  1. Then I believe the side with sufficient builders can win by default, *if* they build something. Perhaps you can compete with just two builds? But I don't know. I would suggest recruiting another builder!
  2. We still need a third volunteer for Namere! Come on, guys - this is your chance to make a buck and to "stick it the man" (Well, Oleon).
  3. Welcome to newcomers and those who are returning too! Good to see Avalonia as lively as ever. And if you are wondering, the Trifork is not entirely dead yet - and something is coming... *que dramatic music*
  4. Dear J. A. Fontonajo, Your counterproposal is a fair as ti is wise, and we ask that you proceed with this venture as it becomes convenient for you and your business. Sincerely Ibn al'Sayeed
  5. The Montoya Estate should like to inquire if the Fontonajo Mining Ventures is interested in a different kind of venture. Fine granite for building has been found on Cocovia, and the Governor is looking for a contractor to set up the mine. (Basicly, just supply the MOC). We shall be looking forward to hearing from you. Ibn al'Sayeed
  6. Nice looking little artisans shop, Captain. I particularly like the inclusion of the prefab door piece (which I have never seen before) and the arched alcove. The chandelier is a great compact design too. Well done!
  7. Great expansion of the prospecting scene and nice addition to the Fontonajo Mining company. I really like the little mining carts, and the shed is nice too. Well done!
  8. This is a great introduction, sir! Personally, it really reminds me of the old Indiana Jones movies, which is a very good thing. The vegetation is nice, and the overgrown temple really sparks my curiosity - what civilisation might have built this, and for which purpose? And while I like vessels of all sorts and shapes, it is always nice to see some alternative narratives! I too find the cropping a bit odd, but I agree that it can be quite a challenge. Will be looking forward to follow Soares in his future adventures. Well done!
  9. It would be great to have more of the NPC countries fleshed out a bit, and as Phred said, stay within the (limited) existing lore and the setting, and you can basically get the honour of fleshing them out. If you have a specific nation in mind, you could ask Ska if he had some real life counterpart in mind when he designed it. EDIT: Phred: Saracan or Barbary like states sounds great!
  10. Thanks guys, glad you like it! And while al'Sayeed is not too different from the original cmf (those legs and that torso are, afterall, meant to go together... ;) ) I too like him quite a bit, both as a minifig, but also as a character. And it is fun to build with a limited collection - really strains one's creativity - but I will still be looking forward to getting back to my collection... This really isn't meant to put pressure on Ska, btw, but rather to take a story spin on the later than usual MRCA results.
  11. Ibn al'Sayeed was not what you would call the nervous type, yet these days, he didn't exactly seem at ease, wandering through the financial district of Belson. As Montoya had been called to the old world (once more delaying Cooke's arrival at Quinnsville) on a diplomatic mission to Carno, al'Sayeed had taken the opportunity for a ship back to the old world. While managing the Montoya Estate was typically pleasant business, this month was different, and he needed to discuss the situation with some of his old contacts around the stock exchange. He had just left such a meeting, which had been no consolation. Normally news of New Terran shipping would long have been in already, but so far, only a few merchants had made it to the Old World, and those with very sparse news. Thus, the stock market was ripe with speculation about the reasons behind this delay. Some said a storm had taken most of the ships, some that trade had dwindled, others (mainly Olean priests) that Poseidon had risen in wrath. The only thing certain was that the markets were very nervous, and that many expected a crash. As his contacts had been able to tell him, significant interests were starting to bet against the market, and others were following. Were the days of great fortunes being made in New Terra over so soon? As the Montoya Estate had most of its funds tied up in shipping, al'Sayeed had his reasons to be worried... ____________________ Just a small build to comment on the lacking MRCA results - I figured I might as well make it a storyhook! C&C welcome
  12. Welcome to both captain Soares and Rulthorpe. May the Brick Seas bring you many a fortune! (And you are of course always welcome to ask, should anything be confusing! :) )
  13. Does that mean it can hold licenses? And what then stops me from starting 25 TC's to gain 25x3 ship slots without penalty?
