I like bley. It doesn't fade or yellow looks nice and in the case of the lighter bley it is nearly identical in color. I say bring on the Legends in bley. Of course most of the sets I would want as a Legend have almost no bley in them. I hope we see a legend or two and maybe a new fan made set also. It would be nice. Steve or Jan if you read this set us up. Or even better get working on those castle accessory packs!

I am not really into these but the red helmut on the fire guy is a must have for me. I almost bought the set for just that piece. I will need to BL it for sure. I haven't decided if I like the other figures or not yet. The parts are nice and all but not what I am into. Great review by the way green guy.

I used to watch soap operas when I was 12 because of all the good looking ladies. Then I realized that there are much more interesting things to do and better looking woman in real life without all the hokey drama. Do yourself a favor and spend more time building with LEGO or playing sports and quit watching the mind rot.

MB has bad quality. I wouldn't buy these as LEGO with good quality can only do so much with ball joints and such. These would be awful and probably fall apart all the time. Not to mention how stupid they look. At least with LEGO you can get a decent resemblence.

This is looking really good and you managed to fit both figure in which is even better. I always have trouble with that. I looked through the gallery and I thought you had two different ships in there at first. Then I realized it is just upside down in the pictures. The colors when it is upside down looked really nice. So, if you rebuild it you should try to get all of the same colors on top like you did on the bottom. Instead of using every piece in the ship try using some of the non fitting colors as a radar station or inside the cockpit if you wanted them in the ship. It may work better that way. Four thrusters and six guns is impressive though and the wing shape is great. I may borrow some of your ideas for a fighter I have in mind.

It is pinkish most likely to be photographed in the late afternoon (redder light) and the reflective nature of such a light color. Greebling is an AFOL created term for adding small details (to break up flat designs) generally to futuristic MOCs. A good example is in the SW ISD. The very middle has a long stripe that is full of greebles. In pirate and castle building we just call it detail. I think it was either the space or train people that came up with the term and we know how weird they are. ;)

Yes it is! :-D For me not to that extreme but for others it is even worse. Still it is nice at the end of the day to say that all of your LEGO was free. If only once in a great while.

You are getting better with each build. I like this one a lot. Nothing really new to add. Swords are weird, I would use a technic half pin with a bomb of some kind. No one will see the hole until you have dropped a bunker bomb on them anyway. Wing supports seem too small, maybe an extra brick width on one side of it. Use plenty of slopes. NIce ship and will be even better once you finish it the way you want it.

I really like this one. The color is an icy look that is very nice. The torso is bulky and sturdy looking and it looks like it could pose nicely. Definitely one of your better builds. Thanks for the inspiration.

Questions for the airport employee with the red hat. What is your role on the plane? Where would the knife have come from? Did you notice anything unusual or suspicious during the flight? Where were you/what were you doing just before the man was found dead? Do you recognize anyone on the plane? What can you tell us about the flight? Who do you suspect commited the murder?

I think this is the new trend. It used to be as many blocky parts as it took to make a shape and have it resemble something. Now it is how can we make this look cool with very few pieces. It isn't like the former parts like castle walls or burps but new designs are making complete deviations. If you like models for display or looks many of the newer sets will be perfect. If you like them for play or layouts they may not be so great.

I got some of these this last weekend. I like them. They are fun to play with until you get surup on them and are the perfect size when torn to pop into your mouth. LEGO my ego man!

That's lame I got last years Super Phes and all he had was interchangable hand an hook parts. I got ripped. As a bonus to living in the United States I was able to get him on clearance for 50% off plus a 20% coupon plus a free Gibbles the monkey island monkey chieftain plushy toy. It pays to live in the US when buying toys. I wonder if I should go find the remains of my Super Phes' melted body or just buy the new one and play mutiny on the high sea again. :-D

I agree this is a little dissapointing. So much potential. :( It has some great details but it looks like they rushed the end just to get it finished. It is still nice but not great. Nothing I would want to display. Might be nice in a game of Evil Steve's though.

