LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion
Dorayaki replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Might have to remember that Boudon's designs are not all for CMF series. Some are probably for theme proposals, like the Monster Fighters. Sadly Firenze wasn't introduced in any Hogwarts set. Maybe Elves would do? -

Sorry to allow me go back to the forbidden Princess topic , since Aladdin is the leading love interest of the franchise, I guess LEGO would keep him for the regular theme. As for Genie, his chance is based on whether the minidoll line would introduce a ghost-like lower part. Jafar's chance in CMF is rather bigger than the previous two. Pooh is of course a popular franchise. The main issue could be that there are too many wanted icons in this franchise that CMF series cannot satisfy us. And it's almost for sure that Eeyore cannot live in CMF series..... (offtopic, it's kinda surprising Pooh is not in Disney Infinity yet...- 4,155 replies

Kinda not what you literally means. For some reason LEGO is able to manage to produce an extra series for this kind of celebration, but when it comes to adding more formal series from either original or licensed themes, there is still no answer for now.As for Angel and Devil, they've been very obvious choices since series 1 but obviously LEGO pull themselves back. I think they would have to find some other replacements from other fairytale references. -

Well it's in the current roster of Disney Infinity and also the only live-action franchise along with PotC and LR. I believe Tron has a very good chance. It's named due to both figure size issue and the whole bunch of Princess debate above.... just not sure if LEGO would ever do Belle sets and so far there's no extraordinary body mold in minidoll's line. Maybe Hagrid's body could work for him?- 4,155 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion

The first thing came into my mind was the Belville version. But I doubt this would relate to her due to the fact that the previous Fairytaile Princess didn't add references from Belville's princess series. Yeah, due to the fact that LEGO having been doing Disney franchises, any generic character based on fairytales would be kinda weird choices. It's nice for them to try to reuse the new Queen skirt part (I guess). Instead, I would expect LEGO to focus on more different cultures and allow us to see princess or kings worldwide. Oh, yeah, this should mean that LEGO should really consider to do Queen Elsa a minifigure. -

Thanx for trivia . Yeah, I think Giselle's chance isn't that big, but mainly due to that Enchanted might lose to other pouplar Disney franchises. However, I would like to see at least one character represent non-animated films, like Tron or Mary Poppins. Of course. Well to put it to an end, my opinion is that they may do it, but for many reasons it won't be perfect. It is a chance, but not the only one chance for the minidoll characters to release minifigures. As the franchise stays there is always chance..Stitch is a perfect choice, and so as Lilo.- 4,155 replies

The infant looks so cute, but that also means Maggie's figure is exclusive to her and it would only be used again when the next cartoonic baby comes.... If Friends ever introduced babysitting series one day, they wouldn't use this mold, I guess. Overall the series don't really interest me since the reharshings look too much like throwbacks. Hope that WhiteFang's review can justify this. -

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

Don't know why they are not made in this year's regular sets. If that actually means LEGO won't do any more DP franchises or any new princess, then it's the legit chance for Disney Princess. However, like I said before, Beast could not be in CMF series anyway. And it's even more difficult for us to see all seven SW dwarves in this line. This only works if we asK for the leading princess's only. To make it clear, here are the main reasons why not: 1) Disney Princess is just one of the minidoll themes LEGO have now. Since LEGO won't do CMF series for every minidoll theme (CMF Friends, CMF Elves), that means CMF series is not the real solution. 2) Currently there are 14 human characters(minidolls) in the DP regular lineup. Even if CMF Disney has confirmed a second series, it still seems impossible for Disney to make all of them in this series. Not even talk about Snow or Belle. 3) This means competing with other popular Disney franchises, like CloneOPatra said above. If we need any princess or royalty member for the sake of diversity of this CMF series, like I mentioned earlier, those "unofficial" Disney princess's would be the prior choices to the chosen official DPs in this case. Since they won't be in the regular DP sets, the CMF series would suit them even better.- 4,155 replies

Hummm... Both franchises of these two have good potential in regular sets, I mean, Dwarves' house would be a great hit and Beast could never be in CMF series.Just not sure why there are no new franchise introduced in this year's LEGO DP line. Otherwise, if DP is not gonna be cancelled soon, maybe this series would have to avoid any conflict with DP's franchises even if they're not in LEGO right now.- 4,155 replies

Uh well that's why there are Disney Princess franchise and its product line for children to buy, aren't they? In this thread we've named many other Disney heroines whom children should be familiar with, too. Disney Villains is a good example.Unless you mean those unfortunate "unofficial" Disney princess like Kida or Giselle. I agree that they need this kind of redemption .- 4,155 replies

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion

Uhmm kinda not sure what it could be. Juniors could have been a chance since the previous pink suitcases only had minifigures, but now since LEGO decide to go with minidolls in Junior line, that's their decision. Likewise, CMF series doesn't work too. But maybe, I think the targeted girls would stick to minidolls even if minifigures are released, so some independent sets with minifigures might still work. Maybe, or maybe not. The thing happening is that there are no other human character than Kristoff in this wave, not matter if they're evil or not. Now the DP line looks like the one with fewest character per set among all current LEGO licensed themes, which is kinda a waste. As for all LEGO's themes for girls, Belville had evil witches so I'm sure others can do the same. Friends would be the main target cause the sets don't have the frenemies or rivals who play a big part in the cartoon. -

The rumored Superhero Girls series could ensure a possible chance for the certain supergirls to have both figure versions, but that case happens when they're both regular product lines. As said, since not every minidoll-included theme would have own CMF series (unless we literally have ten series every year), it's not the fundamental solution, obviously.I think we should focus on some other popular non-Princess franchises instead, like Alice, Peter Pan or Tron. They have no minifigrues and not even minidolls before.- 4,155 replies

