Heroica RPG - Quest#100: To The Tower of Babel
Khorne replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Eric turned heel and started moving out, not really giving the impression of caring about what the green witch had to say. In fact, he didn't care and for once, he didn't even care about meddling in the fight, either. Let Loc and Orokai duke it out themselves, the Nord thought. If they can deal with the situation, well then fine. If not and they succumbed to the witch, it would mean less competition for him to gain a powerful position in the nobility of Ulric's new kingdom. While stepping away from the scene, Eric did look briefly from the corner of his eye to see how Orokai and the assassin were faring. He smirked when he thought up new nicknames for the pair. "Tit and Titan, half of the Fearsome Four". "Let's go, Peri, no need to lower ourselves to dealing with those folk." -
Would it be possible to add a link to the Heroica Wiki in the Library? I always have to google it, because I can't remember the proper link . It'd be easier to find for new players and outsiders, too, since now the link is burried somewhere in the General Discussion topic. It's been a while since I last worked with a Wiki, so my already rusty skills with the format have only gotten rustier. Still, I'll see what I can do. Is it okay if I added a page about Värtland like the ones you did about Baltarok and Dastan (but with less info, of course) or is that not done because it hasn't been featured in an official quest yet and all information would be considered not canon? Oh, my nickname on Wikia is ElJay, by the way. Just in case you might wonder once you see that name pop up .

Heroica RPG - Quest#100: To The Tower of Babel

Eric nodded in agreement. "A sound choice. Let's just hope Loc's boast about her skills weren't lies like all the rest she's told us." -
Everytime when I read what this guy says, I'm always reminded of Zed from Police Academy, because of the random shouting (caps-lock) in his sentences.

I couldn't recall anything being said about Althior's hight, so I figured him to be of average height, perhaps somewhat bigger. Eric, on the other hand, well, I've always RP'ed him as being really tall, far above average (like 2 meter or maybe even a little bit taller), so that's why I had him bow down somewhat so he'd be on eye-level. I had no clue Althior is of equal stature.

"I'm in the business that pays well and gets my adrenaline pumping from time to time, so I guess this business is cut out for me," Eric dryly replied. He then rummaged through his stuff and took out his Leather Whip, which he then handed to Periwinkle. "In case we might want to get a bit more naughty later on," Eric said cheekily with a wide grin. -

"As it stands now, the vote is three to one, so I'd say that's a 'yes' from our side," Eric quickly spoke, trying to strengthen his position. Althior had gained some of Eric's respect and loyalty over the course of the previous quests and he wan't really all that bad, but this was different. Eric couldn't just blindly follow his decision. There was a much larger reward at stake here and a real chance of taking out the Bonapartes. He turned his head to Althior. "Heroica might be in the business of helping others, but I prefer to help myself first." -
Thanks WBD! I appreciate it . I'm really loving the quest so far. Great sets and nice story .

Eric shook his head in disdain. "You have some serious people issues, woman. You would've killed this gorgeous specimen of humanity? Tsk, what is wrong with you?" The Nord rolled his eyes in further resentment at the duo of the dwarf and the assassin. The dwarf can't hold his liquor and now he's complaining like a child about mosquitos stinging him. Eric shuffled closer to Althior and bowed somewhat to he was on equal eye height with the necromancer. In a hushed tone, he asked: "why do you reckon they are genocidal maniacs? I haven't heard anything of such notion before." Eric bluntly ignored the bearded man's raised hand and shrugged his shoulders. "Beats me...", he said, answering Periwinkle's inquiry. The Nord then turned to Mr. Gaunt. "I'm here for the payment that's offered to me. I have no loyalties to any of the Eubric Great Houses, whatsoever. The Houses have ruled Eubric for so long, they see it as their sole right. The right to rule belongs to the strong, to those who can earn it. I am willing to stand by your side and challenge the Houses." Eric's eyes sparkled. Finally, he seemed to have found an organization strong enough to turn Eubric upside down and shake its very foundations. He loathed the taxing policies of the Bonapartes, the snobby ways of the Hinckwells. He didn't quite know the other Houses, but in his mind they probably weren't much different, they are Southerners, after all... The Wolfpack enticed him, an organization that the challenges the rules, people who want to fight for respect instead of demanding it by some birthright. Plus, the name of the messiah had Nordic origins and Were-folk, especially werewolves and werebears, were held in high regard in Norse society. Eric grinned broadly. "A 1000 gold pieces...", he muttered, staring in front of him. "Prince Eric once again..." -

"Look at me, Peri. I'm a tall, muscular, broad-shouldered Nord. Im' not here to raid, pillage or plunder," Eric paused for a second and briefly, he looked pensive, "no wait, I kind of am here to plunder and pillage, but that's beside the point. What I mean is, I'm a sellsword, what other life would there be for me? So this merc company I work for send me here to get a job done. There's payment attached, so I intend to fullfill my end of the contract." He lay his hand on her shoulder and faked a sad face. "Of course I still want to be with you, it's just that I like gold and fighting a little more. Not much, you know, but still.. It's almost a draw, though, Peri." "Anyway, as I said, you're welcome to join us and you're still eligible for a grand tour of my main square." Eric winked. "One last thing, though, my name isn't really Loki, but Eric. I don't know who to trust in Vega, so I adopted that alias. My name might be different, but deep inside I'm still that sweet and likeable Nord you fell for. And if that doesn't please you, you can always focus on my outside, which is still gorgeous and jaw-dropping." -

