Wow! It's really coming together! I love the sign. This might be one of my favourite creations from you yet!

That's EXACTLY what I was wondering! Looking forward to an answer...

Licensed themes definitely benifit TLG, or they wouldn't have them. They've also brought us a lot of great new parts. My personal opinion on them varies with each theme. Love some, hate some. I'll buy the ones I like. And LOTR... just plain freaking awesome!

If you could meet Tolkien himself...
purpleparadox replied to SheepEater's topic in Culture & Multimedia
NO!!!!! I wouldn't have him change One. Single. Thing. Of course, he's my favourite author...but still. On topic: Probably Gandalf Arrives, because it's such an iconic scene, and Shelob Attacks, because IMO it's the best LOTR set so far. -
Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?
purpleparadox replied to purpleparadox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm a bit strange when it comes to licensed themes...I love MOCing for them, but most of the figs and sets I dislike. LOTR completely destroys that pattern though. I love those sets and figs too! -
Thank you! Let's hope the Drow keep their beasts in Nocturnus. But if they make an alliance with Victor I wouldn't be so sure...

That's cool! I'll be watching to see what comes next! -
Great work Multiverse- you've posted some awesome vigs throughout the forums lately! I really like the arch in "Falsely Accused", do you mind if I try something similar? Again, great job!

'STAR WARS DARK BUCKET' project has reached 10K supporters on
purpleparadox replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Dark Bucket will almost definitely not happen. The bottle is highly unlikely too. Personally I don't like the idea anyway so it doesn't bother me...but like Insane Ostritch, I'd buy a Kingdoms or LOTR bucket. -
A very good idea...I'm sure Nariek will make his way to Everlast soon.

Thanks! I realized I forgot to name the mountain range between the Siccus Badlands and Nocturnus...my computer won't load the images of the map, but is it the Rakath Mountains? That's what I'll put until someone can let me know for sure.

Continuing my story...Drow Dragon Summoning -
Drow Dragon Summoning Continued from: Meet at the Cottage, Beginning the Journey The events leading up to the dragon... We rode our steeds swiftly and silently through the Rakath Mountains. We would've been quieter than a hobbit's footstep, had it not been for that dreadful cart. It was louder than a Warg with a rusty knife in it's backside! "I say we abandon some of the load, or I fear the Drow'll hear and attack us!" warned Nathan. "The Nocturnians who stand up to the Drow need all the help we can give." I replied. "We abandon nothing." Still, Nathan stayed wary of every little sound in the rocks. I'll admit, my mind was on Reina. I could practically hear her breathing. Wait...I could hear her breathing! "Reina...I told you not to come! Hide from me no longer; though I'm mad, I'll do you no harm." She'd buried herself under all the armour! As she dragged herself out, Nathan surveyed the area. "We're making too much noise." "Would you forget the noise?" I was annoyed. I had Reina mount my horse behind me, and we rode onward for two more days. We took a brief break and set up camp. I used the time to talk to Reina. "Just like all the old times," she joked. "You know, adventuring! Except now we have a real purpose." "As I recall, I had a real purpose. You snuck along, like a hitchiker." I teased. "And those adventures as children...I doubt anything will be better than that." "Nothing? Nothing could be better?" She asked. "Well, those evenings beside the fire. At the cottage. Me with my guitar, you with your paints, and all of Kaliphlin unaware of our own little world. That's what I want again, after this war." I walked away. It was cold in the mountains. I drew my cloak about me closer, and closed my eyes. I woke to the sound of Reina screaming. I swore, should anyone hurt her, I'd kill them. Man or beast, they'd feel the sting of my blade. Rats and the like scrambled out of my way as I hurtled toward the noise of scuffles. It was the drow. Dressed in all black, they must've been scouts sent to investigate our noise! They didn't speak a word. I began to fight them off. I really was more of the type to sing songs about these battles, not fight them! But for Reina, I'd do anything. I plunged my blade into a Drow's chest. Night fell, and it became hard to distinguish Nathan or Reina from the Drow. Suddenly, Nathan crumpled as a Drow struck him across the head. Now I could barely see at all! I caught a glimpse of Reina disappearing with a Drow kidnapper. The whinny of a horse was obvious, and I heard it gallop off. Reina's screams faded into the night. I dropped to my knees in defeat. I couldn't even see my hands in front of my face! How dark did it get here? And now it was raining. Or...no, not rain. Tears were streaking down my face. Many hours later, Nathan was finally roused. We quickly made a plan; He'd go on and deliver the supplies, while I'd go after the kidnappers. It was midnight as we bid farewell. I could only see the faintest silhouette as I said, "May all the speed of Historica go with you." Many hours later, Nathan pulled up to the border of the Rakath Mountains and Nocturnus. He was greeted by a single Avalonian, obviously part-elf. "Greetings, and the best of tidings from Kaliphlin!" said Nathan. "I am Nathan Francis, brother of Nariek Francis, and he has sent me to deliver these supplies to aid you in the war." "Well," said the Avalonian, "actually Avalonia has been called back from the war. Deliver those to the loyal Nocturnians instead." "That was planned as well," replied Nathan, "but why do you return to Avalonia? The Drow are still a threat." "You haven't heard then? There's a much worse threat than them. Remember Victor, the old historian? Well he-" Suddenly the Avalonian was interrupted. There was a dark mist and neither could see. But suddenly it cleared, and there was a gigantic dragon! Ridden by a Drow Witch, it was incredibly menacing. With a single stomp, the dragon sent all of the supplies flying. "A worse threat than this?" Nathan cried. "There's nothing worse than us." said the Drow witch. "Go to hell where you came from!" shouted Nathan. It seemed like the Francis brothers were fond of saying that. The two warriors began attacking in vain, arrows and sword not even piercing the dragon's scales. Suddenly a claw flashed came out of nowhere, pinning the Avalonian to the ground. "So this ends our short time fighting as allies." He said. "Well, you Kaliphlins aren't all as bad as you seem." "Wait! Maybe I can help you out!" Nathan cried. The Avalonian closed his eyes as the dragon pushed, and Nathan heard a sickly crunch of ribs snapping. Nathan mounted his horse, knowing he could do no good if he too died. He rode off to warn Nocturnus that the Drow had at least one witch and dragon. And what had the Avalonian said about a greater threat? To be continued...

