  1. http://www.pockyland.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=59560 Someone in Hong Kong said s/he got the freebies for spending more than HKD 3000). Is it imported for other uses beside ticket preorder? Uh...
  2. Well, if SW7 follows the timeline after the novel stories, the newest and youngest version of princess could be Leia's granddaughter Allana. I don't think getting a third party franchise means they can regard other peoples creation as their own creation, unless its Pixar who made it under Disney. It might be a personality right issue. There is also Tamina the Princess of Persia, which is a third party license that belongs to Ubisoft. Also, for other Disney's princess's who are protagonists but didn't join the list (eg, Vanellope, Kida, Giselle), it might be due to that they don't belong to a specific folk or legend that people can relate to. If Leia counts, many other unofficial princess's all count as well. But it's offtopic. Leia already joins Lego so we don't have to worry about her at all. If she didn't, maybe Lego would try to get Star Wars license if they didn't have it.
  3. For unknown reason we've not seen children characters in Friends. Kids would be an interesting addition there. For the dwarves, the concerned part would be whether they have a newly molded head instead of a regular one. I didn't expect to see minidolls mainly because I don't think minidolls can meet the diversity of Disney characters.
  4. I don't have enough minifigures on hand (what I've got are the tribal people from IJ and PotC) so I couldn't compare which color is the closest to Andrea, but thanks for reminding me ! In Bricklink, it defined Andrea's skin color as "Medium Dark Flesh". There weren't minifigures using this color, but in last year the tribal people from Lone Rangers do use this color, and there is Furty. Maybe I'd try to make an update of Andrea and Joanna if I have some time. I'd wonder why Andrea herself wasn't given a normal African skin color if TLG meant to design an African representive (though Lego characters don't have specific blood origins). Or she's actually an Indian?
  5. I haven't watched Frozen and I forgot most scens from Disney stories. We don't know if Lego would overcome the "Princess" issue, but simply suggest some major scenes from these stories: - The invasion of Gaston, a small set of balcony. - Mulan's Palace Fight with Shan Yu, or the Mountainside Avalanche. - Mor'du's Doomed Destiny - Attack of Cobra Jafer Oh, don't ask me if there is something wrong. Suppose that romantic elements are concerned, Smith would be a sensitive issue in this scene I guess. Unless there is another set that features Rolfe and the sequel.
  6. The major issue should be that the Disney sets of first waves don't include more than three minidolls. If the won't be more minidolls in future sets, not to say seven dwarves, we can even hardly see Cinderella with her sisters and stepmother. The fastest way would still be making darves' house with all characters. Or there aren't too many choices in Snow White, maybe the workplace mine, the cliff and the funeral.
  7. Jane Poster, the "Tarzaness". She once appeared in official magazine but never returns again. Well, Tarzan could also be a nice theme for Lego, ironically there is a new movie last year. The "next generation" such as "Wendy II", Kiara and Melody are not considered to be Disney classics for a natural reason, I guess. Uh, you mean she's unofficial, right? Mei is a princess. Sequels, aka "direct to DVD" is another minor but important topic in Disney World. (The point isn't the "sequel". There have been too many Disney sequel license such as Toy Story and PotC.) Mei and her sisters are not "qualified" as non-protagonists, most people can agree with this. However, there are conflicts in some pairs such as Esemerald and Madellaine from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Esemerald was once honored as a Disney Princess, but Madellaine, not to say a title, she seems to get very little prestige in Disney world. I personally don't see it's a convincible "criteria" since it would lead fans to reject any media work from TV series and DVDs. Another example is Sofia the first from a TV mediawork. She has a chance since Jake the Pirate was there. Still as said, we can only investigate in depth after most Disney stories are in the Lego world.
  8. Thanx! I have't tried LDD, I'd find some time to try. Your works look nice.
  9. Generally the official princess has to be the leading protagonist/heroine so the three Chinese princess's can't win an equal title. There has been some "fake princesses" such as Mulan, Esmerald and Jane, for now only Mulan is left in official list. Characters from "direct to DVD" is another problem in Disney system. At least we have to see a Mulan set coming before this topic.
  10. Uh, you may search for the unofficial princesses, and it's toy forum so we don't discuss much here. Though I'd like to see all princess's (heroines) being in Lego.
