  1. I also use the "extra shoes" method, as I don't believe either have to be too tall.
  2. I would prefer a TFA Luke because as mentioned he'll just appear later. Funko is making a Pop TFA Luke, so it seems that character is possible for merchandising.
  3. It's overkill if I'm using a Silver Centurion ($40 minifigure) for a custom... :P
  4. I like the idea that this is a close version to the vintage Crusader. Granted, I could buy second-hand copies of vintage Crusdaers, but being able to buy a new one direct is more appealing to me. If Lego is going to do an update, it would be best for them to do a full theme update. Maybe it's too much to hope next year's promo is Islander...?
  5. Found the CTT at Target for regular price. No other new Star Wars sets were out, though.
  6. Definitely in for this set. When Lego handed out the Space promo in 2014, I told myself if they ever ran a Castle one, I'd have to get it. I kinda wish it was a Black Falcon one, but Crusader is also a good version. Wishing I hadn't passed on the TRU vintage minifigure sets from a few years ago. Now that they've covered Space, Pirates, and Castle, I wonder what they'll out out next year.
  7. I think it's safe to say most TRUs are probably putting these out now. They usually get some kind of dibs on putting sets out earlier than other stores.
  8. So glad they're continuing that retro theme box exclusive. I was hoping they'd get to the Castle theme and this is perfect.
  9. The last trailer made me a bit skeptical on the movie. I have no problems with the all ladies team, but I think the jokes are just really hit-and-miss. This is one movie I'm really pulling for, do I hope it's good. The set still looks really solid, though. I wonder about the box art, if maybe it'll look like it's only for the new movie or a potential on-going series.
  10. I used to really like MB when they carried World of Warcraft material. Now with the new movie coming out, I'm surprised they haven't revisited it. That and I'm also surprised that they picked up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after Lego discontinued their line of them. I tried the McFarlane stuff - Walking Dead, but found it was super boring. The figures also looked horrible and finding good paint apps was as hard as finding good paint apps on McFarlane action figures. K'Nex isn't bad and I do like the Mario and Plants Vs Zombie stuff. I think it has caharacter from a figure standpoint, but none of the sets are super special. I got into the Kreo stuff and was really pulling for the Star Trek series to continue. The blind bags were great and I really wish they released that last wave in the US - the one with Worf.
  11. That appears to be the case. The DSII tag is more rare than the basic Star Wars tag.
  12. I wonder if there's a more "behind the scenes" reason for the Ghost Rider head/flames. Like maybe a licensing issue where Marvel wanted the part to be connected or maybe Lego wanted to avoid kids putting fire pieces on other heads. Maybe something more that tied their hands on the subject.
  13. Wow, this one is pretty cool. The trans parts don't bother me that much and that gold mace is great. Plus, the battle-damaged female face printing. Anyone else think the dragon symbol could be rubbed off the torso to create a cool Iron Man figure?
  14. This is the only Nexo product I've bought so far and even still I got it on sale for $8 (wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger at $10). Overall, I think she's pretty cool and has some nice pieces and printing, though I've ended up changing mine into a Sith character for Star Wars.
  15. Protos are one of the hardest types of collectibles to verify, because generally there is nothing to compare it to for verification. Usually, as seen with the other protos from the owner, the proto figures are blank and just solid colors; sometimes not even matching colors. Test samples or retailer samples can tend to have color and detail as they are used specifically to attract business. Test samples can also show up at conventions. Here we have a differently printed classic-style Boba Fett, but nothing else to go on. It's possible it's an early test sample that Lego later changed the color on.
  16. I passed on Collector Corp this year, because last year I sold about half the Pops. I still kept the gold Captain America statue, though - it's too cheesy to part with. I'm in for the Smuggler's Bounty for the full year and am hoping for an equally cheesy gold statue... maybe Chewie.
  17. New Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty is shipping - features a flying pose Boba Fett and an IG-88. The next box is supposedly Jabba's Palace themed. Also a new two pack with Hawkeye and CW Spidey has been spotted for pre-order. It also includes a keychain Cap A and Iron Man.
  18. While not the most positively perfect Dalek, the Ideas one is better than the Dimensions one. That's a really great collection there. I really like Davros and that black Dalek.
  19. I found the old horse design in white a couple years ago on the PaB, just as the new horse design came out. Probably clearing old stock. I did pick up a number of them for nostalgia.
  20. Their secondary market value should hold pretty well. Same with Harry Potter. People will always be reading the books and becoming fans, so there should be a steady stream of interest. Plus, the designs are great.
  21. Very creative idea! I think the slopes ones look best and are probably alittle lighter.
  22. Remember though the profit margin on battlepacks is much smaller than that of large sets. The battlepacks are designed to entice people to buy the bigger stuff and as such, Lego isn't concerned with making a lot on them. Four minifigures with printing isn't cheap, especially when we only occasionally see four minifigures in other larger licensed sets that are in the $60 range. Point being - battlepacks wouldn't have saved LOTR. And Lego didn't want to save LOTR in the first place. It was never meant to do anything more than what it did, despite what the fanbase thinks it could have done.
  23. I would use a brush of some type, make-up brushes, soft bristle toothbrushes, etc. I've been concerned with canned air because I know it can leave a residue at times.
  24. Unless R3 is also in Rogue One. It's still really unknown at this point. Ninja'd by TheNerdyOne!
  25. I use tackle boxes that can easily store that many minifigures and then some. Granted, they don't have individual compartment, so minifigures will have to double-up. I've never moved or traveled with them, but they have been moved about and there's no damage to the minifigures.
