Yeah, I always thought that, but Sandy said Dual-strike does not affect AOE attacks. Though I think it would still affect Spellspin and Triple-shot (if anyone had a dual-strike bow).

Erik outlines a suggestion for a battle order. "Did I hear someone suggest we take out Trumpet and Flute? If you've got a plan you think we should go with, feel free to use that instead. I'll just try to keep this Piano occupied." Erik makes an unarmed attack against Piano from the Back row. Suggested battle order: Syrio>Flute, front row. (suggested) Amorith>Drums, back row. Drucilla>Bagpipes, back row. (suggested) Sorrow>Trumpet, front row. Erik>Piano, back row. Karie>Maracas, back row. Sorsha Nuitan Thalion>Grand Potion, back row. Heckz Noel Hymnessamine plays Dirge of the Phoenix Updated to include all actions up to Karie.

So if Aunt Hymnessamine plays Dirge of the Phoenix, but the revived heroes are K/O'ed by a special damage, they revive again? What about if they are K/O'ed by free hits? Erik looks around at his companions on the floor. "I think it's about time we look at getting everyone back up."

In which the heroes are hired to help someone repay their mortgage, so they go around bashing up monsters, and take all their loot, and sell it, and give the money to the NPC who hired them, and he spends the money paying off his mortgage. But then he doesn't have anything left to reward them with, so they blow him up with a bomb, and steal his Table of Arrow Immunity, which they then use to defeat shuriken-throwing Proggs who are trying to invade Strivvi?

Oh fair enough. I don't think that changes much, except I moved Erik forwards, but I should have done that to begin with anyway, I think. Also, Blood Ritual isn't elemental, and doesn't consume ether... Realising Aunt Hymnessamine will position herself well back from the fighting in the event that she plays a Battle Song, and also eager to ensure Sorsha is healed as soon as possible, Erik amends his previous suggestion. Erik heals Sorsha, Voltedge, back row. Hit by Bagpipes, possibly also Trumpet. Amorith hits Drums, back row. Hit by Drums. Drucilla hits Flute. Hit by Flute Sorsha hits Maracas. Hit by Guitar or Maracas. Syrio hits Guitar? back row. Hit by Maracas or Piano. Sorrow hits Bagpipes, back row. Hit by Piano. Karie does something conditional, Hit by Piano or Trumpet Nuitan does something conditional, Hit by Trumpet. Hymnessamine plays Lucky Chant.

"That went well." Working out strategy had felt just like meditating. Interesting. I don't have time to work out another big strategy this time, sorry, guys. Vague suggestion of battle order and actions: Sorrow hits Bagpipes, back row. Hit by Bagpipes Amorith hits Drums, back row. Hit by Drums Drucilla hits Flute. Hit by Flute Sorsha hits Maracas. Hit by Guitar or Maracas. Syrio hits Guitar? back row. Hit by Maracas or Piano. Erik heals Sorsha, Voltedge, back row. Hit by Piano. Hymnessamine plays Lucky song. Hit by Piano or Trumpet Karie heals Drucilla, spring staff, unless Erik rolled sheild. Hit by Trumpet. Nuitan heals himself? Hit by Trumpet or nothing. "4 possible special damages, one possible double special damage, if Syrio hits or better he kills Guitar. I get two chances for Blood Ritual."

Also, Amorith would be better off targeting Drum. As Kintobor has said, he can't deal any damage to anything yet, and he has enough SP to block any damage either way, so that would just reduce the damage taken by others. Aside from prevent free hits.

Erik yells suggestions for targets and an order of actions at the rest of the party. (Suggested) Battle Order: (enemy levels in brackets) ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Free hits ~~~~ (Total damage taken if the character rolls damage and no special damage is rolled) Karie targets Bagpipes (16) from the back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bagpipes (16) ~~~~~ (18 12? dmg)* ~~~~ *note this damage may be reduced by Nimble. Amorith targets Drum (18) from the back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drum (18) ~~~~~ (0 dmg) Drucilla targets Flute (12) from the back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Flute (12) ~~~~~ (6 dmg) Syrio targets Guitar (10) and Piano (20) from the back ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Guitar (10) ~~~~~~~ (14 dmg) ~~~~~ *note this damage may be reduced by Nimble. Sorsha targets Maracas (8) from the back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maracas (8) ~~~~~~ (2 dmg) Erik targets Trumpet (12) from the back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Piano (20) ~~~~ (8 dmg) Sorrow targets Sax (6) from the Front ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sax (6) ~~~~~ ~~~ (0 dmg) Nuitan (heals or buffs someone?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trumpet (12) ~~~~ (5 dmg) Noel (buffs or potions someone?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~* I got 18 originally for the damage Karie would take, but I think it should actually only be 12. I think that's because I originally forgot about Nuitan, but he takes a 12-damage hit that would have been halved for back row and added 6 damage to what Karie would have taken. "The advantages with this plan are as follows: Those who get hit hardest (Karie and Syrio) have a chance to dodge some of it. Sorrow attacks from the front, so there's a decent chance he can take out Sax, plus he takes no damage and only 1 damage from specials. Amorith will do no damage, but he won't take any either, and I believe he has a special skill where he can recover ether on spells once he's run out, so while he might go down to 0 ether, he can keep this up literally forever. The disadvantages are these: Thalion and Heckz have to wait to be revived. I don't know how long Karie and Syrio can keep this up. Depends on their luck dodging. Nuitan can only keep this up for 4 rounds. (assuming only damage is rolled) Me and Drucilla can only keep this up for 5 rounds (assuming only damage is rolled) Sorsha can only keep this up for 10 rounds (assuming only damage is rolled) Special damage may possibly be rolled up to 8 times with this order/actions, which basically would suck. 64 damage ignoring row, if it happens. I don't think we'll actually do anything, aside from giving Sorrow a chance to kill Sax. " OOC: Questions for Sandy: Does Karie's whip's -1 level thing count as a negative effect? Does Nimble have 1/3 chance of avoiding each free hit, or of avoiding the combined free hits? What about for Syrio's Double Damage? Does Nimble have a chance to avoid damage from rolls of special damage? Marauder's dual damage adds both amounts of damage together before applying SP, in the same way a free hit does. Would this also apply to Area-of-affect damage-dealing enemy specials? Also, can a Marauder chose to attack a single target once?