Well if you see my sign above, obviously I support minifigure idea as you do. The point is that the CMF series is not the legit chance for them. Remember that there are also LEGO's in-house minidoll franchises, but not every theme would get their own CMF series cause they don't have the market demand. We still have to rely on the regluar products if we need classic minifigures, overall. There are more than 50% Disney franchises that have no royalties and princess. Maybe you haven't got what i meant about "other Disney heroines"? Mickey's Friends are the representives of Disney franchise indeed. But since many Disney franchises have their own large fanbase, I wouldn't be surprised if LEGO decide to just put three in the first series.- 4,155 replies

Well uh, clearly that means you forgot those non-royalty Disney heroines. I'm sure Disney heroines pretty much need the chances in this series especially when Disney princess's have got their own product line.Kinda not sure why Daisy wouldn't be in your list. Well LEGO could also do Clarabelle, Pete and Scrooge and so on in possible future series, but since there are just too many franchises, I guess five are enough at this point.- 4,155 replies

LEGO did try hard to compromise between brick figures and actual looks. Oviously they won't got with the size of normal LEGO birds. The variety of pigs are very nice and close to the original AB ones. Not surprised to not see all main birds (five posable figures costs alot already). Hopefully this franchise is successful enough for LEGO to do all the main flock. The sets do all look fun. I would just wish that the treehouse set could be abit bigger. The castle and ship both look quite creative.

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion
Dorayaki replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Kinda yes. Some fanbase kinda forgot the main purpose for DP: it's about readvertising the classic Disney heroines with a collective brand. Frozen is still too new to be in this brand. But just within the LEGO topic,: 1) I believe that Frozen is strong enough to have own product line, and that DP logo actually looks unnecessary. Hopefully its sequel could bring a more formal lineup. 2) as you say, if including Frozen means this line could allow some other different Disney themes girls like, maybe Alice can be a good addition. Well more princess's are gonna be queens one day. Just don't forget about Mulan. Let's forget Cinderella and Maleficent, since this Alice version is more basd on its own worldview, it better be an inpendent franchise from the classic animation. -

Well the discussion seems to be Disney Princess' range so not quite on-topic. I do hope that Disney Princess sets could give more subcharacters (if not asking for villains in the first place), but now there are no new DP member theme added in the first 2016 wave, sadly. The minidoll skirts would look the closest with the real characters, if not, I like how the traditonal slopes work in my MOCs, and not sure if the new Queen skirt works for other non-princess characters from the Disney franchise. Oh well, maybe that Queen.....- 4,155 replies

Well it shoulkd depend on how soon the series will come, not the pages here . I don't believe that, but I rather think LEGO could do one or two IO sets if they do believe that IO is popular enough so that kids would love to have all the main characters rather than just one or two from a CMF series. I would imagine a Headquarter set and a Memory Dump set with two different groups of characters. Pocahontas is also a DP member though. It's sure a nice thing to change minidolls to minifigures for different fans, but not via CMF necessarily.- 4,155 replies

It lacks villains overall. There are tons of evil icons in Disney franchises and I don't believe that Captain Hook is the only member. Sorry to repeat: > I'm not liking another Stay Puft Marshmallow Chibi I could understand that princess' and royalty stories play a super important role in the whole Disney world. However, not just cause the conflict with currently running regular Princess theme (even Toy Story is absent at this point), but many non-royal Disney heroines might need more spotlights than the royalty members.Jane is one example, and perhaps Alice, Lilo, Wendy, Kida..... etc.- 4,155 replies

I personally like Tarzan, so regardless of the licenses debate, I'm willing to see this franchise. There are tons of Disney franchises and inevitably some aren't noticed by most of us, but it's kinda rude to ask "why". The lack of Tarzan in the current Disney Infinity lineup might be due to some commercial reasons, indeed. Well, WiR is one of the possible returning Disney franchise with its sequel, so if you have assumed that Ralph should be an action figure, then it's not CMF series' topic. I definitely wish to see some WiR sets. *cough* Disney Prin*cough* One of my favorite Disney character.... but "princess".... well....- 4,155 replies

If so, I think it's still unnecessary to include all IO emotions at once. Unless it's LEGO's strategy and we'll see the same situation in the next CMF Disney series (ex, all Incredibles in the next series). And overall, it's nice to see more and more LEGO Disney, but the fact LEGO don't add more annual amount of CMF series is the current issue. That means Disney would occupy a big proportion of future CMF releases. > I still believe that regular Princess sets should be in charge of the characters by all means , so not having princess's in this series wouldn't be the deal.- 4,155 replies

Well when you say "less", it has to be that you either cancel the existed minidoll themes or change them into minifigures. If you don't mean either one, it's not like an opinion.I think minidolls would be a long stay. How LEGO ultilize them in the longterm future is the real issue. To me, it feels like that they neither take it to the next level (by doing more minidoll themes, promoting minidoll-themed characters), nor just simply give it up. Anyway, I love every character from that list and I could afford the whole series. It's just that the list lacks balance of franchises and doesn't look real.- 4,155 replies

Although this is already defined as "Minifigures" series and it unlikely happens, I agree that minidolls could be ultilized in more different licensed themes. Toy Story minidolls would work well for me.The main problem is that the molded heads are exclusive to only one certain figure and you may not change them to the other. That means you still have to make two kinds of heads for two types of figures.- 4,155 replies

Like mentioned, it's hard to believe that there is just one wave for CMF Disney, and key icons like Daisy or Goofy don't look like choices for exclusives. Pete or Yen Sid are possibly more competent. Hopefully there could be some more non-princess Disney classics sets....- 4,155 replies
