Codename for the new Nintendo system that will come out later this year. Check Here for info about it. Once E3 happens there will be more definite info about the system. There is a lot to it. New controller, new way to play games, improved graphic (not as much as PS3 or Xbox360), can download and play games from the 8 bit era until now including Nintendo, Sega and Turbographix and more. It looks very promising and is supposed to be affordable.

I like this ship. It is very nice. Colors and shape both are a good fit. I would redo the cockpit and add a little to the underside. Consider removing the guns from the front of the engines unless this is a space only fighter in which case there is no need for air intake. Everything else is looking good. MOC on and welcome back *ewok*

Word is that the DS lite will launch in Europe June 9th or 16th, with the Revolution getting released in Japan in June/July and the rest of the world in September/October. The Revolution will launch in white only, with black and other colors following soon after. The sensor bar that goes under the TV will match the color of your Revolution. And games on the Revolution's Virtual Console should sell for 25$-30$. Won't happen. Rev will launch at best in Sep. in Japan but I think Oct./very early Nov. is much more likely, with each area (US, EU, Jap) getting them a week or two apart. White will probably be the color. That is too much money for an 8-bit game. I hope they have some sort of discounted or tier price system. Completing a decent retro games selection would cost upwards of $1000's. I am hoping for $5-15 max. I can still get 64 games in second hand stores for under $5. I most likely won't pay more than $15. I don't see how it would be affordable. Rumours surrounding Namco state that the original Soul Blade game for PSX will be remade for the DS and all the next gen consoles will have Soul Calibur 4 released on them. Tomb Raider will be released on the Revolution. And the DS and Cube version of Tomb Raider Legend will have some "extras" that aren't in the other console versions. Doesn't excite me. Don't really like those games so, eh. Nights into Dreams is already 65% complete and his being directed by Yuji Naka. It will use the Revolution controller only, no attachments. This may actually happen, though I doubt it will be available at launch. I am curious about this game as I never played it. A new version might be sweet. Retro Studio is giving Kid Icarus a complete makeover for its Revolution debut. The name of the game is Icarus. Good choice for the studio. These guys make the Metroid Prime games. I guess since they took metroid from the 2d side scrolling era and made it into a good 3d adventure game, Nintendo is hoping for the same with Icarus. I think this gen of games will be the rebirth of any noteworthy IPs Nintendo ever made. I am expecting to see Punch Out and Duck Hunt come back as well. I doubt this will be for launch. A new Star Fox game is in development. It will rely solely on the Revolution controller for control. I hope so. Star Fox needs to have a really great game made. There is a horse racing game in development aimed at the Japanese market. I heard it was a Mario horse racing game. It could happen. Not sure I would want it though. Fight Night is in development by EA and will use 2 controllers. A Burnout game is in development for the Revolution. I doubt it. Two controllers? No way. One controller is more than enough. 35 development kits were sent to Rockstar London/Take Two about a month ago. No info on what game(s) they are planning to do, but it seems unlikely that it's going be a GTA game. (Maybe there new ping pong game?) Interesting, but why 35? Wouldn't 3 or 4 be enough? I don't buy GTA games so if that is what is coming, blah! Ubisoft has 9 games in development, many of which are launch titles. Prince of Persia is being considered for Revolution. I heard there were 2 Ubi games, Red Steel and Rayman (both are confirmed). Nine in development?, doubtfully. Super Smash Bros. for the Revolution will be subtitled "Mayhem". Good name hope it's true. Nintendo and Valve were in talks during in March about bringing an exclusive new version of Counter Strike to the Revolution. I can see it happening. I think it won't until the Revmote proves to be great with FPS. The Revolution controller in Zelda: Twilight Princess will be used in combination with the shell. Its use will be limited, for example, using it in situations where you are in First Person View. However, the rumors also say that there will be an exclusive dungeon that exploits the new features of the controller with a new item. Rumours are rumbling about the graphics of Zelda: Twilight Princess, they say that we will be greatly surprise at E3 when we see new screenshots/gameplay of the game. I don't guess anything about Zelda. I try to read as little about it as possible. I want the mystery there when I play. Pikmin 3 is completely finished. It will use the Revolution controller exclusively. (We all knew Pikmin would come out on the Revolution, I mean the controller is made for this type of game) Very likely, if not finished close. I can see this as a launch title. There will be online launch titles from both Nintendo and 3rd parties. Sega games on the Virtual Console will be available for download on day one. That should not have to be a rumor. It should be common sense on Nintendo's part. Midway is developing three exclusives for the Revolution. Probably true. Almost all games will be exclusive due to the console design. It can't run many games the others can. Not enough bells and whistles on the Rev. Two Rpgs and some new/weird games will be shown at E3. I am sure. Lot of games will be shown. Developers have known the new name of the console since January. Probably, but I would have expected a leak of it by now. I have seen some guesses and right now it seems like G O, Blue Wave, and RS are the prime choices. I don't care what they call it. I will get on even if they call it the Nintendo Happy Happy Bunny Garden Wonder Box. We must keep our eyes on Zoonami. (I've heard the name of the company lots of time, but I've never seen a game released by them). Never heard of them. I will keep an eye open. Capcom will show 2 titles for Revolution at E3. Can anyone say Mega man? Red Steel will not be the only game revealed prior to E3, although Nintendo will not show anything till then I have heard about quite a few games. Though not all that many names. With under two weeks left before E3 if this is true we will see something within a week I would say. Please note these should be taken with a grain of salt, but if any of this is true... *sweet* Note taken. Some are obvious and will happen. Others seem too much like wishful thinking. I will wait until E3 and not get my hopes up too high. The real rumor I want answered is the possibility of stereoscopic 3d and what that would involve. Thanks Optimus for the rumors!

