  1. Eric raised an eyebrow at the sight of the attacking mutants. "Riiiiight. So cleaning the floor with your guts, it is." The Nord wanted to test Conspirator, but the lightning in the air and the overwhelming number of foes made him stick with his trusty sword: Godricsleif. Eric attacks Metal-Clawed Mutant from the front row. Eric attacks Two-Faced Mutant from the front row.
  2. I thought you were against provoking fights? And there I was, trying to be civilized this time and let the others to the talking.
  3. Ah yes! Circus of Values, but it's the Gene Bank I was thinking about . It's been aaaaages since I last laid an eye upon that game, so my memory of it is really, really vague .
  4. For some reason, that vending machine from #93 reminds me of those vending machines in Bioshock where you could buy EVE or ADAM (or it least that's how I vaguely remember it, don't really know for sure anymore how it was).
  5. Eric's face turned grim. He didn't waste a lot of words on the situation. "He's dead now. No more Reno. No-one to oppose Nemo's policies." Reluctantly, the Nord accepted his share of the loot. While pocketing the gold and the Health Core, Eric looked jealously at Throlar. Eric grunted at the sight of the mutants and crackled his knuckles. This looked like it might lead to another brawl. He drank another Mead, took some Smelling Salts and a Nostrum. The cocktail made him feel stronger. He'd let the others do the talking, though. The Nord wouldn't step down if a battle arose, but he'd actually rather continue to head for Vega instead. Ooc: Conspirator is now also mine, Sandy. Sarge gave it to Eric on the previous page.
  6. Cally Fisher is also a nod to Carrie Fisher, I presume?
  7. "Pretzel. That weird, old monk who can't stop yammering about his god and with a strange desire to condemn everything and everyone that's not to his liking? Yeah, I've met him before...him and his greasy paws." Eric shuddered at the distant thought of having had to hold the monk's hand when a Genie transported them during a quest a long time ago. "Hehehe, I hear you." Eric backed Sarge, as he eyed Throlar suspiciously. Eric was hardly interested in the story of the missing boy and his love interest and was about to turn his back on the fat man, but the mention of a reward and the central part the cards played in this story made him rethink that decision. "Ja, ja, we can help you look for that girl, boy, whatever..." The Nord did hope that this wouldn't take too much of their time, he was eager to get to Vega and see what the city of sin was like for real.
  8. I have a quest in mind (not the Nord one, something else), but it's far too rough right now for me to pitch already. I'll see what I can do, but I can't promise it will definitely be run this summer. It will probably be a short, easy quest, enough for me to get the real hang of QM'ing . EDIT: Eric now (temporarily) holds Reno's blade and has slept with Reno's semi-girlfriend. He's trying to live up to Reno's legacy, alright. Down with the Bonapartes!
  9. "Let's sell him first, then the Tritech Company can do whatever they want with it. Be it examining it or using it for spare parts. I don't care, as long as there's something of a profit in it for me". Underlining his egoist nature, Eric pointed his thumb at his chest as he finished his sentence. "I was there, Dwarf. It was simply their inability to take a joke. Perhaps they were already mindless before Althior turned them into his minions." Eric then took the letter in his hands and read it, silently mumbling its words. His eyes flickered with mischief. With a huge grin he said, "Even more reason for us to head to Vega. Let's go collect "our" reward and meet "our" liaison." Both times he said "our", he made finger quotes in the air. "Oh, the money to be made here", the sly Nord thought to himself. EDIT: Eric tossed the old Sarge one of his Grand Potions. He simply nodded in a sort-of respectful way, but didn't say much else about it. When the Sarge handed Eric Conspirator, the Nord's eyes widened greatly and for a minute he seemed both stunned, surprised and somewhat shocked, but he very quickly regained his arrogant posture and signature grin. He took the sword in his hands and let his fingers slide alongside its edge. "Conspirator, Reno's blade...", he muttered, "...where did you get it?". Examining the blade further, he noticed that the amethyst was missing. The weapon must've switched many hands along its way.
  10. Eric grunted as he drove Godricsleif through the automaton's body. He smirked. "Maybe we can sell him to the Tritech company for spare parts and turn a profit?", he said to no-one in particular. With his foot he rummaged between the parts to see if the robot had any of those peculiar cards on him, but it was to no avail. Eyeing the loot the party had gathered, the Nord picked up the body armor and knocked on it a few times, turning it around in his hands to find out the quality. "If no-one minds, I'll take this. Else, I'm also happy to get some gold or the nostrum." He then turned to the Dockmaster and ignoring Throlar's statement, Eric simply shrugged and said: "Meh, they couldn't take a joke."
  11. "We just need one more to complete our collection.." Eric smirked as his eyes darted from Sir Tinkerman to the three, now ex-, members of the Fateful Four who were now mindless minions . Hoping to take down Tinkerman, the Nord leapt at his foe. Eric attacks Sir Tinkerman from the front row.
  12. Eric slowly raised his blade, but it seemed to take him forever to reach the metal man. Eric does nothing.
  13. Meh, I wouldn't really include Eric in that list. In my opinion, he's a higher level mediocre hero, but not really deserving of a spot in the A-list. I should've used the money I spent on upgrading the greatsword on my twin axe instead . Now that would've been something . With the "new" rules for thieving classes, it'll take ages before I can get that amount of money again to invest in the twin axe. Oh why did I chose to upgrade my roleplaying weapon instead of the more efficient one, stat-wise? Yay, looks pirate-y
  14. OOC: I'm on mobile, so I can't put this in grey (I'll edit when I get home). I only take half damage in front row due to evasion, so shouldn't I have 10 (or so) health left? If that is the case I'd like to use a grand potion, otherwise I'll do nothing. Eric uses a grand potion.
