  4. Welcome to Eurobricks, @classicbuilder! You ever created a pirate themed MOC?
  5. Welcome @Leverandon, we have something in common! Although, I've only be able to focus on pirates, unfortunately I have yet to get around to castle and space.
  6. You're welcome, @Chrismo72 - yes, let's hope your contribution is an inspiration to everyone!
  7. This looks like an interesting creation - do you have more photos?
  8. This is the correct forum for all Town/City related MOCs, the only reason the recent MOCs are mostly focused on buildings and modulars is because nobody has posted anything different! So thank you for exploring other aspects of LEGO Town!
  9. Eurobricks member PaddyBricksplitter introduces us to the alien Insectoid gunslinger! With four guns blazing, don't miss the shoot out in the LEGO Action Figures Forum.
  10. I may have also revised your topic title to perhaps be a little more... "compelling" shall we say...
  11. Eurobricks member Captain Braunsfeld shares with us photos from his creation... The HMS Colourless: Lovechild of Steamboat Willy and a Pirate Ship. Check out this interesting concoction in the LEGO Pirates MOC Forum for more photos and the black and white charm of old cartoons.
  12. So this is the lovechild of LEGO® Ideas 21317 Steamboat Willie and a pirate ship?
  13. That's a good idea, however the rest of the Eurobricks staff would need to approve such a discussion.
  14. Eurobricks member RoxYourBlox has shared with us an architectural feat... a functioning time device which he's named the Happy Hourglass! So to stay on schedule, click here to head over to the LEGO Technic and Model Team Forum for photos and videos of this glockenspiel-style grandfather clock.
  15. Formatting should be used sparingly. Bold to emphasize keywords, underline to indicate hyperlinks, italics to indicate quoted text or references. However, you do have a valid concern, when frequently used in conjunction, formatting can become a bit overbearing and/or distracting. It's a good idea providing the designers wish for such acknowledgement but not something I'd prioritize at this time. I'm more focused upon ensuring regular MOC updates on the Eurobricks Frontpage.
  16. When creating new tags or ranks, the question we need to ask; is what benefit(s) to the Eurobricks community does it have? From observation over the history of Eurobricks, it seems the majority like receiving such acknowledgements for their efforts, so this could act as incentive for other Product Designers to share their creations and engage in discussion on Eurobricks. However, I would not like to assume on their behalf, maybe they'd prefer to remain anonymous, so that's where research is beneficial.
  17. Ok, so they last visited Eurobricks three years ago, was that because they were harassed here and decided not to return, or could there be other reasons? E.g. they're extremely busy people and already frequent other AFOL fansites so they don't have time to visit Eurobricks.
  18. Instead of assuming the potential ramifications of identifying these designers, you could ask them for their thoughts on the matter... then based on their input, determine the most suitable course of action. LEGO Ambassadors have their own rank at Eurobricks and as far as I'm aware they don't get harassed. So why would it be any different for designers? I was LEGO Ambassador for three years, and in conjunction with my Governor Rank I also had the LEGO Ambassador logo directly beneath. Nobody harassed me or made the slightest fuss about it.
  19. Eurobricks user Markus1984 has shared this delightful creation based on a scene from season 3 of Game of Thrones. To witness the scene in all its LEGO glory, hurry yourself over to the LEGO Historic Themes Forum and kiss the masters goodbye.
  20. To my knowledge all LEGO Pirate posters came folded so therefore they will contain creases no matter how pristine condition they're in. Unless, somewhere they were available without set inclusion, but I'm not aware of this ever being the case.
  21. While this is true in my case, some members here weren't even born until after LEGO discontinued Pirates original run. If you've read their annual reports, you'll have observed The LEGO Group is making quite a generous gross profit, so far from "making ends" meet. Indeed, the company was in a precarious financial situation in the late 90's and early 2000's, but that's well behind them. Several years back, they hired consultants to determine how to optimize profits, the outcome of which has been highly successful. I feel this is somewhat to the detriment of Pirates as they've only released tested set concepts for recent pirate waves, rather than exploring new ideas which were absent from the original pirate sets.
  22. Given the Pirates theme predates widespread Internet usage, the LEGO Group did not release digital versions of their posters at the time of the Pirate sets release, nor am I aware of them having ever released digital versions since. Which is a pity, because these posters are nice and it would be great to have them without the creases or signs of wear and tear.
  23. Excuse the late reply @LegoModularFan but I've barely been active in almost 3 years and have only returned in the past couple of months so I'm still catching up. I think many of the senior staff members are in a similar situation, we're pushing 40 now (or some already have) so we get tied up with other responsibilities like family and work, and thus Eurobricks gets put on the back-burner . Before I get too busy to visit the forum again I intend to put a few things in place for the LEGO Pirates Forum. One of those will be training a volunteer to post Pirate MOCs on the Eurobricks Frontpage, but if that goes well, I could perhaps train more volunteers to do the same for other themes. I see this was discussed several months back but it doesn't seem as though anything eventuated from it - correct me if I'm mistaken! Currently, I'm updating the frontpage myself so I can ascertain the best process for doing so, but this isn't something I intend in the long-term. I'd rather put a system in place so the task can be delegated enabling me to focus on other areas.
  24. Eurobricks member Bricked1980 presents his latest MOC, Brick Square Post Office, built as a 1950s style British building. So for speedy delivery of your LEGO mail, CLICK HERE to visit the post office in LEGO Town Forum!
  25. Nice work! Please keep us informed should you acquire the other magazine.