Ed traded me this set. It was the one set I really wanted but never got. I have one now and I don't wonder why I liked it so much in the catalogs. Thanks Ed! Best forestmen set. Another nice review.

Great castle. Nice review.

The shogun is as in many legends very powerful warrior who is capable of holding his own. The fact that the Samurai forces know about the attack in advance allows them to counter attack. The shogun leads the attack due to his unmatched skill in war and battle, the very skill which allowed him to become shogun in the first place. It is he who cleaved the one ninja in two, relieved one of his hand and is about to dispatch of the other he is kicking. In Japan it is about honor and skill and no other warrior on the field can match the shogun's. In the case of the white ninja, it is obvious that she is not worried about being seen and noticed. In fact she wears white to instill fear at her coming and to prey on the superstitions of the samurai. Making them doubt her humanity/spiritual state makes her role easier and helps her fellow ninja. LEGO is hard enough to picture in good strong daylight. Perhaps if I edited them to be more blue tinted or increased the dark levels and up the contrast it could convey the effect you are talking about but the contest does not allow for that. And besides all that the whole idea of a LEGO battle scene is imagination and cool poses. Anything less than that limits creativity and takes the fun out of building.

Well, the ninjas never actually make it into the building. Suprise was lost in the battle to an observant guard and after losing the initial rush (what you see in the picture) they pulled back having failed. The goal was the death of the regional shogun. He is seen in the white in the pictures. The tree had to be small and look well tended. The doubling of the flowers worked very nicely. And thanks. A fountain or stream would have been a great addition. If the scene was a little wider I think I would have added one. The building is a test and I am looking forward to making a few Japanese style buildings in the future. The black ninja army is nice to have. I will be making a dojo for them in the near future also. Send me a PM with what you are thinking concerning the PS. I will see what I can do. I would have to agree. There were many good entries this year but EBers had some of the best all around. Should I have? :-$ The ropes broke when the scissors got to them. >:-) They were fairly cheap to make such cool weapons. Only 0.12 per rope and you can get four chucks out of it. Outside of Spidey the ropes don't have many uses and i was not about to start cutting the only brown rope I have. 8-

For the second annual CC battle contest I made this battle scene with the Shogun and his masterful samurai versus a gang of dreaded black ninja and the fearsome ninja princess! It's the Shogun Showdown! Full Brickshelf Gallery Let me know what you think. What would you change/improve? MOC on!

