  1. The hardest LEGO build for me is the MOC. -no instructions -no parts list -no picture to base off of Though it can be tough this ise for me the most rewarding build also.
  2. See though parts a concern and so are parts that don't work like they are supposed to. A big problem though? Not even close. LEGO makes billions of plastic parts every year. If 1 out of 100 are noticably different then so be it. That means more than 10,000,000's of parts are not going to be perfect with I would say less than 1% of that being actually deformed or unusable. I am sure LEGO is well within quality limits. Besides out of the few parts that are bad even in a small set 85% or more of them are nearly perfect. You can focus on the few little problems if you want to but out of the many thousands of bricks I own so few problem parts that I have no real reason to complain. In fact I have parts in great condition dating back to the 60's in nearly perfect condition. 40 year old toys that work as well as the day they were made. No toy company I know of can boast the same.
  3. I really like that the comic is actually pasted together into a movie. Very slick and very nice. Having music can add greatly to it also. Now to the concerns. First your backgrounds are too plain. While I understand that "photoshopping" them may be too much it really would help. If you can't do it then maybe consider painting up a carboard box with some unrealistic dynamic swirl patterns. Just something to not be so, *sing* *yawn* boring. I like the music. It has a terminator feel too it which works because of the robots. It like your backgrounds is sort of plain though. The lack of action due to this being a comic just doesn't fit the music for me. I would have like to see something more mechanical sounding and upbeat. Something like what you would find on OCRemix. They have a lot to choose from.
  4. Deck railings and perhaps some supplys tied down on deck would add some color and style to this little ship. A very nice build though, and perfect for quick sailing. No cannons needed!
  5. Was just at Target picking up lunch for the rest of the week and the batcave is back to $89.99. Sorry if you missed it. On the plus side the UCS Batmobile got a price cut to $69.99. ;-) I didn't think it would take long but like I said, news travels fast.
  6. News travels fast. I hope everyone who wanted one got one. I am sure Target will not have the price incorrect by the time more come in.
  7. I like the black and neon colors together. The lurkers are sort of creepy. I have never seen multiple level laser tag. It sounds like fun. The new batman guns have a sort of futuristic and laser tag like look to them.
  8. Maybe instead of just an island it moves to a "mainland". A whole new world with all new elements and characters. Or instead of a large new land perhaps another island emerges out of the sea. I don't think LEGO will drop the bionicle action figure type line until it is barely profitable. They do need to keep it fresh and expanding though.
  9. Ninja is by far the best. I really liked the Wollfpack but they needed a few more sets and maybe a leader or something. That series never really got fleshed out.
  10. Lovely! *wub* I will get one for sure. I am sort of sad that the knights are not dragons but it is still cool. Does anyone actually use their KK chess set for chess?
  11. Lugnet recently transitioned to new ownership. The old owner would not give up control or even make needed changes so it all fell apart really. Give it some time it may turn around. The new owner will make things right I hope. Not that I care much as EB is better set up anyway and way more laid back. Oh and best of all it is free!
  12. The only thing I don't like and never really have are the two tone colored parts. I don't mind them in things like the viking dragon wings as the two tone is a nice effect for those. But the ordinary parts with two tone are not alwas easy to use in MOCs. They work great in the set but not as well as a plain color part would. Not a big gripe though. My favorite parts come from the guys with transparent lids on the canisters. They have plenty of hard plastic parts in great colors. The new Piraka seem nice to in that sense but I haven't actually held any of the new sets in my hands yet. Each year has its faults though and I do have to say that this years stuff is looking better than anything they put out before. Especially the toa. Also the Zamor spheres are the coolest extra yet, even better than masks I think.
  13. Sorry . . . yes as smilies. Especially the original blacktron logo.
  14. Close this thread at once! This type of thread is not allowed here at Eurobricks!!! ;-) X-D Why do people put that in the subtitle, if it isn't allowed you will be told and your thread will be locked. If you don't think it is appropriate JUST DON'T POST IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. Or PM an admin to see if it is alright first. Oh and can I get a Japanese flag. I really like the design. ;-) :-D
  15. Target stores have the batcave at $69.99 USD. Not online only in the actual stores and I think this is a mistake on theior part so get one for this price if you can. Good luck bargain hunters!
