  1. All the old models are no longer valid. They are selling parts not bags of parts so most of those items are simply not available in quantity.
  2. When all is said and done if people don't like reviews or the way a person does them then simply don't spend time looking at them. As far as reviews go I have to say I like Norro's the best as they list more of the facts such as price and other ratings but he also makes them personal and funny with the figure comments. If I want to see a new set though I check out Yoda's as he takes great pictures and list all the little details. It is nice to have variety. If someone is making tons of unneeeded reviews admin will let them know.
  3. Much more colorful and full of figures but is it much different/bulkier than the original? Either way it is looking good. The sail colors are mismatched but not awful. I think you would be better making your own with Willy's sail guide.
  4. Great greebs and a good overall shape. Colors are all working together and nothing seems out of place. My only complaint is the cockpit size/location. It looks small and cramped but worse than that one direct hit to the very visible and unarmored cockpit area and your pilot is dead. Most fighters will not have the pilot in the very front as this is the most likely spot to take damage. MOC on!
  5. So your character is in the Star Wars universe then huh. It looks just as you described. Simple and straight forward.
  6. We are now at just over the 20% mark for total funds needed. For the trip this coming 18th-21st of May we need to be at 33% of our goal. Very reachable with a little help I think. If you can help out this week then now is the time to do so. I have reworked some of the prices and you will most of them below the 6th month sold quantity average. Meaning many of these prices are less than what the bulk prices from big sellers and all are below the average. I just went through them all and over half are the lowest price for new items with a quantity of more than 10 in any store in any country. If these were not for a fundraiser I would be buying them at these prices. As of this last week two of the three team members finished memorizing all 515 verses for this year. The third member is just passed 430 and will be finishing the rest of them before the 18th. This gives them three months to perfect them and also to do charting. Charting is used to link key words from multiple verses so they are easier to recall in a quiz. During a quiz, especially in the hard 30 point questions, a quizzer may have to answer a difficult but common four part cross reference question. These questions require all or a portion of four different verses with something in common to be given all word perfect within 30 seconds. No easy feat! At the local tournament held in Duluth last weekend our team took first! Thank you to everyone who has helped out and gotten some LEGO. A big thank you to all who are going to as well. -Dan
  7. Nintendo is looking good for this fall. I will wait to make a judgement until after E3 is over though. Nintendo said they would have 20+ games playable starting today and I want to see what the reactions to them is before I decide anything. Looks are decieveing (graphics) gameplay is not.
  8. You can also spray an odor eliminating spray such as febreeze or oust before washing. This took the smell out of even the rubber tires. I also found that using the hottest water you can get from the tap is better than just warm or kind of hot. The heat releases the odors better and makes the plastic let go of any dirt or grime better. I had to dry out 30 lbs of LEGO at once and found that spreading out towels and placing a fan dried them quick enough. Make sure you flip your parts after they look dry as water settles in all the tubes and corners.
  9. I have always used digging. I have never thought about it much though. 8-| I do dig much any more though because I sort instead.
  10. This is when LEGO started to fall apart. From this point on most sets became great "parts" sets and not great sets. Sets were still released with quality but from here forward it would only get worse. I agree that these parts are excellent and the figures are some of the best. Another nice review!
  11. Jun chi as a monster in the sets. I like the Tigrah head piece though and will make a MOC with it in the future. You will all like it I am sure.
  12. Have not seen a bullet helm. Red bells will come with the new avatar sets but I haven't seen any of the other. Perhaps another rarity bricklink piece.
  13. :-D So true! I like this one better though. Love! The shock value alone sells it but it probably explains the whole split mountain thing if you understand jealousy at all.
  14. Go with something like the first picture in Phes' post. It is very middle era. The fighting top or crows nest is an important feature for archer defenses be sure to include one. And rememnber to include long oars if you have them.
  15. Am I the only one who likes this torso as a sort of elite knight/courtier? Anyone else use it that way? I quite like it as an elite guard. God Bless, Nathan It is actually a good torso for that but it requires the purchase of extra parts. A good set should never requires extra parts that are not included. Regardless of how you use that torso it is my favorite of this line.
  16. Welcome to the boards! That the same reason I stopped playing it You should consider LEGO as an alternative. Much more customizable and not nearly as expensive.
  17. Of course you like it better . . . it's yellow! :-D That is a LEGO piece from Blacktron 1. The golden age of LEGO Space. :'-)
  18. Jon or anybody that went can you write down the names of everyone that went. It looks like a good group were able to go this year. I would love to come out to one of these events. Perhaps I can save enough up to make a good holiday out of it. I already went to Germany so perhaps Billund or Windsow would be more likely for me to attend. Not this coming year though, regardless of location. :'-(
  19. Check out this Glossary Most phrases were coined from all over. This is the list of those that are used often. For the quick answer though MOC- my own creation, something you built SNOT- studs not on top, meaing some of the studs face a direction other than upwards
  20. Space on EB has been sort of quiet lately so I though I would toss out this link for all you space fans to gaze at. I don't know who this is or where they post but they have some seriously great mocs! Not only are their many of them but most are great quality and you can see which ones were earlier made versus the newer and better stuff. Octopunk click next for second page of mocs Check them out. Which ones are your favorites? Shocktoad and Warhawk2 are my favorites. I would buy these if LEGO ever released something like this. Dragonfly is a close runner up. I like the style and functionality of it. One thing I really like is the mixing of styles. Some are mostly standard, others are studless, some are almost completely snotty and overall no two are identical. Hopefully I will get some time to make some of the stuff I have sketched in my notebook. MOC on!
  21. Welcome ultraprime! Have some fun exploring the boards. See you around.
  22. Just took it now. 16/20 with no previous research. Good quiz!
  23. I will be soon enough Willy. I need some time to make a ship first. But it will be featuring custom sails made using your technique. My sails may need a little extra work though as I plan on making them decorated and I will probably need to add more to them to get them able to be painted and protected after the painting. In fact I will be making two or more ships, a pirate vessel and an imperial galleon with the posibility of some small merchant ships. I will of course give credit where credit is due. ;-)
  24. Not the best set ever. Another king we don't need and an okay vehicle. I would have liked to see a princess or queen and the third soldier on a horse with full plated armor. Sort of an escort thing. Definitely not worth the price as is and the blue color seems off. With a girl and knight figure I would say it is a good price and valuable edition to any castle collection. Perhaps one day LEGO will return to such simple designs but with more variety. Another good review Norro.
  25. I think it is a very good name. It is easy to use, easy to remember and easy to market. I mean think about it. A commercial starts Guy; hey ladies I have to get going. :-) Lady1; oh! why? Can't you stay a little longer? :-( Lady2; yes, stay a little longer. 8-| Guy; sorry ladies I am going to fire up the Nintendo and play some Marioparty. :-/ Lady3; Not fair, I don't have a Wii. :'-( Lady2; can we come over and play with your Wii? *sweet* Lady1; I haven't played with one for a while now and I would like to get my hands on one. X-D Guy; Okay, Okay you ladies can come over and play with my Wii. :-D ;-) Imagine Nintendo using the Queen song "We will rock you" and changing all the We's to Wii and having some awesome game footage to go along with it. I have read a lot about all the reactions and seen many of the jokes and pictures for it and I still think it is great. Everyone is talking about it so whether you hate it or love it, people are going to hear about it. I think it is a good name. Very original, very funny.