  15. Eric smiled slyly as he was rid of being slowed. He leapt at Tinkerman, swinging his sword at his opponent. Eric attacks Tinkerman from the front row.
  16. I don't really know what I can still say what others have not.. This is amazing! The tudor section looks really really good. The dark red-bley-black color scheme is also very much a winner in my opinion. I also like the rooftops, crenellation and black dragon in the front. In fact, there's actually very little not to like. Can't wait to see the Eyrie you're talking about .
  17. Very slowly the bottle of remedy reached Eric's lips. Eric now drank the entire remedy. Hate to say this, but I think I should only have 25 health instead of 35, Sandy
  18. Eric grunted and uncorked one of his remedies, which he then gulped down. The stroke of good luck he had during his previous quest seemed to have run out. He nodded to Sarge as the man handed him a Grand Potion. Eric takes a remedy. This. You can find the effects and rules in the rules topic
  19. Whaaat, blame me? Blame the Fateful Four for not being able to take a joke. They could've just said something mean back, but instead they chose to fight. It's all their fault! EDIT: The Decamon card game also somewhat reminds me of a local card game here in (West-)Flanders called "manillen". I try searching some English, but the game seems to be more local than I imagined. That, or it might be that it is known under another name abroad. Basically, it's a more diffcult version of Decamon (but played with a regular card deck) and some cards also trumps others via numbers and type (clover, diamond, etc.). At the start of the game you can also call out a "favored" type and every card of that type you have at the end counts for more points when counting the end score. It's difficult to explain in a short way, since there are even more rules than what I just said. Here's a link to the Dutch wiki page. Maybe Google can help you translate if you're interested (not necesarily for Heroica, but perhaps in general), but I kind of doubt a Google translated version of rules will make things easier to understand .
  20. Actually, I really really like the concept, too. I am a 90's kid, Pokémon was the thing during my days as a youngling . I had a whole bunch of those cards, plus the GameBoy games (Blue, Crystal, Ruby: only 3 generations of Pokémon for me ). I still play those games sometimes, when I'm nostalgic and want to feel like I am 10-year-ish kid again . All I wanted was to a jab at them and make a mean joke about their name. I swear I didn't have the intention of fighting them. Not immediatly, though,... Dim Haven being a dark lair for smugglers and sellswords, I thought they'd be used to mean comments. Anyway, they drew first .
  21. As Skinny Joe went down, Eric redirected his efforts at the cowardly werelion, hoping to be able to take it down. Eric attacks Loewe the Coward from the front row. Also, Avalanche, the reason why I wanted you to attack Tinkerman is because of what Lord Duvors and Pyro explained. I know you could hardly do any damage to Tinkerman, but Throlar does more damage to plants and beasts, so that's why I had you attack Tinkerman instead of Throlar .
  22. "Sonuva ...!", Eric yelled as his hand grasped for the place he got hit. Seeing Throlar join the fray, Eric lost no time to give instructions. "Dwarf, you help take out the werelion" Eric attacks Skinny Joe from the front row. Battle order: Eric Throlar Sarge Sarge Avalanche
  23. The Nord had not expected that the Fateful Four would've been this easily lured into a fight. In fact, he was kind of surprised by the fierce reaction. Nevertheless, he licked his lips as he drew his greatsword. The first fight of the quest, outmanned with a newbie Yeti hero and a cripple sailor at his side. He liked the odds. "Farfar, I suggest I take the straw man instead of the yeti. I'll be able to take him down faster, then both me and the yeti can turn our attention on the tin man" Eric barked at the old man. Eric'll do equal amounts of damage to Tinkerman and Skinny Joe, but Skinny Joe has way less hitpoints, so I'll be able to take him down faster. Avalanche has to hold out either way, since he can only do normal damage against both, so I believe it's better for me to go after Skinny Joe instead of Tinkerman. Then, if Joe is down, me and Avalanche can go after the robot. I'm not much of a strategizer, though, but those were my two cents. EDIT: Okay, seeing that I'm "party leader", let's try this my way first, alright? Eric attacks Skinny Joe from the front row. Battle order: Eric Sarge Sarge Avalanche
  24. Eric got off the boat, soaking up the environment. It had been a while since he last visited this place. A long time, a very long time. He hardly recognized anything. But then again, the Nord had been to many places in his life and he only had the memory of a Human. A Human with a drinking problem at that. It took him some time but ultimately, Eric decided to go where Sarge and Avalanche were already busy talking to some locals. Eric only heard the last part of the conversation, where the women introduced her friends as the 'Fateful Four'. The Nord grinned his teeth bare and raised an eyebrow. He nodded in a mocking display. Sizing up the four and then eyeing the woman, he took a swig of Mead and spoke: "The Fateful Four? What a shitty name for sellswords... but hey, at least it's an alliteration, right? If people won't hire you for your sword, maybe they'll let you write a poem instead?"
  25. Wow! I love it! I just love it. All the details (there are even actual minifigs rowing below-deck!), the way you build the bow of the ship, the stern.. Everything. Very impressive.