  14. I am pretty sure all vessels currently need to be owned by individuals :)
  15. We would like to have them ordered correctly. Corrington does not believe in "the easiest" ;)
  16. Link to COR part one: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=134121&view=getnewpost
  17. Mille grazie, KB. And may Corrington forever rule the waves... I mean... the best team win!
  18. Third part of Corrington's entry: "In her Majesty's Diplomatic Service" May the best team win! PS: Our titles appear to be too long. Can someone take out the "Part .... " part out of the end of our titles and add the number to the first part like so: [COR vs CAR I] "Protecting her Majesty's Honour" for Puvel's build and like so: [COR vs CAR III] "In her Majesty's Diplomatic Service" for mine?
  19. Part I: "Protecting her Majesty's Honour" Part II: *Link to be added later* Part III: "In her Majesty's Diplomatic Service" Montoya had gotten the dubious honour of delivering her Royal Majesty's response (not exactly soothed by the letters from the privateering captain) to the Carnite actions. As he arrived in the capital of Carno he was lead not the Royal Palace, but to the foreign office, where he was presented before an investigative jury. "Gentlemen, surely this must be a misunderstanding." Montoya said, after presenting himself. "There is nothing to investigate." "We assert no such conclusions, sir. You will present your case before this investigative jury, and we will decide where to take this issue" a man in fine crimson garments interjected, obviously the president of the jury. A juror dressed as a sailor chimed in. "And who is to say you did not fire the first shot?" "Why, your very own Captain Whoknowswho, my good sir, in his very public letters to my Queen." Montoya looked round at the shocked jury. "However, that skirmish was but a symptom of the wicked character of your foreign policy!" Pausing dramatically for a second continuing: "Your government has been issuing letters of Marque against Corlander shipping, a very harsh breach of the peace." A third juror threw his hands in the air, "There is no proof of this - and who is to say our ships were not threatened by your warships?" "Or pulled into an attack by a clever ruse" the last member of the jury shouted, spewing spittle, their contempt growing very obvious. Montoya took half a step back, wiped a speck of spit off his coat with an arched brow. "But sirs, you entirely misunderstand the situation. Corrington is not looking to negotiate but present you with our demands. Return the HMS Bullshark and its crew, cease all aggression against our shipping, and commit to pensions for those who lost their fathers and husbands in the battle, and we will consider this case closed." Montoya said in a firm voice, before furrowing his brow, "… should you fail to do so…" he looked to Cooke, who was obviously straining to keep his temper under control, before continuing "we are forced to consider the attack an act of war." The jury was taken aback, and Cooke observed with pleasure their surprise. It seemed the Carnites had hoped to push Corrington to strike a bargain, but now realised their mistake. ____________________ A sligthly higher angle to better show the interior. While a bit low on tiles and similar detailing bricks, I liked how this turned out. I had not expected those bows to work on both sides as well as they did, and I am certain to revisit the use of those. Good luck to all contestants - We shall see who made the best case.
  20. Unless you hear otherwise, you may license it, if it fulfills the requirements for a licensable property. (I will confer with my colleagues.) The main purpose of the MOC from our side is to ensure IC consistency. (i.e. explain why the ship changes rating.)
  21. That is correct. Pardon the oversight. We should like to add that you are to take care of all the paperwork yourself. (Getting the license changed, etc.)
  22. To Captain Morgan, The courts have granted you the right to reclassify your ship from a 5LA to a 5HA on the conditions that you: 1) Pay the difference in licensing costs (50db) 2) Post a small moc/vignette explaining the change. Examples could be: purchasing new guns, contracting with shipyard to make changes, etc. We emphasize that you do not need to include the vessel in this MOC, but can explain the difference indirectly as indicated in the examples above. Should this lead to any questions, you are welcome to contact us again. Sincerely The Naval Licensing and Prize Court
  23. What does the letters on the player armies reflect?
  24. Dear Captain Morgan, Your request is being processed and we will return with an answer as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, we should like to know if Queen Annetta's Revenge is a captured vessel, or a newly licensed one. It is unlikely to affect our decision, but for the sake of transparency and precedence, we prefer full disclosure. Sincerely The court investigator
