  1. I do not keep close records and I have sold off a number of parts (10,000+) and figures (1000+) in the last several years so it is difficult to determine even if I had counts. Plus I have purchased seven or more collections from others ranging from 10-100 lbs worth. I would guess I currently have near 500,000 parts and 2700 figures. I am cutting this down though as it is taking too much room and requires more time to organize and maintain that I would rather use in building or enjoy life outside of the brick.
  2. I hope it is over and we can get new Greek or Roman series. I don't care if the new series is fantasy or more historical; I would like to see some variety in the series. In fact, after seeing the toy story figures I am hoping we could see some sweet new minotaur and a new color for the buck beak mold. If we do get castle again I truly hope they start a storybook series. The swan knight, the king arthur stories, or even some of the brother grimm stories would be excellent. Just the right mix of fantasy and realism. Either way, if the medieval mqrket place does well I think we will see another similar adult castle set.
  3. PoP is not all that exciting for me as I do not collect any flesh figures. Many of the torsos have flesh printed into them and that makes them less usable for customs or modded figures. The head wraps are cool looking but end up being extremely limiting in terms of use. The highlights are the turkish helm, animals, and the hair pieces. Toy story is rather exciting though. First because LEGO is taking minifigures further than they ever have before. The willingness to go with longer arms and legs, and highly detailed plus size heads makes me excited for the future of the minifigure. Sure the heads are not so great but the torsos will work perfectly for western, space, and for the first time ever military figures. The idea of interesting alien figures seems very cool I am now looking forward to the Ben 10 stuff. Overall, I think these will be excellent additions for LEGO and I am planning on getting several of the Toy Story sets just for the figures, something I have not done for many of the previous years sets.
  4. I may be able to help you with most of the parts you are looking for all at once. I am not sure I have counts on all of them that high but most will be close. What do you have to trade?
  5. I just want to say first that regardless of what mixture of pieces is available, it is price that will ultimately determine the number of purchases and the amount. I get the whole profit portion of business but 3 basic bricks for $1 is entirely overpriced unless they are huge bricks. Please reconsider and establish fair prices for each and every piece. With that out of the way, I am most drawn toward specialty, minifigure, and hard to find parts. The standard bricks, plates, and slopes are less interesting and I have many of them especially in the classic red, blue, yellow, black, and white. What I would like to see is an expanded availability of sand green, dark green, dark blue, dark red, dark teal and lime green. I have no interest in standard wheels, doors, or windows as a castle and space fan. I would like to see transparent windows in anything but smoke, clear, light blue for space and moonbase themes. For castle it would be nice to have accessories for peasants and townspeople including things like flags, coins, and especially animals. In fact I would love to see a great increase in the animals and animal accessories on PaB. 10-15% minifigure, 20% accessories, 5-10% animals, 15% bricks, 15% plates, 10% slopes, 15-25% other. Also, a huge selling point for me would be the availabilty of parts in current sets or in sets in general. I want parts in colors I can no longer get in sets or that were never in sets in the first place far more than I do the parts currently available in several sets. Old parts on new colors or hard to find parts from expensive sets such as the new cows.

    FSC-Vehicle

It has a lot of parts that sort of stick out or look kind of tacked on. I get that impression mostly because of the yellow and light gray colors. I would try to streamline the car to incorporate those parts in closer to the main body. Perhaps an eight wide body with a six wide top would look great. I would also attach the main engine with a more sturdy connection. I guess I would look to make this more family sized and to tuck all the flying parts in closer to or into the main body of the vehicle. The things I like are the multiple engine points to allow verticle, horizontal, and forward thrust. The shaping and design of the car makes it look sturdy and like a family vehicle rather than the sports car style many people go for. I like the tan/yellow/gray color scheme and the cool shapes you are getting with some of those parts. I would also think adding lights and some sort of landing gear/wheels would be a must as it is dark in space and whether the family is going to a tropical alien beach or an intergalactic truck stop, they will likely need to land at some point. I look forward to seeing what changes you can come up with.
  7. I come to EB to read LEGO news, reviews, and to participate in discussions with like-minded adults (and teens). I would not invest any time into a reputation function myself. If I care enough about what someone posted I will reply to it. Auto function "thanks" or reputation buttons are lazy and I think they would detract from creating quality posts rather than encourage them. I know I wouldn't use such functions at least.
  8. Of course staff gets paid. They get all the sass, back talk, gibberish, and idiotic posts as regular pay and if they do a good job Jipay lets them read and participate in the decent threads. That and the special magic rings Jipay sends them in the mail. They need those to ban members and delete threads. Of course . . . one ring to rule them all!
