opening paragraph totally cracked me up. Thanks again for another great addition to the series.
  17. Aaaahhhhh! I hope this isn't misinformation. I would love to see a return to classic castle. More Kingdoms would be fantastic, or classic re-releases would be cool too. The dream theme for me would be modern additions to classic factions. Wolf Pack, Forestmen, Black Falcons... That would be the best thing ever. The LotR/Hobbit stuff is great, and I've bought every one so far, but it doesn't take the place of real castle. The Europa theme really doesn't do anything for me personally, but I understand the appeal.
  18. Yay, another one! Cool functionality and those perpendicular walls add a lot of interest. One of my favorites so far.
  19. This question is tougher than I thought it would be. I lusted after the CMF elf for quite a long time and finally got one. I may not be objective on that one, but one aspect I really like about it is how it just fits with kingdoms era minifigs. I don't care much for the yellow/fleshie debate. They're both cool for their own reasons. I like LotR Legolas a lot (especially compared to the too-long tunic Hobbit version), and the other green generic Hobbit elf. They really work for that prototypical wood elf style.
  20. Man, this is really nice work. So many great details. I got a chuckle out of the dead chicken hanging from the wire.
  21. If this list is accurate, it could end up being the greatest so far for me. Maid Marion and Heroic Knight especially, but others are sounding really good too. Can't wait!
  22. Wow! Another great addition to the series. I normally don't put much value in play features, but in this case, they put a good looking set over the top into greatness. I hope you never stop making these retro MOCs. They just make me happy.
  23. Based on previous years, does anyone have an idea about when these might hit shelves in the US? Ah, yes. You beat me to it. I poked around bricklink and saw that. Very interesting. I haven't gotten anything with those wheel covers before.
  24. Wow! That white sports car is great. Are those new wheels & tires?
  25. I don't mean to be a downer here, but these sets don't do that much for me, which is a weird feeling. I love castle stuff and am a major LotR fan, but these sets just don't have enough substance for me. Bag End is beautiful, and I'm sure I'll get it, but the rest are just disconnected elements. I really need a structure. A building. Helms Deep is by far my favorite LotR set, and all my favorite classic castle sets either have a base plate, or connect to a larger one that does. The minifigs are fantastic, so that helps, but I don't think it's enough for me to justify buying all of these sets. Perhaps I'll feel differently after I see the film.
