Kjeld names Thomas as his successor at TLG
HawkLord replied to Legogal's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh, it's a great article, I know I was just turned off by seeing "KKK" in the title. In the US, the KKK is a white supremacist group with a very negative reputation. Seeing KKK and Lego in the same sentence probably had people worried, myself included. That's great that the business is remaining in the family. Hopefully the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree and we'll enjoy the same Lego that we know and love. -
US May The 4th Exclusive VIP Event April 30 9-10AM
HawkLord replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's the problem - so few people will be selling it that the price will be super inflated and draw attention to the secondary market. People are already looking at Lego like an investment that when they see a super limited set like this pop on eBay, they're going to flock to that market. It'll make it that much harder for people to be able to get exclusives like this in the future. -
I honestly didn't expect him to transform - really good job on that!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
HawkLord replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
No one knows which type off Death Star it'll be yet. -
I appreciate that the thread has been re-opened. The Moderators do a really great job here providing the community with a place and resource to discuss and post about Lego. I know conversation can get off track, but we can do our best job to ensure that we don't go too far off the mark and be able to reel it all back in when we're asked.

Probably the best possible version of the Scout Trooper available in purist form. Looks really good!

I can't think of a reason why Disney would want to do this. As Lego is the biggest name in brick-building and Disney and Lego have been BFFs for a number of years, I can't see anything that would jeopardize their relationship. -
Definitely true that the CTT is undersized, but I don't think Lego could ever make it bigger or more accurate unless there was a serious push in its popularity. The AT-AT is one of the most popular vehicles in the OT and it hasn't gotten the full-sized upgrade it deserves.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
HawkLord replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yep. Otherwise, I feel like we're just post-padding. So, my question on topic is, the Cap polybag - how much is it at TRU and why are they running it so close to the Cap polybag offered with purchase by Lego that's at the end of May? I don't recall a time where Lego had done this before. -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion

We should just start every new page in this thread with "No New 4th Set Info", since everyone keeps asking. I mean, really when 4th set info finally drops, it's not like anyone here is gonna miss it or somehow not hear it. -
Thank you for posting that video! I had thought about stacking bricks vertically to maximize space, but building them into progressively larger circles, is BRILLIANT. And it looks like there's still almost room at the bottom for a few studs. This needs to be required viewing for anyone going to a PaB wall. I'll have to take a screenshot of those circles, so that I can do the same thing.

Yea, Lego are toys not "investment potential"... As for the May 4th sale, some aren't bad. At least Takodano and Sith Infiltrator are close to what their original MSRP should have been. Some of the other smaller sets could be nice to pick up, like the Flash Speeder.

The Cap polybag will also be available in late May, at least according to the US store calendar. -
Wow, thanks for the help. That definitely is a cheaper option than buying 169 bricks off the website.
-
Since I don't trust even that, I will see this thread later.

Bloody helmet Finn is not that much of a selling point for me. If Lego didn't use it on the Finn polybag, they're not gonna.

Thank you, completely agree! -
Remember to check online for a figure distribution on the mystery minis. The figures are always lined up in the same order, so if there's one your looking for and you see a fresh case you can always find that figure. Granted if you see a case that looks mixed up or like it's been gone through, then all bets are off. That's how people were able to get the chase figures from the recent Bats V Supes boxes.

Buildingwon - Can I ask if you found this in a TRU in the US? I thought the Cap polybag was only available through the Lego store next month. -
REVIEW: 71012 LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1
HawkLord replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow, great review and awesome pics! It looks like there's a lot of useful parts there. I'm trying to come up with ideas for Marvel characters, using Ariel, Mr. Incredible, Syndrome, etc. -
Anyone have an estimate on how many 2x6 and 2x4 bricks would fit in a large PaB cup? I'm trying to figure out if it's cheaper to order online or do a PaB...

I've used that blue suit. It's from a Valentine's Day set that came out last year. It's actually not bad for parts for the price and the aforementioned suit. Just find a head with cocky grin and even the Mutt Williams hair and it's done.

Shipping them back would mean lost sales. Again, these are acquired if you spend $150, so I'd be surprised if Lego stores would send them back and not offer them to other customers. I'm not trying to discredit namioik, it just seems counterintuitive. -
This. It's not so much "does this product fill a Castle roll", but rather "do we have the bandwidth for this line". Right now, Lego is running more themes and licenses than ever. I think the main hurdle is what would make a Castle theme unique? Lego likes themes or plots even in their own evergreen lines - for example, City had swamp police and now the upcoming volcano explorers (or whatever they're called). A generic Castle would require some type of theme or even nameable characters for Lego to drum-up interest in. A generic Castle line seems unlikely now - not when so many people expect to carry some type of banner or IP. And assuming Lego goes with a Castle line, what other theme or IP will get bumped to accommodate it? And again, before anyone says Lego doesn't have to bump something - they're already heavier on lines than ever.

Flagship is not always super expensive. Look at Toyota or Honda - their flagship model is not the most expensive, but it's the one people gravitate towards and is the most financially successful. UCS are expensive, but Lego certainly moves more product in the $50-100 weight-class than UCS.