  9. How many figures including aliens come with airtanks? This is space police right? Oh and I must have forgotten that this was SP3 we were talking about seeing as it is a poll based solely on SP3 and I participated. I must have missed the memo that says new themes need to have ugly and boring colored figures with even worse prints on them. The Insectoid prints were even better than these and those are bad. Why do I want leg or back printing, it just drives up the cost of sets as printing LEGO parts always cost more and I would prefer more parts/figures or lower costs than extra printed parts that become more difficult to use outside of the theme. I have already said my farewells to mediocre SP3. No, your right. Power miners has a superior color theme and parts and as such comes off looking better than any of the SP3 sets. Not that SP3 needed to have such vibrant colors but cetrainly something better the same white/transblue color scheme or the boring uniforms. The alien outfits are even worse, Kranxx looks like an alien drag queen, the twins are reject Octan employees, then you have a freakish troll wannabe, squid man with jumbo head and crooked eyes, and the naked green fellow falshing the universe planet, sorry no air tanks, his alien junk. The ships look like graffitied variations of what would have been really nice designs but again the colors and parts that seem tacked on ruin it for me. I prefer ships with airtight cockpits as well but these must be planetary craft not meant for space. So that places the whole series on a planet in the future. Why call it Space Police then? Why not call it Future Police or Police 2295? I prefer a little more space and a whole lot more color and style in my SP. That and bad guys who are more than petty crooks and vandals. The poll included options for those who dislike SP3 and I thought I would add some commentary about why I think the theme failed to be something special just like many people were doing for why they like it. I am glad both of you want to think that the entire police force of an intergalactic organization can share three airtanks and manage to make a difference outside of the alien ghetto this theme seems to be stuck in.
  10. Space police disappoints me mostly due to color choices. I dislike pretty much every color choice in the series. This series doesn't feel anything like the space of old and that is the space I like. Castle is the same way for me. There are lots of parts in the sets I like but other than a select few parts I have no interest in these sets. I would love to get ahold of alien heads and matching hands in a decent quantity so I could make my own aliens and leave the gangster/hoodlum story behind. Sadly, the minis don't have matching hands so I can't do just swap them. The space police are in my opinion, worthless. I hate the dark bley, open helmets, no air tanks, generic futuristic cop look. I love the classic Futuron look with red visor and I like the green second series look. I wish they would have done something more in that vein than they way they went. In fact if the SP3 figures had gone in colors like bionicle: dark red, dark green, dark blue, white, black, and light brown but with the classic futuron design I would likely be hording figures and sets right now. As it is I haven't gotten a single set yet. I will wait until I can get them on sale and then sell off the parts I don't want which is most of them.
  11. Batman was cancelled because it wasn't selling well at the time. I got dozens of Batman sets at 50% or more off. Prices are going up because collectors are either desperate or not so bright and sellers are getting greedy. Of course I think anybody looking to spend more than a few dollars per figure is a little off kilter. What makes it worse is that most of the sellers got those sets for $35 or less and are looking to make some good money off all the late comers.
  12. I have a complaint. This site doesn't have enough mean mods and staff. You know the kind, they yell at you, send you nasty PMs, and make fun of your MOCs and posts. My suggestion is to institute a single dictator-mod who would go around bossing everybody and having tantrums. Let me know what you think. Or better yet, go all crazy and yell at me and call me names.
  13. This is a castle builders dream set except that it is a HP set and not a castle one. This is one of the three sets I ever payed full price for. I ended up getting several of this set and if it was available today at retail costs I would get many more. It has fabulous colors, parts, and accessories including the elusive gray flag and the golden snitch. An interesting fact about this set is that some came with golden studs and other came with a bronze variant. Harry Potter sets before the color change are some of my all time favorite sets from LEGO. I can't seem to say much good about those after though. The $10 sets that came out each year for HP were always excellent and this one my favorite followed closely by the one from year one with Hermione.
  14. All you need is the password from the seller. Both shipping and price restrictions have a password you can use and there is even one for when a store is closed allowing you to place an order.
  15. I love it. The transformation looks like an authentic one from the toy series and the head is great. Most transformers lack in that area but you have a nice look going here including the color scheme.
  16. The LEGO store in the Mall of America had the same lame options when I was there last week. I did go once when they had all the parts for the new (back then) dark blue castle princess. I think got five or six plus five extra hair pieces instead of whatever other extras they had. Some days I wonder if LEGO realizes how valuable minifigures are. They try to push five old figures in a fancy box for way too much, cram four or five SW figures plus parts into a box for 10, and 30-something town figs for 42. They is no consitency at all it seems. What I really want to see is bulk packs for series like the town one. A space police or castle box like that would be amazing. SW I think has issues so they couldn't, but even a power miners box would be cool.
  17. If we get a monorail, it will likely be for a city exclusive using a new method of track and propulsion entirely. The old molds are gone and the engines cost too much from what I remember reading. A new monorail in the old style would cost hundreds of dollars. I am hoping we can get a new monorail in a new style that will be flexible and easy to use in multiple ways and also remain affordable. Something similar to the new trains sets we have coming out.
