  1. Just because they aren't sold out of one final set doesn't mean the line is still alive.
  2. This. This, for the most part. We really need a Gondor army builder on top of that. Very difficult to build a proper army from a small handful of soldiers in a D2C set.
  3. All of this is so right on. So many good ideas in here. Some of the designers have to agree with us on the revival of classic factions, right? I know business decisions aren't all theirs to make, but there must be voices in the halls of TLG that want to see something like what many of us are describing (Black Falcons/Forestmen/modular builds, etc.)
  4. I guess... But it's other name is "The Wolf's Head".
  5. 2015 is new Star Wars, Avengers, Batman vs. Superman and Ant Man. No shortage of movie tie ins that year.
  6. I could not describe a better future for more LOTR myself. All would sell extremely well and I would have a hard time not buying every Gondor army set I found. Just look at what this guy could look like... http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Gondorian_Soldier http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Gondorian_Ranger
  7. This one looks like a landslide victory for Lothlorien.
  8. I wonder if we all asked the same question tomorrow if we'd get similar replies?
  9. Color me skeptical. While I can see some of the logic, it seems uncharacteristically candid and conversational. Plus, it's difficult to trust as a first post.
  10. LOL, ain't that the truth.
  11. It looks like a standard arched window piece with a SNOT overhang that covers the arch. Not sure how that would interact with the roof pieces though.
  12. I think from a structure/build standpoint, Kingdoms offered better sets, just didn't get enough of them. Your point is well taken though; multiple factions, all with a suitable home base. Not bad at all.
  13. Perhaps, but this is a widely held opinion in this community.
  14. I figured. Just bitter, lol.
  15. Post #1690 in this thread.
  16. I fail to see the humor in it. Stupid pirate ship that nobody wanted.
  17. Very nice! Really captures the spirit if a great movie dragon.
  18. I agree with pretty much everything above... • kill the current castle line ASAP • MMV/MVR type civilian sets would be great • either revive classic factions with fresh artwork (like the black falcon in Kingdoms joust) or entirely new factions with heraldry that doesn't suck like the 2013 Castle line sucks. The only half-step I can see that keeps the current line alive is to do MMV/MVR type civilian sets and I can ditch the crown lion/red dragon figs.
  19. Most likely, but even if there isn't a full wave, I'd say there's still a chance for LotR in some form. what that may be is anybody's guess.
  20. Yup, that would do it.
  21. I see your point and think that wherever we differ in opinion is minutia. I also agree with that second paragraph. The only major difference in our views is that I think TLG dropped the ball on set selection (especially wave 2). And I don't give them as much credit as you. But I may be jaded after years of Hasbro Star Wars collecting. :-)
  22. Couple things here... First, based purely on anecdotal evidence (because that's all we have) it isn't a stretch to say that Helms Deep and Uruk-Hai Attack were among the most successful sets in LOTR. Second, Uruk-Hai Attack wasn't a battle pack in the purest sense of the term because it included a fairly substantial build that raised the price point. A 5 or 6 fig BP with small catapult type builds would have been an even bigger seller.
  23. You say that, and I see your point, but it doesn't take a business genius to know that one or two new molds (Gondor helmet/shield) in a proper battle pack would be like printing their own money. It would be a top seller, no doubt.
