Landscaping, jail, and figures are all looking great, BC! I would like to see a little more description about how this fits into Historica, but otherwise, great job.
-
I like this little outpost, and the figures are looking great! (Are those legs from the librarian ) Your landscaping is really good!
-
What a lovely oasis and camp site - you have really made it come alive. The pavilion and both wells are looking great! After procuring my own camel, I am only going to be jealous of your goats...
-
That's a very spiky creature - I wonder how the creatures of the north feels about the Algus and their power hunger. It looks great, especially on that landscape.

[The Frozen Beyond] Cat A: Teridyan Beacon
Bregir replied to BrickCurve's topic in Guilds of Historica
Brilliant snowscape, BrickCurve - I think this is my favourite build from you yet! And as others have said, that elk is just great -
I thought we had seen the last of the Aslanic temples and then you pull this out of your hat! I am really impressed how you achieved the round shape without any gaps, and the architecture is just great. The Aslanic faith will continue to grow!

On the Path to Falkidalr - AoM: Wall Phase I
Bregir replied to Slegengr's topic in Guilds of Historica
Another fabulous landscape, Slegengr! The trees, bushes and vegetation are all great, and the landscaping works really well. I might copy that technique for the bushes! -
Another gorgeous build, Jacob - and what a forebooding story! While I prefer the less "fantasy" style of your Skavenport builds, this is great too. Groundwork, tree, and inn all have some great techniques, especially the tudoring!
-
Nice conclusion to the story, Milo, and thank you for your service for Historica! The inn is looking great too, inside and out. While it may be a bit top-heavy, I really like the roof and the way you made the tudor walls!

[TheFrozenBeyond] Category C: Mountain patrol reporting

That frozen river is brilliant - even with the same colour, you have made the river stand out perfectly from the rest of the (brilliant) landscape. Great entry! -
Avalonia task 4 : The Restauration of Falahuas ch3
Bregir replied to Tezclatipoca's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice seeing Falahuas growing and starting to recover from the wars! I like the inn - there are a lot of nice details, such as the dockside, the round window and the interior. A suggestion would be to use a few less colour, to get a more harmonic colourscheme. Great scene overall! I like the life in the build in general and the performers in particular! -
Another brilliant swamp build, Blufiji - You really have a way of carving out such a dense atmosphere perfect for these builds! I like the story and, obviously, the trees and vegetation. I have just one suggestion, and that is regarding giving us the impression of being "in the croc's shoes" so to speak. I think a picture from a very low point of view, peeking out between the undergrowth might have helped doing that, although I do appreciate how hard such photos can be to take... Nonetheless, this is a great build, and I really hope the croc wins! LastlyI think the Black Spire(/Carthage) should be destroyed...

And the story becomes more and more dramatic! :O I really hope Beorthan will arrive in time and be able to tip the tide in this conflict!! Both buildings are looking great, and the story is well-written and well dramatized by the pictures. My only criticism would be to work a little more with the transition from cliffs to tower. On the front it looks great with the path leading up to the entrance, but on the back the shift from cliffs to angled tower is a bit rough. However, I think this is your best build yet, and that is saying a lot! /Bregir

I'll echo the comments of those before me - great phase one gate! :) My only suggestion is regarding the printed tiles. They don't stick out too much, but with all other textures brick built, I would suggest to find another way to give the gate some character. Otherwise, I love it, and those horns are a great addition. Nice to see an alternative to the great city walls we often see in Historica. :)

Interesting weapon on the soldier to the left, LordDan! Overall cool little build - it is nice seeing the the Al(/n)gus finally suffering a defeat! Will be looking forward to your "real" entries.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
My lord Regent - Should a foreign force invade, you may count on our full commitment to the defence of Avalonia. However, on matters of foreign policy, the Trifork reserves it's right to full sovereignty. We will not risk to have our forces deployed on foreign ground against our interest! Should you wish for a confirmation of such a solely defensive pact, you need but to ask! Yours truly, Lady Mariana, On behalf of Ser Beorthan Lord Mayor of the Trifork -
The Aestwäld Saga 8 - Riding to War (/Task 1)
Bregir replied to Bregir's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks all. I am really happy with the way both builds turned out. Especially the cavalry scene, as a few of you have agreed. I too think the posing turned out great, and the dust clouds worked well too. I have the next builds for the saga ready, but due to the season, it is quite a challenge to find the light to take proper pictures.- 13 replies

Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Finally, the generals of the High Council forces have gone through the battlefield commissions of the civil war (was it really that "civil"? ) and decided which ones to confirm post war. Ranks are awarded based on service record and prowess in battle, as well as guerilla attacks conducted and efforts made in repelling enemy attacks. Complaints may be directed at the High Council, although there is no guarantee of corrective action. (I have the scorecard, and I am willing to make proper adjustments) ***Trumpets*** The following titles have been bestowed upon the fiercest and most valiant fighters of the Republic. All titles may be assumed as "*title* of the Republic". In ascending order of rank: Conscripts (No rank): Soccerkid (7 points) BrickCurve (6 points) MiloNesiano (5 points) mccoyed (9 points) Mike S (2 points) de Gothia (9 points) Recruits: Scarst (12 points) Gedren_y (10 points) Graham Gidman (14 points) Warrior: Maxim (23 points) Corporals: mrcp6d (42 points) Adair (53 points) Gideon (52 points) Jakorin (44 points) Sergeant: LittleJohn (70 points) Captain: Bregir (102 points) The High Council thanks all its' heroes for their valiant efforts in maintaining the Republic for the people of Kaliphlin.- 272 replies

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
There is no such thing as a stupid question! (Apart from the "airplane on a conveyor belt"-thingy - don't go there! ) I think my Task 6 trade brand would be interested in opening up trade with Falahuas. I will contact you later, when I have finished some of the other things I have in my pipeline. Regarding your questions: - You can build in Albion if you claim a spot in this thread. It may need a bit of clearing up or refreshing, but it does do its job for the time being. - Technically yes - however, the Avalonian counties are very independent. That means that we all have our own "foreign" policy, and may back different sides in different conflicts, depending on preferences, trade interests, prior connections, personal connections, etc. Avalonia is a loose confederation, not a country with a single ruler, which means a common army might be a tough idea to sell! What I would suggest: If you establish a military corps, you can then send word out to the Avalonian lords, asking them (rather "us" ) to contribute with forces to this corps. However, that means you will have to negotiate the terms and conditions of this corps, as well as what rules govern its mobilisation and deployment. Otherwise, noone is likely to sign up. Could make for an interesting storyline, although I think it will be quite a task! Just don't expect everyone to sign up for it. (The Trifork, for instance, may be reluctant to give over control of its forces and foreign policy ) Windusky created a group of Avalonian rangers on his own initiative (more or less), so if you wish to join them, I would really ask him. As with (almost) everything else, they are a creation of a builder or group of builders. And if enough people support an idea, it may grow to an influential organisation in Historica. (Just like in real life). The important thing is to make your initiatives "opt-in", so that people have the opportunity to join, instead of superimposing storylines, organisations, or actions on anyone. Hope that makes sense! You will need some sort of picture hosting site to post pictures here. Flickr is a really nice solution, but there are plenty of other options. I use flickr, and it is easy to use and have very little downtime. Some other sites are specifically Lego, which (in my experience) makes them a little less professional and polished. On the other hand, you will find only Lego-related pictures there, which some may prefer. I don't think Falahuas have been put on the map yet, but I am sure Faladrin will be able to provide a link to his map. 1. Eastern Avalonia is generally grassy plains, but surely Avion can be a forested part of the plains. That is what task 3 is for! 2. The Flight of Dragons was a more prominent force in book 1, as far as I know. However, technically the "Flight of Dragons" is made up of the Lords (and Ladies) of Avalonia, so I see no reason why not to. For now, it seems to me that it is mainly a ceremonial title, as it hasn't been mobilised as long as I have been in Historica. (And I think Beorthan is to young to have been actively participating in its prime) 3. The 7 tasks are all ongoing. (See the first page of this thread ) Further, the Algus challenge/Frozen Beyond contest is currently open, and that one looks like great fun! See above about the Dragonflight and the Rangers. Further, as I wrote above, Avalonia is made up of a number of highly independent counties, each fielding their own armies. Collecting us all under one banner is going to be a challenge, as we all have our own political interests, and may back different sides in different conflicts. (Such as the Kaliphlinite or Nocturnian Civil War.) Perhaps, in the case of an invasion of an outside enemy, we may unite to expel the enemy, but I doubt you will see one regular Avalonian army. At least the Trifork will be reluctant to commit to the formation of such a force! I hope this clarifies some of the questions above. If you have further questions, let me know, and I will try to answer to the best of my ability. If I have gotten something wrong, let me know too - the above is a reflection of my personal perception of Avalonia. -
