  1. Is there supposed to be a chronology to the order of the minifigures? It looks like they are roughly grouped in order of release but there are some errors. For example, the mustachioed pirate between "Steve"/The Merchant from Imperial Trading Post and King Kahuka should be positioned in the first row as variations of this minifigure were available from the beginning of theme in 1989.
  2. I would like to nominate the dolphin from the upcoming 41380 Lighthouse with Floodlight because he is a very friendly dolphin and when a pirate falls overboard, he can come to the rescue! He can also put on a show to keep everyone happy!
  3. Nice index, Imperial Outpost seems to have potential as it evokes sets from the original Pirates theme... (Should it not be named "Armada Outpost" to be consistent with Armada Sentry and Armada Flagship?) However, it lacks design innovation and could use more colour. The structure should be placed at the rear of the baseplate. The playability takes place at the front of the design, so more water frontage makes sense. Needs more red. Observe how Armada Sentry balances the white and green with red accessories and a splash of yellow. We've seen plenty square/block architecture in past LEGO Pirate forts, maybe try some curves The middle of the outpost should not be walled off, it needs to be open - should have an arched window or some clever architecture to open the space up. Needs a sail boat with a second pirate (think Lagoon Lockup) Should have a palm tree - this is a staple of sets at this price point. Some kind of action feature would make things more interesting. John Cook is breaking out, so base an action feature around that. Even though there are a generous number of accessories, the design still feels a bit empty, although I suspect this is a result due of lack of colour. Those suggestions aside, this is still a good effort, but it does feel as though I could undergo more refinement.
  4. Not like it has't been done before... Check out the 1990's Paradisa theme...
  5. What if Barbe-Rogue was the inspiration for both Red Beard and Ironhook?
  6. The pirates have had their glory...
  7. There would however, have to be sufficient demand to justify finding the time... Need well more than three people to get me motivated.
  8. I also have a recurring dream about walking through a store and discovering new Imperial Guard sets that I was unaware of... But I can never quite seem to remember what the sets look like afterwards.
  9. I keep having this recurring dream the next wave of pirate sets is focused on Islanders... but they're not the same as the Indigo Islander, they look a lot more fierce.
  10. Ah yes... life seems to have gotten in the way. Actually, I started working on a new skin but didn't get very far - however, with enough nagging it could get finished one day.
  11. They sure will. Game-hunting is not my thing, if I wanted to build the sets, I'd buy used copies at a significantly lower price. Besides, I already have them in used condition two or three times over.
  12. WHAT!!! People complained about the Imperial Flagship? (I assume you're referring to 10210 and not 6271) Finally a solider ship that can rival the Black Seas Barracuda and Skulls Eye Schooner!
  13. The latest releases also marked the return of the blue coats which is something many had been requesting ever since the 2009 releases. Indeed! Also the soldiers got an updated flag printed directly onto a brick rather than some horrible sticker.
  14. Yeah! Or we'll knock yer Megablok off!
  15. Only in the past year? Better late than never!
  16. NIce haul! Are these still sealed? The perforated thumb tabs still look intact.
  17. It's reassuring to know these Ninjago "pirate" sets can be put to good use. At a cursory glance it seemed only Tiger Widow Island was remotely decent - come to think of it, remove all the techno crap and it would make a half decent set in the original Ninja theme.
  18. Thank you, Phred! Here is the reverse side of the Service Pack packet packaging in case anyone was wondering...
  19. Holy Aioli! Am I still Pirate Staff? I've neglected the forums so much lately it's a wonder I haven't been passed the black spot. That aside, Skaforhire is a very welcome addition to the crew.
