  1. The torso is really neat. Well, do you collect the Superheroes sets? If you do, you might want to Bricklink him if it's not too much. He's a great addition to the DC line. Cool. Earth 2...isn't that the Lex Luthor who's a good guy? Wow, for once a promo is available in Canada when it's not elsewhere. That doesn't happen too often. Seriously though, sorry about that. It's too bad you guys couldn't get him.
  2. Thanks! It really is great. Do you have it/plan on getting it? I agree, it was pretty pricey. But since I wanted the game anyway...might as well get it. Thanks, I'm sure I will! I hope you get a good sale so you buy it too.
  3. Here's the review of the polybag set you get with the pre-order: Lex Luthor
  4. Here's the Lex Luthor review: Link
  5. Time for a review from purpleparadox! Let's see how great Lex is without his huge mech, eh? Name:Lex Luthor Set Number:30164 Pieces:17 Minifigs:Lex Luthor Price:Free, promotional Theme:DC Superheroes Year:2012 So, I'm sure we all know about the Lex Luthor promotion. Pre-order LEGO Batman: DC Superheroes at EB Games and get a free Lex Luthor minifig! So, today I trekked off to EB Games and left with a promise of my copy of the game on Tuesday, and a small polybag set. My wallet is crying, but this set is awesome! Let's start with the bag: Bag Front: Lex shooting some black bricks. My theory on that'll come later in the review. Personally I really like the background. Bag Back: I've never seen an interesting back to a polybag. This is little exception, but those pieces I can see are making me excited! The Contents: Here's all the pieces and the instructions. The armour is in it's own little plastic bag. Turns out one of those trans-green round studs is an extra. Nice one TLG. Manual Front: You get all the instructions on the front side, along with a mini-picture that's the same as the bag art. Manual Back: Ads for the game as well as more DC sets. Funny, I actually like these ads. I'll move on to the figure. Front: He's got a suit/armour piece that's more or less the same as Buzz Lightyear or the Galaxy Patrol. (Except for colour differences.) Some nice purple legs and hands, green hips, dark green torso (more on that in a minute), and obviously the bright green armour with a bit of purple printing. I just found out his head is a new print. I looked up the one from 6862 and I like this one quite a bit better. The mouth is less asymmetrical, and therefore more realistic IMO. He's got a determined scowl, like he's in combat with Superman or another DC hero. Side: His only side printing is a purple stripe. Any more and I think that'd be too much. It's on both sides of the armour. Back: Obviously his head isn't double sided due to his baldness. He has a nice jetpack, and a trans-green stud attached to his back. Without the armour: Like I said, nice purple hands on a dark green torso. What I didn't mention was the nice detailed printing. Have a look! The Gun: I believe this gun is powered by Kryptonite, making it dangerous to Superman. It's neatly built. Overall Set: Lex is ready to shoot some bricks! That's everything in the set. I think I read somewhere that part of the game is that he created a weapon to target black objects (ie: Batman) which explains the black bricks. I could be wrong though... Batman's prepared though, with his blue suit! Ratings: Design:8/10 The black bricks are in some way more attractive than they should be, and the gun is great. Price: 7/10 It was free with a purchase, so I gave it a 7. Minifig: 9/10 I found very few faults with Lex. Playability: 7/10 There's not much to do with some black bricks. Build: 7/10 Quick, less than 5 minute build. The gun is the most fun part to put together. Overall: 7.6/10 Not a great overall ranking, but the minifig is really awesome! I recommend that you get it. Looks like Lex's going to jail. Bye for now!
  6. I knew I wouldn't be the first to post images of it. But I'll still share my thoughts in a review.
  7. Just pre-ordered the game, got the Lex Luthor minifig! I'll be posting a review in the licensed forum in about one hour.
  8. Hi all! Just got the exclusive Lex figure, I'll be posting a review in about an hour!
  9. I wasn't saying I'd be mad, I was saying some people would. I'd be fine without yellows. (Although that's liable to change.)
  10. Ah, yes. Erebor was what I was remembering.
  11. I agree with everything you just said here. However, I think TLG has a reason for still keeping the yellow figs. If they changed them now, they'd have a lot of angry AFOLs on their hands, and could potentially lose many customers.
  12. Hmm. When I buy a set to actually assemble it, rather than for "parts packs", I usually leave it on display for quite a while. I leave it up until I decide I'm a bit bored of it, or until it seems the pieces would be more useful in a MOC than on display. I do a similar thing with MOCs, but they seem to get disassembled sooner than sets. I always take pictures before I take them apart though.
  13. I'll leave my comments in this topic rather than the other one because it's getting kinda old. The snowspeeder is great. I don't think it's too big for minifigs at all. They look great in it! I like the grappling gun on the back of the speeder. And that AT-AT leg looks great, really strong and stable. Maybe someday you'll build the whole thing? Keep it up, your MOCs look awesome.
  14. It's a pretty good set. I'm on the fence about buying it though. I'll probably pass. Cad Bane is a good figure, but I don't like him nearly as much as some people do. I'll see about getting him after I get all the 2012 SW sets I want and all the LOTR.
  15. I voted for rating this set a 5. It's as perfect as it can get, IMO. The Sarlacc is really cool. The set's great and the minifigs...are...AMAZING!! I'd say this is the best group of figs in one set that I've ever seen. (Although Shelob Attacks might have the best figs. We'll see once I own both sets.) My favourite of this bunch is Luke. Well, I think this is the best SW set of the year. Can't wait to buy it!
  16. Holy cow. That's insanely cool. I love the chrome Mandalorian! And that rifle design is amazing...I'm gonna have to be stealing borrowing it, if you don't mind.
  17. Thanks GRogall! I'd still love a pic, but I trust you on that info. Hmm...DJ'll be one of my favourites. I hope he(she?) will be easily converted to flesh for a MOC I'm working on.
  18. If I remember correctly, the dwarves had a bit of a fortress though, right?
  19. Oh man ACPin...I was just reading your interview on the SW forum, now you're building for one of Lego's other best themes! Keep up all the great work. I want more!
  20. I thought that MOC was based on the comic that came with the set...?
  21. @che6mw: They're funny, but maybe you want to post them in the Single Pane Star Wars Funnies thread? Thanks, that's good advice. I'll try to make the next photos more interesting.
  22. Looks awesome! The landscaping is perfect. I really like the way you made the hives, I'm going to have to bookmark this for future reference!
  23. Thank you! Well, I guess the eyes are just what you have to deal with when it comes to older minifigs.
  24. EDIT: See my next post.
  25. Young Anni on Tatooine IMO the sand I used for desert has too many pebbles, etc. to be Tatooine, but it's still okay-looking. I absolutely love this fig. The Naboo Starfighter he came in was one of my favourite pre-Dark Age sets, and the figs hold a special place in my heart. C&C wanted, as always!
