When you get them all finished I think these will make a nice display. Have you considered making some extra modifications to the design. Maybe a slightly different front end or some flatter side areas? I like the blue and yellow but I look forward to a blue and white or a black one. *sweet*
  2. To firm up the masts you can use technic flex tubes. They don't make lances or any other long thin bar in tan yet so consider using brown for your masts and using brown lances for the thinner riggings. The shape is very box and plain in some areas which is good if you want it that way but I would try to incorporate some rounded parts or the use of jumpers to offset the deck or maybe even two layers of jumbers to get a full stud width with a nice stepped look. Decoration of you ship must be personal because you have to like it. I would suggest not using the horns and trying to have the mast in front sticking out of it's mouth. The colors are okay. The mast would generally not be tan as it looks like untreated wood. The dark red is a good ship color but barring any colors the ship will look better with sails. What ever colors you use try and get fabric or paper with some sort of pattern in complimentary colors. I recommend Evil Willy's sail making guide. It is good stuff! MOC on!
  3. No, I didn't. For it to work well my guess is that people would not be allowed huge amounts of control over the game. On the map there would be numerous areas with towns or villages. Players would choose a character to begin and base any actions on that. That character would have a ship if a pirate or imperial officer of some type or they could have a fort or hideout. Then you would use a post a day system (or something similar) to expand your characters influence, wealth, or standing in the world. Each post could represent a day, week or month and would allow players to invest effort into improving the standing in the world. Computers can do more calculations, complex ones at that, than people can do so this would all need to be kept simple unlike games like Civ. Basically you would start with one character in an area of the map, a set amount of money and one moderate sized living quater. An inn, a merchant ship, a tower or something along those lines. Then characters would spend their money and effort points (see next paragraph) to build up in the direction they choose. Eventually you would be the pirate king or maybe even emporer over the whole map. Effort points (generic name) would be used to accomplish goals. Each day a person would get effort points to further those goals. It could be a static number or even a random one. if random you would either need a game master or use the honor system. Each participant could roll a six sided die and get that many effort points for the day. Players would get to roll for points every day they actively posted and on days they did not they would get only one point. That way casual players can still get points but not as many as those more dedicated. You could spend points on almost anything from hiring a servant to hiring an assasin or buying some material for a boat or fortress. Each thing you do would have a point value associated with it and when you had enough points you would be able to accomplish things. For instance if each day = one week in game time then one weeks labor for one person would be worth one point. If it is decided by the person in charge that it takes about 10 people 10 weeks to build a schooner then that is 100 points total to get that. The restriction comes in that even with 100 points it would still take 10 real life days to complete. Getting 100 points would obviously take more than 10 days, more like 30 days for an active player and 80 for a casual player. That is until they use points to invest in income producing things. It would take some ironing out and some decent rules put in place but it could work. It would need someone to run it if not a few people. But is is a good concept which can be kept as simple or made a s difficult as you would like. The game moderator could also hand out bonus points based on Mocs or character designs made for the game or even send natual disasters like diseases or storms that wreck havoc on ship crews or merchants. I see something like this being a lot of fun if done properly with some good moderation.
  4. Thanks for putting this together xwingyoda. It is nice having everything in one spot.
  5. Hey, where is the rest of the castle? ;-) Nice vig, accurate too!
  6. Classic or not this is the castle set of the decade. Loads of figures, weapons, seige parts and a decent wall, everything needed to play for hours on end. I will get this set for sure. Maybe even two!
  7. *wub* Ooh, awe! Secret hollowed out trees, ninja training grounds sounds like a ninja/forestman crossover. I love it! Some of the ninja movements are very exagerated. Whether it is on purpose or just to show how flexible they are it works well. Ninjas can practically fly anyway right? ;-) The scene has some great landscaping. I would suggest that the tree would have some roots going into the water and that there would be a few rocks here and there. Otherwise great! MOC on!