I am all for increased castle traffic/attention. Castle is my #1 theme for LEGO and I am willing to help in part. Maybe we could get a sort of castle tutorial thread started. To help builders improve and learn new MOC skills. A contest is always fun but for castle contests CC really has the standards and the better prizes. Maybe mini contests like the caption contests or even bigger contests for nothing but pure bragging rights or if Yoda is feeling generous titles for members. I have not taken the time to build much lately myself and I am really feeling it. I have some ideas floating around that are just begging to be let loose upon the bricks. Maybe we could get people interested in a MOC a month club. That way people have time to build something (not always castle of course) and there would be plenty to talk about. Using other peoples MOCs from bs is okay but not as good as getting it direct from the builder. We shouldn't stop highlighting good stuff though either. Work in progress type topics might be of some value also. A builder would start something take a few pictures and ask some opinions when they get stuck or would like some feedback. Then as it progresses they could update the original topic until the unveil the final design. It worked well with a recent ship thread though the final design didn't get all that much response (even though it was much improved over the original). I am out of ideas. I will help where I can. I will start with a MOC and try to get one done and pictured before April ends. Long live LEGO castle *sing* , and down with its enemies! *skull*

Well, I am not sure what to say about this MOC yet. I think it is a very good start on what could be really great. I has the color and size down pretty good but I think you could use some variation and details to make it better. I would recommned adding a window, some sort of generator for power and air conditioning and maybe a moisture vaporator to collect water. Another nice thing I think it could use is some white bricks and areas. That way it won't look all one color or blobbish. Finally a really nice extra would be funiture for inside or maybe make the inside into the robot repair area from the movie with an oil bath and a workstation. ---Just an off topic mention. Don't delete your old photos from brickshelf. You will appreciate going back in the future and looking at how much better you get with building.--- MOC on!

Think about it for a minute now. So because you did stupid things in your past you should be made fun of and disrespected? Most of the banned members are not even 13 yet. I am 25 and I still do dumb things. I seriously would not be happy if I was given a hard time for something I should have done better. Everyone deserves respect. Spammers deserve to get banned for breaking the rules and that is all they deserve. No more and no less. This whole topic is about ficticious space factions and instead it is turning into make fun of former immature members. Lets keep it about LEGO and fun and not ripping on other people. If you must make fun of someone at least do it to me or an active member so they have the chance to defend themselves.

This sounds like fun and I would be willing to participate. I am also willing to help with the rules and since Phes has already done a game of sort perhaps you should ask his opinion on what works and what doesn't. I for one think participants should have to build at least something small or a few figures for their important characters. If they don't have the parts needed I am sure they could ask another member to make and take pictures of them. Also, from experience, it would not be hard for anyone to build vigs that could be placed together to create a larger MOC. One vig a week would not take more than an hour and if you watch more than an hour of TV you have the time to do that. Vigs are small and after you build them easy to store as well. If you start running out of ideas you could just make beach vigs for some shoreline or some jungle bits for background in your moc. The more interactive building the better this will be I think. Check out places like portblock to see what I mean.

That's great yoda! *sweet* Maybe you should have had him in his pajamas though. :-P ;-)
-
I agree. As fun as it might be I think you will want to make up names for your characters instead of use real former members. If for no other reason than the fact that they may one day become members again. I don't think anyone who was more matured and apologized for causing problems would not be allowed to come back. I do know that some people will not change and as such won't be allowed back but others might once they get older. It would not be very nice for them to come back and find out you had been making fun of them. The whole concept of the spammers vs EB admins is very funny though. It would be more funny if you made up characters instead of using real people though. Fake people can do things real people would not. Thus it opens up all new possibilities such as a ficticious admin using the vortex button to trap a spammer in the nether space. Be creative, have fun, but show respect!

I don't usually do this on a message board...

Welcome to EB. You not that far from me so don't worry about where you live. EB is all about what you like. Besides all LEGO products are indeed Eurobricks as they come from Denmark! MOC on! -
I have changed the pricing a little and everything is at 30% off. Check it out as prices are better than before. Remember if you are not in the US please PM me so we can work out any terms to ensure you get a fair price.

I really like the idea of it and some of the design is great. I think it fails in becoming its own ship due to the many simularities to the Slave 1. If it was built differently I would like it much more. The wings are too similar if not a direct copy, the guns again the same issue and the colors are used in nearly the same fashion which makes this the big fat brother to the Slave 1 or perhaps you could call it Master 1. :-D If you were me then you would use both cockpits back to back and make one long vertical or horizontal cockpit. You would rearrange the colors so it is remeniscent of Slave 1 but clearly different. The colors would be more centralized and less chaotic. Your guns would get a redesign or at least a repositioning and the double "nose" would dissappear. A ship this size may need a few escape pods as well. Of course you are not me so you may do as you please. :-) ;-) A very nice build anyway. It looks like it would be fun to play with and fly around. Your crew is excellent and overall this ship has some class. MOC on

Welcome demo. Nice to have you here. Don't worry about your sets. I am sure you will be able to complete them again but truely be glad you don't have a little sister they don't steal parts they throw whole sets that bust into pieces. :'-(

Welcome to EB the home of pirates *pirate* and so much more *yoda* *knight* *alien* *wub* *skull* I sure you will have a good time posting here.

