  1. "Pirate Paradise V2" by Marco Mak Don't miss these phenomenal MOC which has reached more than 150,000 people on Facebook... Loads more images and builder commentary awaits you in the LEGO Pirates Forum.
  2. Marco, thank ye so much for sharing your awesome MOC in the LEGO Pirates forum! Been following this in the Classic Pirates Facebook Group and it's received a phenomenal response and now reached more than 150,000 people: I think we should share it on the Eurobricks frontpage!
  3. Even better! Are there any social media profiles you'd like included with the photo?
  4. What an awesome family heirloom! We're putting together a LEGO Pirates fan photo gallery and I'd ask if you wished to be included. However, I'm concerned that our sponsors may take issue with the firearm, given its not immediately obvious that is a replica or based on a historic weapon. It's probably best to forgo weapons in the gallery, so do you have another version of this photo without the gun and more proudly displaying the Imperial Guard flag on your T shirt?
  5. You certainly have a bad take on this. While the objective of Return of the Classic Pirates contest was to submit entries in the style of official LEGO sets, classic and present, specifically to tie-in with the release of 10320 Eldorado Fortress; future contests and this forum in general have no such requirement. Ever take a look at the MOCs in the Pirate MOC Sub Forum or Brethren of the Brick Seas Forum? Because if you had paid attention, you'd notice builders who adhere to outdated building techniques, old colour schemes, and despise fleshy figures are a very small minority. Despite Steve topping two of the three polls, I guess you were in too much of hurry to read this topic in its entirety, because in another post I specifically said: Because there's no reason we can't have both to please the hardcore Classic Pirate fans and those who'd prefer more creative freedom, without going as far as saying "free choice".
  6. So these are just slipcases and underneath is beautifully designed box art? So in effect this is the answer to my above question?
  7. Classic-Pirates.com was born out of the LEGO Pirates Forum. The LEGO Pirates Forum was as born specifically in response to the the classic LEGO Pirates theme, and then over time that got expanded to Napoleonic Wars, Age of Sail, Aztec, Maya, Inca, and Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise. Well, exactly what do you want?

  9. And what a fine set it is! Is that an authentic flintlock musket leaning against your arm?
  10. They don't really go anywhere for the box design of these later BrickLink Designer sets...
  11. This seems to be a common sentiment among AFOLs regarding BrickLink Designer sets not being considered as "official" sets. However, in the case of Ominous Isle; is really that far removed from an official set? For the most part it seems to continue the design aesthetic established in Barracuda Bay rather than leaning to heavily into the builder's own esoteric aeshetic.
  12. Then you might be waiting years for another new pirate-themed set to be released...
  13. Incorrect! As per the official BrickLink Designer Program Series 2 webpage:
  14. That's the minimum pre-order threshold for all BrickLink Design Program sets. Any less, and it's not worth producing the set!
  15. Ominous Isle will be able for pre-order on 6th June at 8am PT and cost US $239.99 /AU $339.99. More photos and details in the Blog Post.
  16. It's insane! It's out of this world! It's got Steve in the video preview image!
  17. Aye! Nay
  18. Then might as well publish the blog post based on the initial video sooner, rather than later.
  19. Then we may speculate they did not vote for Steve hence why Monkey Island Madness is popular on Facebook. But I acknowledge that the Brethren of the Brick Seas crowd is enthusiastic about venturing beyond the traditional Caribbean setting. So maybe that could tie in with The Infamous Steve - because Steve's adventures may have taken place all over the world. And then Monkey Island Madness could be saved for a future contest.
  20. Any estimate on how many episodes you're likely to produce? A blog post is in the works based on the "ALL THINGS LEGO Dungeons & Dragons!! Let's Discuss!!" video but maybe it's better go group all the episodes in a single post.
  21. Yes, niche among LEGO Pirate fans who've collected the classic sets... which just so happens to be who the contest is aimed towards. Just out of curiosity... did you vote for Steve?
  22. Thank ye for yer feedback! It wasn't so much the entrant's preference as the contest specifically instructed them to take a classic approach. I.e. create a new classic-style LEGO Pirate set or modernise an older official LEGO Pirate set. The poll data seems to disagree. Across the three polls, Pirates of Pop Culture is one of the least favoured options. In this poll topic and on Classic-Pirates.com The Infamous Steve is in the lead The Facebook poll paints a somewhat different picture with Monkey Island Madness in the lead. So when given the choice between general pop culture or a franchise-specific directive, poll respondents seem to prefer the latter. Although, Facebook poses a caveat in not being able to include an image proceeding the poll options. So some respondents may being voting for Monkey Island Madness out of familiarity because they recognise the name, whereas the other three options need to be illustrated to be fully understood. But in all polls, the infamy of Steve shines through...