  8. That's awesome. I am Bat Janitor!
  9. Ah! the Palpatine fused with Hugh Hefner, he is now dark lord of the babes!
  10. Welcome old timer! Congrats on the new building partner. I think you will enjoy EB.
  11. I am not sure if I like this one better than the original. Though a larger version makes sense. Very "cheap" looking and industrial. Almost like a train car. It has a still being worked on look like the Millenium Falcon. Great ship. Proof that studless building is not the only way to have a great space MOC. MOC on!
  12. This set is nice. A little to often repeated but nice anyway. Small sets like this are needed to round out the bigger ones. Another nice review ;-)
  13. Link to my Bricklink store in my signature. This is the last mark down I will have. I tend to get impatient and want to get rid of these parts out of my living room. So buy something will ya! Sale will continue until the end of June at this price at which time I will close up shop and keep whatever is left for myself. Everything is priced as low as I can possibly go and get any profit out of it at all. I certainly won't make either of my goals at this price though so don't ask if my prices will go lower, they won't. Yellow flags for canon port covers or castles, horse head armor and wagon wheels, space visors, wheels and other parts, basic parts anyone can use and even some technic parts. Take a look it may be worth your time and you won't find prices lower on 80% of the parts. I know, I checked. ;-) A few common parts might be lower. International shipping may be more than $3.50 depending on the size and cost to ship. You will get affordable shipping though so don't worry.
  14. The fiery knight looks very imposing and hellish. The "artist" is a funny vig. Not sure anyone with those talents would have not tried to get paid for them but a nice way to use that piece.
  15. I am also looking forward to the new island. Your first one is looking good and if you are making it even better then I want to see it. Sounds like some nice features.
  16. That is one of the few advantages to storing everything in a big box. Immediate inspiration. Harder to have when you tuck everything away in some little container or tray.
  17. That is so true Hobbes. I skipped some of those phases but yes I am there and I can totally relate. :-$

    The Valour

Tall mast it has but that just makes it faster with all those sails right? It does seem a bit too tall. Would a crew of six be able to handle so many sails in case of a sudden storm? Either way, this is a simple beauty. Lovely colors and shape. A fine addition to any port town. MOC on!
  19. If the original ewok celebration song is there then I am all for it. That seriously ruined the last movie for me. Some of the newer special effects were good and the movie still had the "magic" but after the celebration started I was like "Oh no he didn't!" with all the neck snapping and finger waving. The whole movie died at that moment. :'-( But if that is fixed now, who cares? X-D
  20. A. the major or some city Xwingyoda, she doesn't look that bad. With hands like those I would say she is in her late 60's or 70's. Look at her muscles. You had better be nice or she might come after you. :-D
  21. *wub* Oh my. *wub* Very nice. The tower looks weathered and old. It is odd that there is no door though. I doubt the Romans would have not included one but your idea that it was sealed makes sense. Landscape is good but it might need more variety in colors. That is hard to do with a limited brick supply but some other greens, browns or tan could give it the little variety it needs. Also I didn't see any birds or owls which would have take residence in such a tower. Another little thing that could be nice to include. *y* MOC on!
  22. Great colors and part placement. Not a fan of the thin Toa look but it could contend as a LEGO original for sure.
  23. EXO will be around for at least a few years. I wouldn't mind seeing it every other year like the adventurer series. Of course it needs to get new characters and hair colors also. I am waiting for the pink mecha with female pilot.
  24. LEGO will not release any licensed figure or part through LDD. StarWars figures and specialty parts will not be purchased this way period. The secondary market will not be hurt badly at all. If anything this is just competition for places like Bricklink and ebay. It negates price gauging on rarer parts/colors. Hopefully the promise bulk purchasing initially suggest will go into effect. Buying more should lower the cost of at some point. The only negative is for sellers who are able to rake people over the coals with unreasonable prices. Recreating sets isn't going to happen easily and I doubt LEGO will ever offer up the entire piece catalog. Even if they do it will not be all at once and the amount of time needed to monitor, purchase, package and resell sets second hand would not make you very much money. You would be better off mowing lawns if you wanted to make some money.
