One of LEGO's biggest licensing partner, Warner Bros, don't seem to have a problem calling them legos. Proof... Look at the tab to the right, "The Lord of the Rings Legos" http://www.wbshop.com/category/wbshop_brands/the+lord+of+the+rings.do (By the way, as a side note this is the best way to buy LOTR sets (minus Orc Forge) for Canadian, UK, Australian and NZ residents since they charge us USA MSRP prices!)

SoF - Eurobricks Interview With The Friends Designers!
SheepEater replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Town
I'd like to talk to a Megabloks manager tomorrow to ask him if they got the Barbie license specifically to compete with Friends, see what he responds -
Fellow Canadian LOTR fans!! *oh2* Warner Brother's online merch shop now sells LOTR sets (minus Orc Forge) at USA MSRP price and apparently ships to Canada - you know what that means!!! I haven't tried ordering yet (I'm in the process of moving) and already have all the sets but I will definitely get my 2nd Uruk Hai army set from them if they do indeed ship to Canada. Anyone care to try it out? http://www.wbshop.com

Poor Sam was completely left out of that poster. Is that a helmet-wearing Eowyn on the bottom fighting the Witch King?
-
Love it! I knew people couldn't resist giving Hobbit hair to female minifigs (gives them a soccer-mom look!)
-
Whi is Gimli guarding the King, and why does he have an identical twin? Just kidding, great MOC.
-
Fantastic Can you post pics of the innards of the mechanism?

I am speechless.

This set reminds me of that movie from 1997

Lego used to repair international space station
SheepEater posted a topic in General LEGO Discussion
http://www.tu.no/industri/2012/06/03/reparerte-romstasjon-med-lego Text is in Norwegian. I credit 'helge' for this find, who posted this on the BrickLink forums. Gotta love those classic technic bricks! -
Did you manage to build the extension, suggested by some technic instructions around that time? It uses the 855 as well as what appears to be the yellow 850 forklift. (This is from the 8857 motorcycle instructions) http://www.peeron.com/scans/8857-2/1 http://belay.peeron.com/scans/8857-2/30/ http://belay.peeron.com/scans/8857-2/31/

I disagree, his staff is fine. Proof: Gandalf from the book (was drawn long before the movies) Besides, if the staff was any different, what could I have used as front axle in my wooden race car MOC?
-
Since I built it from scratch it's not a mod, but a MOC. None of the assembly for Gandalf's cart remains. Thanks. I fell in love with that part ever since I bought 6335 and saw the clever way LEGO used it to hold the entire upper back section of the trailer.

Flagships 1990-1999
SheepEater replied to SheepEater's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You probably mistyped and meant 8459. You can try tracking down the re-releases, as well. I recommend 8464. That's the one I have. It will probably end up being 1977-1989 since for quite a few years, there were just not many sets, and not that many large sets overall. We'll see. -
"This Lego set, made by LEGO, contains 736 legos."

Flagships 1990-1999
SheepEater replied to SheepEater's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Richie, I agree with everything you said. Yeah, maybe 8858 shouldn't have been included. 8462 does look too futuristic. But look at it this way, it's wheels are rare now. And it's a blue set. With TWO air tanks. That's enough to make it worth owning. -
Great review. A few notes: 1) Mega Bloks never had the license to make LotR construction sets. Intelli-Blox did , and yes, they were horrible. 2) I'm a native french speaker and generally speaking, their French translations are horrible. On each booklet it even says "LEGO The Hobbit: Coming SPRING 2012" where in English and Spanish they have it correctly as Winter. 3)This set is even more awesome when putting it on a 48x48 baseplate. The Troll then becomes completely poseable that way.

Eh... not really. The Hobbit is classic literature. Clone Wars is franchise-milking trash.