  18. I think it is actually a way to creat snot building at exactly two plate thickness. Neither of the pin methods will match perfectly when building as the small lip on the pins adds to the thickness of the technic. Not a practical or cheap method of building though. Most parts won't work like this and neither are very strong. I am longing for the day LEGO releases new double sided plates in various sizes and colors.
  19. Thanks so much for your comments. The black areas are meant to look similar to hardened lava flows. That is why the lake was there. This used to be a volcano and it is only by the effort of many that the tree is still standing while everything else is gone. The contrast is somewhat lacking though and I should have used more reference pictures or left the black to show more. I was trying to get a weathered and changing landscape to show but the tan wasn't the best choice to make that happen. Thank you for your comments and putting this on the front page. Thanks! I do too. Thanks, it it nice to have other builders like what you are able to come up with. Yes, that fellow looks a lot like you, though I don't it is you. Thanks Guss. Lots of parts went into this though I don't know if it exceeds the pixels count even with such small pictures. The lighting and camera focus I used don't show all the details at once. With the apeture set this way I could "force" the viewer to look at only what is most important in each shot. Thanks for the comments. I love the tree. It is huge and very fragile to touch. I am always afraid something is going to fall off it. I will need to dismantle it soon or risk warping the bricks permantly due to the stress on some of them to hold up all the branches. Be paitent if you build and take time to re-enforce your branches as you go or you will end up mending constantly. Thanks. It is a very big tree and the texture turned out great. Well I spent many hours building and planning so I hope it is enjoyable to see all the details I packed in. I posed each and every figure, some more dynamically obviously. I am happy to see that you enjoyed my efforts.
  20. I want to say first off, thank to everybody who wrote something. I appreciate the comments and any criticism you might have for me. Thanks Sandy. The chaos of battle is exactly what I was going for. I think if you look at some of the pictures on page two they have a more birds eye view. Sadly the lighting isn't all that great so it is hard to show all the details. That and the fact that this sits on four large gray baseplates. Sadly only the lowest floor is hollowed out. If I had more time I would have loved to make the tree into sort of housing solution for many of the peasants and creatures. The contest ends tomorrow and I needed to get this finished last weekend so I couldn't do more with it. It is huge. I used up almost all of my brown bricks both new and old colors, all my foliage, and most of my small brown plates. The pictures don't show the full size well either. I wish I could show this in person somehow. And yes, that is Hink fencing with stale bread. I love that too. Thanks for noticing it. The villagers have only two swords among the lot of them and the rest had to fight with what they could. Thanks. You know, I find that the wizards add something extra to a castle battle. The magic adds a fun look to the scene and is a great way to show movement which is sometimes difficult with minifigures. Thank you. This was an awesome build for me. And kudos to you for noticing the layers. There are many layers of building and hopefully the layers of action are coming through too. The whole build took two weeks and I put a lot of time into it. Multiple layers of bricks, plates, foliage, and figures went into this not to mention the tree, which was like adding a second set of layers to the whole thing. I am extremely pleased with what I ended up with.
  21. Here is my entry. Sadly, this MOC is too big to move and is sitting in the basement where the lighting is so poor. I would have loved to get it out into the sun to let the details shine. Let me know what you think. The picture is a link to the BS folder.
  22. I like the transport. You got the colors down and the shape is interesting and fun. The escorts seem not so great to me. The lack of canopy for the pilots invites added problems and limits them to atmospheric flight only. I also dislike the trans-red parts, those would be better in trans neon green by far. Landing gear seems totally absent unless I missed it somehow. You might want to consider adding some. I like the idea a lot though and your overall designs are very creative.
  23. How big are the branches? I would use these arches normally with a few 1x3 or 1x4 plates in the corresponding color and then plant parts on top. If it is bigger than that, like say for an ewok village size limb, I would use 2x2 plates of the needed length with bricks on top and then switch to some of the arches or use more plates. See below The round bars with clips or hands on them work nicely as small branches or trimmed brush.
  24. Never saw more than a few minutes of the show. Looking at the pictures and thinking about these comments and who made them I can only see this going in a quasi-bionicle/technic/system of 5-12 inch figures with soft plastics and high range of movement. They won't be galidor as that was a mistake. It won't even be like the maxi-knights from a few years ago as those did't do all that well. I can't see these as system based sets as the bionicle system sets didn't work out so well, and I don't think they will be so similar to standard bionicle. Instead I can picture them as a more smoothed out variety of posable construction figures like bionicle, something like studless technic could be compared with the older studded version. "studless bionicle" if you will. Large smooth premolded parts with limited connectivity but high posability and interchangability.