  16. If you like islanders so much just build something. One of the reasons there is nothing is that no one has started something. Be the first to moc and others will be inspired and moc also. MOC on!
  17. Maybe we could see the logos also. A blacktron, ice planet and classic space logos would be very welcome.
  18. I like this ship. It has a few too many colors for me (mostly the blue) but it doesn't ruin it. At first I thought it didn't have any sails other than the front and rear but I soon realized that you took the picture full sideways and the middle sails dissappeared. It is a a more LEGO style ship in that it is bare bones like the LEGO designs. Which works well in this case and I have no doubt this would look nice along side BSB or SES. MOC on matey.
  19. I have seen and liked A Kinght's Tale, I heard he did a good job in Brokeback too, so I am not too worried. I haven't seen Begins yet so I have no idea if that was good or not but if given the right script I think he will do fine. I am sure of one thing though, they will not be making more of the crap like the bat nipples movie.
  20. Another option is to listing something pirate LEGO yourself and include a blurb about this site. Of course that would require selling something (though it doesn't have to be pirate) to draw attention. Selling pirate LEGO obviously would be reaching your target audience. Speaking about advertising, has anyone considered contacting lugnet and getting a banner added to the .pirate page?

    CNS394 Mech

Nice. Small, sturdy and armed. Colors are good too. Is this a robot mecha or can a pilot fit inside?
  22. I'm in. Mecha must be white and gray. Can weapons be other colors? You also said any size but large and then you later said it can be very large what is the size limit in studs high? 48, one large baseplate or nothing bigger than say Supernova?
  23. Ya! Space tag! I am very busy lately. More so than normal. I start goin got university in just over a month, need to find a new job, have been working on transitioning my old job to someone else, have been taking and editing Grad pictures for someone, went to visit friends for the weekend, am going camping later this week and put a few thousand parts in my bricklink store. Life doesn't afford me much time to MOC lately. The little time I have for it has gone to my imperial (pirates) ship. I will not let space down! Cadet Suvie over and out! PS Space makes SW look like dog poo!
  24. Black tenticle parts on bricklink are very cheap. Usually around $0.02-0.05 a piece. You should look at getting some. I didn't know squid had teeth. Oh and Phes, Joe's was seen in his Pirate of the Carribean moc.
  25. Well I am all for fun and doing things together to increase it. If you want something good you need to do things right. The problem with the internet is that so many people want things "their" way and unless you have huge and strict rules it is hard to govern such a story. Isle of Mist failed for numerous reasons. Any project in which you let too many hands into it will ruin it. You need a leader for this. Someone who lets the players have fun and get involved but lets them know what is utterly unacceptable, and when they are going too far. Sort of like a cowboy does with his cattle. Let them graze and keep them moving to the next water source while not letting them run wild or get into trouble. It is easy to be biased, pick favorites, exclude people or simply use your position to furthur your own agenda. Any of these can and will decrease the number of people interested in playing along or even joining in the first place. My suggestions. 1. Start a "game" by yourself and possibly a few other people who are interested. Don't open it up to eveyone at first. Start something and see if it goes anywhere and if people are interested. 2. Make short concise rules that anyone can understand and follow. Rules that limit freedom enough to keep the story in control but open enough that anyone can join. I personally recommend that you disallow any type of magic, make it so that monsters (like dragons) are not controlable, no one gets to be higher ranked than a ship captain or small town mayor and you as the game master (or whomever gets that role) has the final say in what is allowed or not. Keep it simple remember, things like magic and rulers muk everything up. 3. Allow others to join and leave when they feel like it. 4. Encourage people to build and photograph MOCs and create characters for the story. It will make things more interesting to look at and people can interact better with visuals. 5. Make it fun. Don't be too serious. You obviosly don't want it to be silly but you need to have fun and be funny. School and work are usually boring and unwanted. Make this something that people enjoy doing, not a chore or obligation they have to do. Remember what is fun for you is not fun for everyone, try and find a middle ground. To recap Good idea. Needs a leader. Start small. Make rules. Open enrollment. Encourage more than text. Have fun. Best wishes and good luck!