"You're talking to a ruthless murderer right now, Peri," Eric said with a broad smile plastered across his face, heavily contrasting with the seriousness of his message. "It's part of my barbaric appeal, I guess." "Join us on our quest. You've shown you're capable of standing your ground. There's good pay to earn, enough to start your life anew." He then leaned in closer to her and whispered, "Plus, have you seen these guys? They're hardly capable of handling this on their own. They need me, I can't leave them now." Eric circumvented her plea to leave and didn't even think of mentioning his name wasn't even really Loki at all. -

Eric chuckled, his eyes sparkling again. He slightly cracked his knuckles and subtly rolled his shoulders. "Oh, I believe you've already seen how persuasive we can be. They'll let us through, be they welcoming to us or not." Eric turned his head to address the newcomer. This time, his face more stoic and his voice more seriousness, with a hint of aggression. "Then speak up, assassin. What do you want with us? Why are you here?" "Indeed, I am relieved that we got rid of that treacherous, back-stabbing dwarf, but as the necromancer here says, we did lose one of our strongest swords," Eric was careful to copy Althior's wording, for it would imply he actually agreed that the greenskin was the strongest sword, while in fact, the Nord obviously saw himself as the strongest sword the party had, "if the occasion would arise, I say we ought to go back and rescue him and help him seek vengeance for his late wife. But first things first, let's head towards the witch's tower." The Nord was surprised of his own words, bringing forth loyalty to a man he hardly knew. Then again, he did make a promise to Tarokai and saw the greenskin as his equal. He felt a connection. 'Blood for blood' was an ideal that definitely appealed to Eric. -

Eric sheathed his sword and then gestured towards Sarge's enchanted pegleg. "That's a useful piece of handywork you've got there, Sarge". Eyeing the loot, the Nord remarked, "I don't care about neither the armor nor the spear. Spears are weapons for the peasantry anyway. I'll take my share in gold." He winked at Periwinkle and then followed her lead. "Lead the way, Periwinkle. Take us away from this mess" -

Ooc: Wouldn't it be better if Walbartan was first in the Battle Order? In case she pulls off a Miracle.. Periwinkle retreats to the back row and attacks th Flying Monkey from there. If Walbartan has a Miracle Eric attacks Captain Buwakhareen, else he uses a Grand Potion. -

Periwinkle repeats. Eric attacks Winged Monkey Guard H. -
Hey Sandy (or anyone else), what torso does Malastor have? I don't seem to recognize it. It looks like a Nazi SS uniform, but I can't seem to think of a theme LEGO would make one of those for. Or is it a custom one?

Eric grins and quickly pockets the gold he had stolen. He was proud of his achievement, it had been a long while since he had been able to swipe some gold off of an opponent. The fact that his opponent now was a flying monkey, only slightly diminished that feeling. He looked at Periwinkle and saw the blonde harlot working her charms on one of the other furballs. He licked his lips. He had to step up his game here, if he were to impress and overwhelm her. Eric attacks Winged Monkey Guard D from the front row. Periwinkle attacks Winged Monkey Guard E from the front row. "Hehe, too bad you're immune to being bound, monkey!" -

Eric smiled as Periwinkle challenged the winged captain of the guard. He loved women with an attitude. The Nord himself drew his greatsword and was ready to display his skill at arms to the harlot. For a split second, Eric's face went blank. He had hoped the others would've at least tried to be somewhat more subtle and inconspicuous in trailing him. He raised his eyebrow at the party. "They're not really friends, you know, more like travel companions who happened to share the same destination as I did. In any case, they're not here for us. There's plenty of girls here, right?" he waved the matter away with his hand. Eric was quick to fake Periwinkle's astonishment and disbelief on the matter. "Wait, what? What are you talking about? I didn't kill anyone in this city!" the Nord spoke, putting up a verbal defense, "I swear, I have no idea what you're talking about." In a further display of theatrics, the Nord tried to weazel his way out. "The dwarf must be playing you! Lowly creature. He's been nothing but bad news to us ever since he joined our ragtag group of travellers. He lends his wits and devious actions to the wildling mutants' cause. I wouldn't be surprised if he's trying to destabilize this city's power through his lies and machinations, so the mutants would find it easier to conquer Vega!" Eric then turned to Periwinkle. "It's nothing, Peri, just some lowlife backstabber at work, apparently" The Nord spat on the ground in anger at the thought of Throlar's new betrayal. He laid his hand on Peri's cheek and softly spoke, so only she could make out what he said: "Now would be the time to show that way out, in case things might turn sour" -

Eric chuckled. "Of course, I'd do that. Like I've said, this city has disappointed me, perhaps more so than it did you." The Nord's blue eyes searched for hers, when they met he stared at her intently. Clashing with the coldness of his eyes, he said in a warm voice, half-smirking, "Jag är från Norr, miss. I am a man from the North. I drift from one place to another. The seas and the northern continent are my home. Here, I have no allegiance nor binds. I go where I want or where the winds take me. I am a free man. I am a Viking and I take what I want." He pulled Periwinkle closer to him in a bossy, but non-aggressive, manner and paused briefly. "Right now, I want to take you." He still looked deep into her eyes, while moving his head closer to hers. "My name is Loki Ericsson and I will take you away." -
Sorry! I didn't do it on purpose! :cry_sad:
