  1. I think the hardest part is that BttF doesn't have an extensive character cast. I consider myself a fan of the movies, yet I can't name Biff's sidekicks, the name of Marty's parents, or any of Doc's kids. That makes me believe that most sets would only really include Marty and Doc, which limits how extensive they could be. Sure, it' could be nice to get the time machine train or clock tower, but both could easily be made with current bricks and there's no incentive for Lego to try to promote such sets. Unfortunately, with "BttF Day" over and no movies in sight, BttF may be... outta time.
  2. I haven't switched out arms on a minifigure since I was a kid. With that said, I do have one figure that is cracked - the head on a Lego Movie figure garbageman. The crack is very thin and runs from the bottom of the head almost to the top. I assume it came out of the box that way, since I hadn't noticed it before. I call him Scarface.
  3. TLG will never truly die out. Even if the business starts to tank, I'm sure there are other companies willing to pick up the licenses and whanot - like MegaBloks, etc. If anything, I could see Lego moving or scaling back with less licensed themes to avoid IP costs if things got too tight.
  4. SW Advent Calendar. The R2 and C-3PO are great. It's also nice to get a better Stormtrooper and Rebel Soldier, plus a Jawa (which I don't have any of).
  5. I doubt Disney will deliberately announce the retirement of "Slave Leia". More likely, it will just fade away and fewer or no new products will be made. I doubt we'll ever get confirmation from an actual source in Disney. Either way Slave Leia is no where near Leia's best appearance, so it would be good to see products back of it.
  6. I wouldn't worry about scoring a TFA C-3PO. There's still two other movies to come which will definitely feature C-3PO and who knows how many spin-offs that might. It's not any spoiler material - but C-3PO and R2 will definitely live through all the movies. I would bet that like the Winter Soldier polybag, we'll see C-3PO later with less printing.
  7. Got my TRU C-3PO yesterday by purchasing the SW Advent Calendar. Unfortunately, whoever packed the box of polybags squished everyone into the box in weird shapes. Mine had a lot of crinkle to the bag and I was almost worried the figure could have been damaged.
  8. It's possible, but given the rumored Lego shortage this December, it may be delayed so to speak. There's another thread in the General section that talks about shelves being depleted before the holiday season.
  9. I think the licensed sets are getting a little out of hand with pricing. TFA SW sets are a good example - it just seems like less in the build and minifigure department. Granted the prelim pics Lego got weren't the best to off of, but it does seem other SW sets are just too high priced. Everything changed after the Lego movie. More people got into Lego and it's become huge company now that they have the number one spot as toy companies go. This means that they're doing even more to secure that place with better profit margins. At the very least, Lego has offered cheaper sets. One thing I appreciate with Lego is that there are various price points to buy from, so I never feel truly trapped with my purchasing. The hardest part is just factoring in where the price bumps will be, as some sets we expect to be cheaper aren't. Lego has also acquired more licenses which I think they're accommodating for across the board.
  10. If you happen to find a TRU that will accidently sell them to you individually or put them on a display endcap or something, probably not. I was lucky enough to find a cashier that didn't know the Marvel Rocket Polybag was a promo and they sold me four copies.
  11. It's funny how the Lego timeline can be measured by pre-Lego movie and post-Lego movie. Back before the movie, Lego wasn't that super hot. Sure, stuff would sell out, but only limited stuff like the Star Wars advent calendars. Now even regular sets are ones that can potentially sell out. Who knew Emmet would change the game so much...?
  12. No one had time to wait. Disney wanted these out for the super secret "Force Friday" release, which means Lego needed the sets produced months in advance of that to make it to distributors. Everyone got the Kylo Shuttle wrong, not just Lego. Fortunately, Lego is the only company that can fix there's. But, Star Wars stuff will always sell, so no one will really feel the effects of the error.
  13. I would always recommend shopping earlier to avoid these scenarios. It's no surprise that Lego's success is catching up to them, especially with Star Wars. There's just not a lot of other product out there to really compete, so I can see where they're dominating.
  14. I meant the actual movie guns. I know the Lego guns don't have the white, but it works really well on the movie ones.
  15. I've helped people in the toy aisle even when not asked and not just on Lego. When I collected action figures pretty aggressively, I would occasionally find people that needed help or who mentioned they were looking for a certain figure not in that store, but one I had seen earlier that day. Then I direct them to the store I saw the other figure at or help them find the best figure for what they needed. With Lego, I haven't really helped people with sets, but I've helped people find CMF by feeling through the packs. My best experience was helping a kid who really wanted a Bagpiper when they first came out and were super popular. We probably sorted through 40 packs (granted I did most of the sorting) while his mom watched. Eventually we found one. Originally, the kid and his mom were just going to buy a couple random packs and hope for the best, so they were amazed that feeling packs was a trick. I also really want to say something every time I see someone buying Lego at TRU. They're so over priced... Either way, if you see someone who could use help, there's never any harm in trying.
  16. I like the change on the FO Stormtroopers. I also think the white on the guns is starting to look better every time I see it.
  17. It's like the old show "Pimp my Ride". We heard you love lightsabers, so we put a lightsaber on your lightsaber!
  18. Fifty generic (but colorful) bricks, nothing to situational and maybe only two minifigures max. Probably one decent sized plate for display. Or I'd choose bricks with some functionality on the desert island - maybe some large spherical bricks to double as cups, one large baseplate to double as a plate, etc. And one brick separator.
  19. It's a shame that no one got the shuttle right. Lego and Hasbro both made shuttles with wings that could not move (obviously based on still pics).
  20. Harrison Ford was the perfect choice to pull the nostalgia piece in both trailers (the previous one and the one yesterday). I think both trailers really needed him to pull Star Wars together. Overall, great trailer. There are going to be lots of questions, as there were with the last one, but unfortunately no answers until the movie (there could be some answers if products with specific info make it out). Without getting too spoiler-ish, I hope the rumors of (specific) character deaths is false and Rey is crying for some other reason.
  21. It's rumored to be Simon Pegg's character. Looks like Leia has some crazy new hair, too.
  22. I have somewhere around 20+ of the orange ones and so far they have reduced the amount of broken fingernails and tooth marks on Lego bricks.
  23. Anakin from 8096 is significantly damaged. It looks mostly like burn marks or like dark/dried blood on his face.
  24. The CFC just doesn't have anything new to it, aside from the Ugnaught. I'd like to think that maybe it will eventually connect to something larger, kinda like how the Rancor Pit connected to Jabba's Palace. Maybe a larger Freezing Chamber with some part of Bespin is coming later.
  25. As long as you want to keep building, you can never have enough pieces. At any given time, I maybe have three or four MOC projects that I'm working on and that means I always need more pieces. Buying sets for me is the best way to get those pieces, as minifigures can be sold to recover some of the money spent on the sets if needs be. It also helps that Lego makes new pieces and parts each year to help perpetuate buying.