Wow, what a popular birthday. Happy birthday to you all!

Futurisic. Not yet reality or never will be reality. This whole topic is on the future of feasible hover technology and whether you could even call it "hover". Also as technology improves and innovation rises you will see more and more hover technology being used. Currently it is making big impacts in the recreational area. New Hovercraft a not as noisy, are many times more efficient in terms of fuel usage and are looking to replace boats. The advantages are huge in terms of cost savings and enen simple things like landing (which requires no dock or boat launch). In the future who knows what will be used by the military. I doubt we will use hover tanks or tanks period. New weapons and advances will make modern day vehicles seem archaic. Consider the new torpedoes Russia and Germany have, the breakthroughs in micro technology in use with animals or even the prototype jets being designed. Way beyond what was available 30 years ago and 30 years from now they will seem obsolete. Why would you want to cross over the Alps anyway? The foot hills are much nicer to look at.
-
I think the real benefits to hover technologies would by that terrain is no longer an issue and that it is much cheaper than many other fuels sources (not solar obviously). With all military vehicles there are drawbacks. A multi million dollar helicopter with a full payload of hellfires and rockets could be taken down by one man with a second rate rocket launcher and only one shot. That same man and several hundred more like him could be destroyed by one jeep full of better train and equipped soldiers. Every advancement or technology with have it's limitations. I like hover technology for things like cars or freight but not tanks. Simply unusable due to the nature of tank armaments. Now even with laser weapons or more advanced balistics aiming with a hover tank will not be as stable as a ground based tank. I think you would need antigravity tanks with complete movement control to achieve the same advantage over terrain and not lose out on attack accuracy. It's all fake of course but still fun to imagine.

This is interesting. It looks very much like a swamp hovercraft but retro fitted and propellerless. I like the circular engine/thrust unit very much and the overall shape is very nice. A nice MOC all around. I don't care for the weapons though. They fit pirate just fine but not as nice for something modern. I also don't see a net launcher or a mount for more powerful arms. :( We recently had a little discussion about hover vehicles and the way they work. I would be interested in you opinion on what makes this vehicle hover. You should check out that thread.

I can't read French so I looked around at what other people are saying. There is no way PS3 will launch this Spring. People are hoping for $400 at launch but I can see $5-600 for just the system and then all the extras *wacko* PS3 has a big task in front of them. I have always prefered Nintendo and I am hoping for a $200 price tag at launch later this year. Nintendo is picking up momentum with even the little bit of info coming out for it. E3 will be the big show and much of the gaming world will be decided there. Either way I shudder to think about all the LEGO I could get with $200-300. At least 50 lbs of it.

Off topic alert! :ninja: Skip all the town workers I want me some pirate dogs, some space explorers and some castle peasants sets. Town is okay but I want the good stuff. 30 figures plus accessories for any of those three themes would sell out faster than anything town ever did.

