Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?

They make good elves, as they're supposed to be fair skinned... -
"The Dark Ages" - How long were you away from Lego?

Yup, we've got that. -
Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?
purpleparadox replied to purpleparadox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Like I said, I love the LOTR franchise, but I don't really love the fleshies. Whad'ya think about them? EDIT: And although I don't like the fleshies, licensed characters would just look wrong with yellow skin. It's such a dilemma! -
Have you guys ever sudddenly, completely lost all interest in certain themes? I recently lost any desire for any licensed themes. It happened out of the blue, and now I just don't like them! I still love the original franchises, but the Lego versions aren't doing anything for me anymore. I'm obsessed with LOTR but the Lego lost its appeal. I think some reasons are: the flesh figs don't appeal to me anymore (I really don't know why), and I prefer creating new stories to building sets and MOCs recreating existing ones. Has anything similar ever happened to you? Do you still have no regrets about not buying certain themes? I can't be the only one to have something like this happen.

It doesn't really matter. I'm asking anybody who knows the answer. -
Single Pane LEGO Licensed Theme Funnies

Out of curiousity, which character was created first? Because they seem like copies of each other, changed just enough to not get sued. I'm guessing it was Batman first? -

Looks good! Took me awhile to spot Zane, though. I'm jealous of people who have enough trans-clear pieces to do things like this. -

Okay. All I really know is that together, they make a force to be reckoned with. As I asked not too long ago, -
15?? Wow, all I usually find is loose parts from 1 or 2 minifigs. Do you know what Customer Services did? I bet it was a waste of all that Lego.

Custom LEGO Avengers Minifigures

Wow, these are great. Movie-accurate, and excellent decal application. They're better than the official figs! -

I understood that...but if they work together I'd say the Drow are more of a threat than before. -
I. Am. Jealous. Of. You. I have over 150 bionicles! They're so hard to use. I try my best though.

I'm often in Wal-Mart, feeling the CMF packets, and when I am, I always notice open packets. Usually there's one or two loose pieces just laying on the shelf. The Bride's hair, or Bunny Suit's carrot. What do you do in those situations? There's a couple choices: -Leave it there. Result: Either somebody else will take it, or an employee will throw it away. They can't re-sell one piece. -Tell an employee. Result: It'll get thrown away. -Offer to buy many of the pieces for cheap- I can't see this working...the store will probably think YOU were the one who tampered with it! -Just take it yourself. It doesn't have any better future. I've never done any of these things, except leave it. I always just leave those carrots and boxer gloves sitting on the shelf. What's the right course of action?
-
Yep, they're foot pieces from 8903 Zaktan. But I wish I hadn't bought as many Bionicles, and bought other sets instead. Oh well, I'll just have to be creative!

Well, well, well. Look what Cadarnosaurus Rex pointed out. Some people think the Drow were merely a nuisance and all we should worry about is the Mage, but I say the Drow are more of a threat than ever! On an unrelated note: Due to an unfortunate lack of good taste in the past, most of my Lego collection is Bionicle. Would it be okay to post a beast that's mostly Bionicle parts? I'm not sure if there's some rule against that in GoH... -

People say the Drow were merely a nuisance, that this Mage should be our only worry, but now I think the Drow are as much of a threat as ever! -
Great project! I like your idea to use pink and blue for each of the changeroom doors. Can't wait to see it finished!

Pandora is the new Friends Regulator!
purpleparadox replied to Rick's topic in Forum Information and Help
Congrats Pandora. But you can't make me like minidolls! -
Thanks! I'd make those changes, but I've already taken it apart to use the pieces. Yep, my collection is so poor I need to disassemble this small MOC! Still, LOVING everybody's advice, and I'll keep it all in mind next time I build something.

WIP Decal: Lego store employee
purpleparadox replied to purpleparadox's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Just wanted to let you guys know, I haven't abandoned this. I'll still work on it. It's just a REALLY busy time for me right now, so when I do get time for Lego, other projects are higher priorities. But, sometime in the coming week I'll have this updated. -
Bane, from The Dark Knight Rises

Wow WetWired! You're great at decal application! It looks fantastic, great job to you both. -
Thanks for the advice Oky! I agree about the trees, but like I said, I took a lot of artistic license. Most of my builds for licensed themes don't use too many licensed parts, because I don't buy them that often. Personally I prefer City and Castle. But building for licensed contests and community builds can be a fun challenge sometimes!

Thank you! I know. I wasn't sure what to do for his robotic hand (normal grey minifig hand?) because the Exo-Force robot hand doesn't fit a minifig arm. And I would've included the droids, but I only own R2-D2. I'm not into SW enough to have many minifigs, and C-3PO is one I lack.