Another Percy Jackson movie?!? Please, no! That movie was one of the biggest book-to-movie-transitions I've ever watched, it was a huge letdown! Although I guess the sets would make good fantasy parts packs.

I got Purist MOCer too, although I'm definitely no purist...

WIP Decal: Lego store employee
purpleparadox replied to purpleparadox's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Really? Great! I'll make a Canadian version then, seeing as Canadians are the best! If I go to the Calgary store I'll let you know, maybe I'll be able to meet you. -
@Tria: I'm almost positive a Game of Thrones series will, unfortunately, never happen. TLG's core consumer group is way too young for a lot of content in that series. It'd be sweet though!

@LEGO Historian: That is an awesome MOC! You've been building great creations since before I was born! -
Awesome! (As usual). Great gas pump, and I love the little office with the employee at his computer. I'm guessing a Kroger supermarket is on the way? Looking forward to more from you!

Wow! That's really, really, awesome! Things like this are starting to get me more interested in micro-builds! Umm...yeah, it's on there :

Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?
purpleparadox replied to purpleparadox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well guys, the whole problem is just me being a really indecisive person. I spent a ton of time thinking about it, and realized, as a huge LOTR fan, I need those sets! But now I've got a pretty big problem...budget. A great thing about not buying them, is I don't spend any money on them! I still have no desire for SW, POTC, etc, at all. And most fleshies are ugly. But LOTR is pretty dang awesome. So yep, I should probably just give these things some thought before I post topics. Now to plan how I'm supposed to buy all that LOTR... -
Thanks, great idea for a topic! But the second batch is easier than the first IMO.
-
I agree. That way I can catch up on the whole thing! If you do compile it all, PDF please! That'd be great.
-
Dangit! Ninjago was pretty cool. Tons of neat new figure parts, especially with the snakes. I just hope they don't stop suddenly with no conclusion. They've done that with Bionicle and Exo-Force.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
purpleparadox replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That question made me wonder...how does TLG get away with things like the Shadow ARF or TC-14? They're just figures. Is it because the figure's given away as a promo, so TLG doesn't directly profit from it?