  11. Uhm.... I can't say that TLC don't know it in their hearts. Maybe exclusive minifigures is one of their strategy to sell products (though personally I'm unhappy that minifigures from other themes are less distinctive than LOTR ones). However, if the buildings are not just less apppealing than minifigures, but they're really bad desiegns, TLC should make a critical review and improve the buildings. After all there is a C2C market that allows us to exhange minifigures. If the buidings and products are not appealing enough, it would result in that only few people buy the actual products.
  12. Well, whatever, customizers also make characters that TLC just don't do, in this point customization and counterfeiting seem to be the same. However, counterfeits mostly pretend to have acquired authority but actually they didn't, which is a big difference that the license owners would be aware of.
  13. There have been girls-oriented Lego products. but not successful enough. I'm not sure it was meant to be a "revolution" since Friends is the losing part that City could have done better with (female characters, new colors of bricks), but as an independent theme it does work. I agree the newer male minidolls included in new sets are not that interesting, while girls have at lease a new clother in each set. If we need male recurring characters, it still has to rely on TV animation stories. So far we don't see Jacob or the Heartlake mayor appears in any set (it could be reasonable if the mayor attends the Horse Show).
  14. Honestly, I'm not sure about what Arctic means. If we're talknig about an "arctic town/city", the answer would be Winter Village or some real-world cities like Norilsk. But so far what the leaked pics show is scientific expedition team or something. So there won't be an Arctic Police Station even if TLC want to do. There have been polar bears, but this leaked one reuses the mold introduced in Forest Police which have wider waistline. I'm not sure of the huskies. As Lyichir said, some Friends original animals (regardless of the cats and dogs mentioned above) do have a good compatibility with normal System sets. I don't think they're useless. Duplo ironically make Zoo and Safari sets that System don't do. Actually there are some large animals (giraffe, elephants) that look very reasonable when being put with minifigures, though they're not based on the System scale.
  15. Well, I don't know if that's a "direction" or "confusion", since natural creatures or scenes should have an independent theme instead of a subtheme of City, or it has to be a wild adventure just like Orient Expedition.
  16. Thankx! Uh, not until yesterday I didn't know the penguin has a name....The arm part in genius.
  17. Interesting modification from the original Juice Bar. But maybe the bottom layer of bar could be modified to other layers instead.
  18. I'm back home and examine the polybag again. I seldom buy polybags so I'm not sure how to read the lines on them. The lines tell toy types, warnings, and distributed by LEGO Group in Mexico, USA and Canada. Would it be a good news to Americans? And its item number is 5002203. It's not written in the front, for unknown reason. If you mean Green Latern, sorry, not yet.
  19. Thanx! I couldn't find it somehow, IMO it's good enough, the only thing I might expect is a bigger model instead of leaving another small seat alone, though so far all combiners do so.
  20. Good review! I'm not sure I like Plum, maybe it's not a smart rehashing to me (though maybe some fans wish to see opposite gender counterparts just like CMFs do). I'd like to see a lion cub be in future waves, simply reusing the tiger cub's mould with different prints. It feels like Friends animals are getting more imaginary, maybe we'll eventually see their adult counterparts in regular sets? I've not seen more combine buildings since series 3. It's not the main purpose of polybag series but still a pity.
  21. TLC have no problems inventing new animals in Friends, so it's not a technical problem, but prodcut design. If there wasn't a Friendish lamb, another chance is a CMF shepherd coming with a lamb, but blind bags can't include a full-size sheep. After all Farm isn't what TLC care about. We can only see if more tropical or arctic animals will be in the next wave.
  22. Sorry, I'm outside home so I need nine hours to give you a better answer of the bag information. It is simply from where I got the source. As I know my local theaters don't have promotions too. Oh, I didn't think about MBA. So his whole prints are new except his face?
  23. New Supervillain polybag: Penguin's Playground
  24. So here he comes. Here is a simple comparison between the two different DJs. Obviously the new DJ is based on the CMF DJ's hairpiece in different color. I can't remember he's clothes and pants prints are new or not (both are different from the CMF DJ). I personally think both are not "hip" enough as a DJ character, though maybe I'm wrong. A back shot. Both have no back prints, though the CMF DJ at least has three colors. A photo without hairpiece. It seems like other SWAT robos have the same face so it's not a new one as same as his CMF companions. Here is an unclear photo of the package. It mentions that this fig is made in Chima, uh, China. Finally, here's the answer to the hair color.