If this is for space make it airtight or piloted by a robot. If it is futuristic planetary ship then you are okay. Try not to have such blotchy colors. Consider having the top red and the bottom half black. It might make it look nicer. Add something to the cockpit so it can be piloted, levers a steering wheel, something. A good effort and a decent shape. Keep working on it and it will be great I am sure.
-
Sure do. Good effort all around and with a few little touches it could be great. I will give suggestions for each category you listed. Overall View of the landscape Fairly bland. First you need to access the believability of the surround. Water does not, even in fantasy stories, travel above or on the level with the ground around it. Water erodes everything around it. Since your MOC has a prominent water stream going through it only makes sense this is addressed. You should have the cliff look like this ---__------ where the lower lines are the top of the water. You also need more foam or froth of some kind as a waterfall will always have it and the higher/faster it moves the more it will have. You may also try to get creative and get some sort of spray as the water fall comes down. The rock piece sticking out is very "romantic" but highly improbable. It would be so slipper that even if the water hadn't eroded it would be impossible to walk on. The doors indicate an entry and obviously not a hidden one. You should add a gray or brown frame around them to protest against falling debris from the cliff face and also to ensure the strength of the door in the rock face. You need more colors in the ground and maybe some variance in elevations. A few brick or plate built rocks to stick up out of the ground and maybe a few moss covered ones near the stream. Plant life will help but don't rely on it to get by. Your cliff face is very flat and the top of it is almost level. Make some parts the jut out in places or have some crevices. If it is meant to look like it was cut (which it kind of does then use plenty of vertical and horizontal unnatural lines and make them into shapes like actual blocks. Using grooves would work well also. The top bothers me most though. to straight and flat. I need to emphasize that the water would be cutting into the rock and making channels, valleys and bowls as it did so. If you get this right much of the MOC will fall into place. Consider changing the dirt path to tan to make it stand out from your bridge. Consider adding some other greens or some 1x1 plates in rock colors to the ground to help the look. If something looks too much like what is next to it change it. No two 4x4 sections should be the exact same unless it is a man made (minifigure made) area. Nature simply does not do that and with billions of part combinations in LEGO neither do you. The interior Again somewhat bland. It looks more like the interior to a castle than a cave. I am not even sure you would have walls in such a place. Either way there is not enough support for the immense weight of the ground above them or the many heavy gallons of water on top of it. You need walls double or twice as thick or even better pillars and no walls. Huge pillars with arches in between them to give added strength. You may even want to have a few spots where water is leaking into the cave making puddles. The floor of the interior is way to flat. You should have little dents and holes and mini hills and ruts going throughout the whole thing. Even carved floors have imperfections or at least rounded/sloped edges. The whole thing is very gray. Your gold mining area looks nice though. You need more torches or lamps (think Aladdin) to help keep the place bright enough not to trip on everything. Dinner time and then bed time Consider making bunks for sleeping. or at least have an elevated place to sleep in case the water overflows from the indoor stream. More furniture would lessen the whole empty look of the cave. Use some barrels somewhere to show they have stores of food. The Blacksmith shop and the secret fireplace/door Where does all the smoke for the fire go? Consider having some sort of way to get the smoke out, clay piping or a chimney of some sort. The fire place is much to large and would never be used by a blacksmith in that way. I know for the door you wanted it like that but consider having the door next to the fireplace instead. The actual fire should be in a trough like area with enough room for the blacksmith to work around in. It should also not be on the floor but a little higher up and it should not have actual flames in it. Consider having some weapon racks setup and you need a water trough! You will need to be making more spears than anything else. Have a break or space to get around the "counter". Include a wall with various tools for special craftsmanship and etching. A blacksmith uses more than just a hammer. Ares Temple Kind of boring. Maybe use some colors here or add some banners. I have no idea what Greek temples had so I don't know what it should look like but it is too boring. As for the rest they are sort of moot points. Obviously, the more detail and things you can add without making it cluttered the better. As for the hunting try having the kill next to the water as that is when an animal is most vulnerable. Gallery http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=169556 A very good MOC that could easily be great. More variety a few changes and a little more realism (though not too much as this is LEGO after all) would go a long way. If you do rework it make sure to post pictures. I hope this helps you. MOC on!

I don't like that last part. I know that they are already making more and more elements of each set in other countries. Boxes, stickers, instructions are all being printed and made somewhere else. This sounds like even the plastic machines will be leaving. Though I hope not. I would hate to see the actual parts being made somewhere else. It would mess with the whole second hand system (Bricklink/Ebay) in ways I don't want to think about. Imagine some employee in China making ultra rare parts just so they can sell them on ebay for profit. LEGO could do nothing much as trademark and law enforcement in low-pay countries is not what it is in others.

Here is what S@H wants to know: Do you like these concepts? What do you like about them? What do you not like about them? What should S@H pursue and what should they throw out? Is there anything specific that you