Arriving just in time to see the spell-casters being ripped into by the demons, Erik abandons his elemental weapons and instead makes an unarmed attack against Trumpet from the back row. Somehow posted this accidentally, I'm still working on it. It's such a huge wall of text I'll just put the rest in a new post.

Also Noel is immune to free hits, so that would have gone to someone else. Erik heals Amorith from the Back Row with Voltedge. EDIT: Or Heckz if Amorith is K/O'ed. Changed (see later post).

"Which bastard is that?" "Sorsha, mind lending me that Chair or Plunger, in case we encounter etherial enemies?" Erik accepts any non-elemental weapon offered to him.

I'm assuming Karie receives the letter and relays it to the rest of the party. "Hmph. If they need the genie, perhaps we could run down there and take out the demons together without it? Save that wish, perhaps?" Erik starts running towards the music room.

I can just imagine Gibbin and Gollum dressed in white labcoats and enormous hats, standing in some lab somewhere tossing bombs into a cage full of humans and talking like that. Yeah, well, Arges first appeared in the side-quest, then ran off as soon as he could, then when we found him again we almost immediately packed him off in the box.
-
Yeah no man, Nuitan is 18, but Noel is only 15. That isn't even half-oldest-age-plus-7. They'll have to wait a few years. To be honest I was wondering about Sorsha and Arges on the side-quest, though. Sorsha seemed rather concerned about Arges' possible demise, but that could just have been down to her ignorance of the fact that he is merely an NPC in a greater game. And an NPC without a class, at that. Well, a proper class. University ones don't count. She'd be dating beneath her status (effects).
-
Oops. I just got him muddled up with Nuitan, I think. Beyond them both being ether-using students in #93 they aren't that similar, though.

To PCs Erik slides his sword into his belt and looks around the room at the armour that they had wrecked, and at the armour that had been wrecked by Syrio before they arrived. "Pretty cowardly for things that weren't even alive to begin with. Sorrow's right, Karie. You can't be blamed for those things running off to hide every time they saw you coming." "Aye, I'd love that bascinet. Ain't she a beauty?" Erik holds it up and looks into the faceplate, before hanging it from his sword-hilt and turning to the students, Sorsha and Nuitan. To NPCs "Nice work, you two. Sorsha, that was a great hit on the Kettle Helm one, and Nuitan, that was a miraculous job healing me, immediately after I got hit by that Burgeonet." He turns to Syrio. "I think someone said your name's Syrio. I'm Erik. We were hired to get your kids out of here safely, and hunt down the guy who caused all this. We've got a box Noel Shadeaux Ziegfried has been using to teleport people out of here with, and there's another group of us somewhere - we split up to cover ground faster." "We can send you out of here if you want, but you look like a fighter, and we could do with your help."

Lord Duvors, Throlar can wear both his Crow Helmet and his Armour of the Draugr, and I think he's only wearing his helmet at the moment. Comrade Commander, Darksten may wish to lend his Safety Blanket to Deus. He won't be able to wear both it and his Sand Worm Hide for 6 more levels anyway.

"Well, I wouldn't mind a chance to meditate. Funnily enough, I only ever manage when I'm tryin' to hit something. I think it's the barbarian-ness." "Plus, if you get injured, I might patch you up with a ritual." If Sorrow agrees, Erik attacks Burgeonet with Voltedge from the back row.

"Hmmph. Mine doesn't wanna get hit either." "I'll knock him off balance, and you hit him when his gaurd's down, hey, Sorrow?" Erik stabs half-heartedly at Kettle Helm from the back row. Sorrow could just finish them on his own; he's buffed, and there's only two left. Have Erik attack for chance of Meditate, perhaps? Karie could give someone her Medal of Valour?

Erik smiles as his blade slides through the rent in his opponents breastplate, and he feels Voltedge shudder as it hits something important. The armour ducks behind one of its companions, and Erik shrugs and swings Voltedge down on the broken Kettle Helm. Front Row. "Nuitan, Sorsha, perhaps you would like a lesson in removing opponents from cover?" I'm thinking Nuitan, Sorsha and maybe Karie should hit Burgeonet since they have the least damage. Also perhaps move Erik down the battle order, since everyone is on full health. On the other hand, I'm getting good rolls here. Haha he's talking to an inanimate object that has sprung to life.

Your current "Status" is: Dammit, I hate Flickr, I hate it hate it hate it. Previous statuses have also included: I hate... I'm sure there have been other times you have claimed to hate things, but I am not going to go back and find them. It seems reasonable, in my opinion, to assume that you hate a lot of things. Plus, I used a tongue smiley. If you wish to hate a lot of things, that is none of my business. However, be advised that saturation of the hate market is likely to lower it's value.

"Stupid stingy steel suits." Erik thrusts Voltedge at the Burgonet's damaged breastplate. Front Row.

"I love it when a plan comes together." Erik lunges at the Burgeonet from the front row, with Voltedge.

Hey, I was on his first quest! Surely that entitles me to at least his helmet! The rest of you can fight over everything else. I thought he was going necromancer though? Dude, you hate everything.
