  1. This build could even pass for an official set! Well done, @Legostein! If we look to the classics, there would often be a medium size set with a particular design and this would be repeated at a larger scale in one of the bigger sets. For example: the Spyrius sub theme, 6989 Recon Robot versus 6949 Robot Guardian So the Caribbean Ribbit works well as a similar counterpart to the Caribbean Clipper.
  2. @JintaiZ, have edited a more suitable image for the blog post...
  3. What's the link to project webpage on LEGO Ideas?
  4. I think it looks very earthly with it's tan colour scheme. Kind of like it's been built from sandstone. But yes, a very fine update indeed! Are there any more photos? Particularly of the rear?

  6. That is entirely different functionality - it creates a post on the Frontpage of Eurobricks. There is no way to feature a topic and make it appear in the MOC Sidebar.
  7. Was there a particular date you were going to make these ideas public? I'm not answering twice so they'll need to be public now. It seems the current LEGO Ideas Projects are displaying in both sections. I intend to fix this in a future update. No, it's not possible. Each forum would need it's own blog and a developer to integrate the blog into the forum... and I certainly don't have time to do this other forums.
  8. There is only room for one LEGO Idea project so it's not beneficial to display expired projects because that robs current projects of exposure. However, expired LEGO Idea Projects should still display in the "Featured MOCs" section.
  9. With you being the youngest? Actually, what I meant to say your talent shows no bounds! So for all the MOCs you've been sharing in the Forum and Facebook Group I shall award thee the MOC Expert tag:
  10. Duplo? Really Evan? Has it come this?
  11. I disagree, you require skills in the Photo Editing software of which which many people lack. Then you also need an eye for perspective and lighting to ensure to ensure the rendering blends seamlessly with the background and doesn't appear to be "floating" over it.
  12. Thank you for the feedback! Depends if you want to recreate the MOC yourself. In the Facebook Group we get regular requests for building instructions, so with this sidebar you can now easily access third-party instructions from the Drop Down menu. Same with LEGO Ideas. If you want to support the MOC, you can now access the LEGO Ideas page in a couple of clicks. Yeah, that's the problem with a forum - they're very text based. So the topics don't have thumbs or preview images to draw people in. When new members arrive at the forum, we want to draw them towards the highlights as quickly as possible.
  13. Desktop forum users may have noticed a new sidebar featuring MOCs has appeared in the recent times. Basically, this is a selection of recent MOCs blogged on Classic-Pirates.com which appear in random order each time the webpage loads. It was added to inject more colour and visual interest into the forum... plus each MOC has a Short Cut menu so you can easily navigate to webpages where more information can be found. And yes, like all new features it may have some bugs, some I've noticed are: Sometimes the sidebar is a little slow to load. But this is due to it pulling in data from another website. Perhaps a more efficient (and time consuming) solution could be implemented in the future, but the current solution was the quickest to implement. Sometimes the Short Cut menu for the LEGO Ideas submission (at the bottom of the sidebar) is "cut off". This because the combined height of the MOC images is exceeding the maximum height of the sidebar. One possible solution is to reverse the direction of the menu so it drops up instead of down. If Classic-Pirates.com is down then the sidebar won't load and there may be an error message. That aside... What are your thoughts? Any feedback? Is this feature useful? How could it be improved?
  14. @JintaiZ - here is another LEGO Ideas submission we can use for the blog!

  16. "Fortress of Hunyadi" by Zsolti (@MyFirstMoc) In this imaginary world Hungary becomes a sea lordship. That is why it was also his job to curb the activities of pirates. The Fortress of Hunyadi is built up by this occasion, so the peace can be maintained in the areas that have already been recaptured. The Fortress is a modular construction according to its era, thus facilitating playability. SUPPORT NOW! What you can find in the Fortress: Barracks Stable Warehouse / treasure chamber Jail Dining room Kitchen Secret door (opens from the kitchen) Officers accommodation 8 minifigures (commander, sergeant, 4 soldiers, cook, prisoner) Sizes: Consisting of 2987 pcs (with minifigs) Studs: width 48; length 113; height 35 Width: 38,4 cm / 15,1 inches Length: 90,6 cm / 35,7 inches Height: 28,2 cm / 11,1 inches This small hungarian fortress reminds you of the classic pirate theme, but in a modern packaging. I was trying to make it more interesting with a lot of details taking into consideration the piece number limit. I think that the Barracuda Bay has already proved that there is a need for the "Pirate" themes, and there is a great demand for this kind of sets. That is why I think that with the set a collector could be satisfied, or even a kid too, who would like to play with it. Thank you for your support! #BringBackLEGOPirates SUPPORT NOW!
  17. It's quite good photo editing, I must say! How was the background and water actually achieved?
  18. Exactly the point I was making in my earlier post.
  19. I think they have done a fantastic job! Their photography is also superb - they've captured the fort right a magnificent angle to take advantage of the sunrise!

  21. Well... Evan has beat me to it! Especially the work of Jason Brown of The Brick Stop who adheres very closely to the design style of the officially released 96-97 LEGO sets.