I have heard more girls say they would want girl castles more than city stuff. I showed a few friends the new girl castle duplo and they all said I would have loved to get something like that when I was little. The general talk that followed then went on to include a desire for more readily available girl LEGO sets and in particular girl castle stuff. Email an ambassador with your ideas. Maybe it will work out but I wouldn't get my hopes up. LEGO has done enough testing to know that girl LEGO simply does not sell as well as the stuff for boys.

Nice stuff. I wish LEGO would be using parts creatively like that. Or at least making a few new parts for the lady figures. Something more feminine. I don't much care for these other than for display. Using hands like he does makes for fragile figures. That MJ is almost too realistic. Sort of creepy. X-O

Thanks Jon. All three of the team members will end up learning 500+ verses word perfect. It really is amazing what they are able to do. I would like to try doing it sometime but I don't think I am disciplined enough. I hope we can make it to $2000 also. I have been getting this ready for a while now. The parts had to be sorted first and 31100 parts is a lot to sort. With some help they were able to get it done in about four hours. Nothing? Not even some of those sweet yellow parts? ;-) That is okay. Thank you for looking.

Click Here or on my link in my signature I am willing to arrange any sale to a foreign country. Please PM me with any interest. I am willing to offer reduced shipping on any order. I am helping out a local group of teens raise funds for travel expenses associated with attending tournaments. The group is a Bible quiz team and you can learn more about quizzing and the see the team on the store splash page. I managed to get some poly bag sets and have listed everything out at the average price. If you buy more you pay less per piece and all orders are shipped for free in the continental US. A low $10 minimum (so as not to lose profit on shipping) is also in place. Please stop by and take a look at the parts. Even if you don

The figure packs were the sets I wanted most. I always had enough bricks to build a castle but most castle sets never had enough men to protect it even though only a handful were attacking. I used to dream of getting some of the figure packs. The best figure pack is this Linkage. Such variety and everything you need to have an adventure. Also a great army and village builder which LEGO still needs. For those that are interested here are some of the older and better figure packs Link.

I finally got to see Narnia. My wife bought it for me for my birthday and I must say it is a good movie. It doesn't follow the book as well as I would have thought and in places it is more grand and where my imagination had failed it dutifully picked up the slack. The pacing is somewhat slow but it should be for this type of adventure story. The first half is explaination and exploration. It is only the second half that really get faster which is good because it climaxes well this way. It never dragged though which I find a bonus. The visuals were great. The animated characters were well done and just off enough to help me believe these are not normal animals but unique. Working on Shrek gave the director a huge help as he could pull off the different animals very well. Much more so than the awful beavers in the British from the 90's, which I don't care what anyone says they were awful. Most of the switch overs between CG and real were seemless but a few noticable ones are there. The background and scenery is wonderful. I give it an all around thumbs up for the visuals. I don't see what all the whining I have read was about though. Many people complained that the Christianity was overpowering and everywhere in the movie and that this felt like another LotR movie or a wannabe LotR. Firstly, I am a Christian so perhaps I am biased but this movie had so little in the way of "preaching" in it that I just couldn't see it. It has many values in it but so does every movie about knights or space. Valor, honesty, self sacrifice vs treachery, deciet and greed are staples in nearly every movie I have ever seen. Concerning LotR, I consider myself somewhat a buff concerning this. I have read the books numerous times (including the Hobbit and Silmarillion), seen the extended versions of the movie at least a dozen times each and even at times debated the material. Narnia is nothing like LotR. The only simulairties are the good vs evil theme and the large battle (which is not like any battle in LotR). If you haven't seen it for these reasons, go see it and ignore what people have said. It is a good story that is a better mix of fantasy than most you will find. I give Narnia a definite thumbs up and if I had any complaint it is like all movies from books in that they took out or changed much of the original.
