"Uh, yeah, sorry, I meant Nuitan." Erik crosses over to Thalion and pours a phoenix essence on him. "Yeah, Sorrow, what exactly was that? Why didn't they all end up knocked out?"

"Maybe we have to target them in order corresponding to their positions in the solar system. So we should hit Exofors, then Spyrium, then Olegaia, then Galidoor, then Belvel." Erik calls. "I think it'd end with the sun, because we want to hit him next. We can probably leave out Spyrium, now it's gone." "Blue Goats Only Swim East. Yeah, that's right." He changes his target to Belvel. Back row. Gah, I was pretty slow on that one. I did see the hints, and I thought they looked like hints, but my brain just wasn't making any sense of them.

"Noel, can you examine that kid? Try to work out if he'll survive if we wait until after the battle to revive him. I don't think we'll have enough essences, otherwise." Erik swings at Olegaia from the back row. "Maybe Sorsha could try to petrify them, instead of us knocking them out."

"He said not to worry." Erik shrugs. "There's a chance I'll pull off one of those fancy rituals and heal him, but I think he's planning on going for one of the blind guys anyway."

"Oh, okay." Erik attacks Belvel from the back row.

If Heckz' health is less than 22, Erik heals him. Otherwise, he attacks Belvel from the back row. "Do you want to heal our esteemed party leader, or shall I?" he calls to Amorith.

"Well, perhaps I could make them immune to Hexed, or try a remedy, or just put them to sleep and send them off in the box." "Speakin' a' which, y'know, I'm beginning to think we should start putting all the students to sleep before we put them in the box. It'll save stuffin' around tryin' to make sure they're with their friends."

"I knew I should have had the topaz taken out of my sword." Erik mumbles, half-heartedly stabbing at Belvel from the back row. So because all my weapons are elemental, hits and critical hits will do nothing, but special damage will still halve both our health, I can still roll meditate, and blood ritual will still damage it, right? "Hey Heckz, I think Sorsha would appreciate it if you let her hit something once in a while, and she's safe doing that here, especially from the back row." "Do you guys think we should try to get the kids out before we smash up the planets?"

I think Cinna, Mirona, Boris, Tesni, Jess, Guts, Thormanil, Alexis, Alexandre, Gocklo and Olmstyr can all equip additional artifacts. I think Guts would benefit from Haldor's 'Ognar's Beard,' and he might want to swap his crocodile armour for Haldor's heavy armour or Alexis' Smelly hide. Olmstyr would benefit from Haldor's Scutum shield, Jess has an SP:1 Helmet in her inventory, and an empty artifact slot, Borris could benefit from Nerwen's Robe of the Archmagi, It looks like getting close to the battle now, but I didn't have time to post earlier, so I'll post this stuff and then edit some more in. Dyric has a SP:3 nordic stomach guard that Baradok or Mirona could wear, with whoever doesn't wear it taking Baradok's SP:2 Lighter armour Nelvin or Jess might want to use Alexis' Quickdraw quiver, Alexis might want to equip her Lieutenant's helmet and Winged sandals, Purpearl might want to lend her Thorny Rose to Alexandre, Dreyrugr and Tesni have scrolls they can't use, and some of the tougher casters, maybe Hoke, might want to lend their scrolls to some of the weaker casters, like Purpearl. Dreyrugr has a Net that he might want to lend to a low-level character or someone immune to slow. Cinna might want to either put on her pointy hat or borrow Hoke's Helm of the Lord of Light, or Benji's Tricorne. Olmstyr might want one of the last two. Tesni has a Red Dragon Plume and King's Crown, and could wear one of them, and she might want to swap the Barbarian boots for the other one. Gocklo might as well wear Alexandre's Dapper hat, as I doubt he's going to drink a mead or wear something else. As Vash mentioned earlier, the Smelly Hide would probably help a tank who can use it quite a bit as well.

Hypothetically, would it be acceptable for people not participating in the Baltarok quests to comment specific advice about artifact distribution in this thread? I know it's generally considered bad form to give away plot twists and such, but if the comments are restricted to artifact redistribution, I think it would be different.

So throwing weapons that have been thrown into enemy spawn territory can't be retrieved until the end of the battle?

"Aye, well, I'm sure you're capable of defendin' yourself, miss." "Right, after we get these kids sent off, we might check the rest of the rooms in this wing, or we could check the dark hall. There's that artifact and the faculty office in the dark hall, but there's bound to be other things here as well."

Erik lets go of the door handles and turns around for the first time to look at Heckz. He tilts his head to the side, and stares at him in silence for a few moments. "... I hope you're joking, sir." One hand moves slightly, perhaps unnoticably, towards his belt, where one of his axes is hanging, but pauses there. He turns back to the door. "If all else fails, perhaps we can seal the front door. Stop everyone from getting through that way."

Also, it seems to me that the kingdoms' army might think the orcs were getting him to lie by pointing arrows at him, or strapping a bomb to him, or something, to give them a chance to take the bridge? We all know how much these multi-quest thingies like bombs.

Erik glances back at the rest of the party's efforts to aid the girls. While he is curious as to whether seduction or magic lantern light would be able to free the children from their possession, he has neither a magic lantern nor any seduction skills, so he remains by the door.

These heroes won't fall for that. All their clothes are just elaborate tattoos! Also, you forgot Arthur's inventory and just listed his equipment.

"Aye, the little guy we found under the stairs earlier warned us not to go outside." "There are demons running about everywhere killing people. Keep heading this way and you might bump into some." Erik runs ahead and closes the door the girls are heading towards, and holds it shut. "Professor," he calls over his shoulder, "See if they want to take a look at the pure white light in your lantern."

"Those scrolls only hit one person at a time, right? The rest might take offense if we start casting spells on one of them. I'd like to see how all their talk of purity and light holds up against a magic lantern, though." Erik mumbles from the back. He steps forwards and addresses the three girls. "I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess those demons running around are impure? And also, if you lot wanna be remembered, seems like now is a bad time to try accomplishing that by killin' yourselves. A lot of people have died already today, so next to that, a few more deaths are just gonna be a statistic. You wanna make some sort of statement, best time to martyr yourselves would be once this has all died down. Get out of this hall, do it in the middle of the town square or something."

Erik follows Heckz again. "We were probably just getting our directions muddled up. Nine doors, one leads to the room we got the lantern from, one leads upstairs, one leads back to the entrance hall, and one is a corridoor to a bunch more rooms. I think we want to check the other five classrooms."

Taking that into account, I think that was a good challenge. Took 4 days, cost 50 ether, and maybe I'm biased because I got xp from it. And it was a shame half the people didn't have access to the pieces to participate, although I don't think there's anything that could have been done about that. But I quite enjoyed that.
