1. 6125 - Sea Sprint 9 - Theme: Aquazone (Aquanauts) LXF File Errors: - Part 30014 (Arm Holder Brick 1 x 2 with 2 Horizontal Fingers) was not available in LDD, so I used 3700 (Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Hole) and 6048 (Arm Piece with Pin, 2 Fingers) connected together instead. - (2x) Part 3633 (Fence 1 x 4 x 1) cannot attach to the model as the instructions indicate, so I left the sidepods to the sides of the model. - (2x) Part 2599 (Minifig, Footgear Flipper) cannot attach to the model as the instructions indicate, but I placed it near its correct position. - (2x) Part 37 (Minifig, Weapon Knife) cannot be colored Chrome Silver, so I colored it Metalized Silver instead. - (2x) Part 412 (Arm Piece Turned with 2 and 3 Fingers) was not available in LDD, so I used 3612 (Arm Piece Straight with 2 and 3 Fingers) instead. - Decorations are either approximate or missing entirely. 6145 - Crystal Crawler - Theme: Aquazone (Aquanauts) LXF File Errors: - Part 30014 (Arm Holder Brick 1 x 2 with 2 Horizontal Fingers) was not available in LDD, so I used 3700 (Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Hole) and 6048 (Arm Piece with Pin, 2 Fingers) connected together instead. - (2x) Part 2605c01 (Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 2 1/3 with Spring Unit) was not available in LDD, so I used 3700 (Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Hole), 3022 (Plate 2 x 2), and 3x 3023 (Plate 1 x 2) connected together instead. - (2x) Parts 37 (Minifig, Weapon Knife) and 38 (Minifig, Weapon Harpoon) cannot be colored Chrome Silver, so I colored them Metalized Silver instead. - (4x) Part 412 (Arm Piece Turned with 2 and 3 Fingers) was not available in LDD, so I used 3612 (Arm Piece Straight with 2 and 3 Fingers) instead. - Decorations are either approximate or missing entirely. -Toa Of Justice
2. This sounds like an awesome project. Here's my contribution--a grey rock. LXF File Rock on! -Toa Of Justice
3. A friend of mine suggested that I recolor the missiles and cockpit to trans-blue rather than trans-orange, so I did. Unfortunately, it no longer fits the Ice Planet color scheme, but I think it still looks good. ^click to enlarge^ LXF File -Toa Of Justice
4. Thanks, everyone! I originally wanted to build a fighter jet, but since I also wanted to build something using the Ice Planet color scheme, I decided to make my MOC a spaceplane--that is, an airplane capable of flying through air and space. -Toa Of Justice
5. This is an Ice Planet spaceplane capable of reaching Mach 9. It features retractable landing gear, an opening cockpit, storage compartment, and engine compartment, as well as moveable thrusters. Basically, I really wanted to build something using the Ice Planet 2002 color scheme, but since 2012 is right around the corner, I consider my MOC to be from an evolution of the Ice Planet theme as if it were coming back in 2012 (which I don't think it is, but I can dream, right? ). That and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird inspired the name of my MOC. Click on any picture to enlarge it. < LXF File - Brickshelf Gallery > Thanks for looking! -Toa Of Justice
6. I tried to launch LDD from within LDD Manager's Import interface by clicking the "Open selected model in LDD" button. Nothing came up at all. However, I can open a model by double-clicking its name in the import list. Here's my specs: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit (Service Pack 1) CPU: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad CPU RAM: 4 GB GPU processor: GeForce GTS 250 Access 2007 LDD Version: 4.1.8 (Brick version 434) -Toa Of Justice
7. I believe 2594 is designed to fit 3842 (the classic helmet), not 30124 (the modern helmet). Try it in this LXF file. -Toa Of Justice
8. My post containing 5994 Catapult has been updated for LDD version 4.1.8. -Toa Of Justice
9. First I selected one axle and moved it. The axle would only move through the bearing in large increments. Then, I selected both axles and moved them together. This time, the axles moved through their bearings smoothly. I think there ought to be a slide position control like there is for hinges (including a slide handle interface and a numeric input box). -Toa Of Justice
10. 4310 - Orange Racer - Theme: Racers (Drome Racers) LXF File Errors: No printing on the front mudguard element, and although the instructions call for two red 1x4 plates, the BrickLink inventory suggests there could be a single 2x4 plate in the set instead. -Toa Of Justice EDIT: 4309 - Blue Racer - Theme: Racers (Drome Racers) LXF File Error: No printing on the windscreen element. EDIT 2: 4308 - Yellow Racer - Theme: Racers (Drome Racers) LXF File Error: No printing on the windscreen element, and although the instructions call for two red 1x4 plates, the BrickLink inventory suggests there could be a single 2x4 plate in the set instead. EDIT 3: 5994 - Catapult - Theme: Knight's Kingdom II LXF File Errors: -I could not find part #47576 in LDD. UPDATE August 9, 2011: LDD 4.1.8 made this part available! -The axles can't center individually in their bearings, but I can center both axles simultaneously. -I cannot perfectly center the horse helmet on the clip. -When I tried to activate the catapult's hinge, it moved the whole catapult as well as the hinge! It reminded me of cheap medieval engineering in certain comedies and cartoons. In order to get the hinge into a proper position, I had to remove one of the TECHNIC pins and the bearing from the rest of the model, rotate it, and then put it back.
11. I tried building that wheel myself, and I got no crash. I'm running LDD 4.1.7 on... Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit (Service Pack 1) 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 4 GB of RAM DirectX version: 11.0 GPU processor: GeForce GTS 250 Driver version: 275.33 LXF File -Toa Of Justice
12. Cargo Plane Other images: Front Back LXF File -Toa Of Justice P.S. Can I have more than one entry picture, or only one picture per entry? EDIT: Thanks, Calabar. I have added two additional image links.
13. Thanks for the review, Omicron Squad Leader! Scorpio looks decent, but how well can it stand up? It doesn't seem like those limbs would support it very well, but I hope I'm wrong about that. -Toa Of Justice
14. My scans of the Savage Planet comic are here, and scans (from someone else) of the Ordeal of Fire comic are here. I think it would be very helpful if these links were added to the first post of this topic. -Toa Of Justice
15. MMMB039 - Lighthouse - Theme: Monthly Mini Model Build Version 1 (according to the instructions) LXF File Version 2 (according to this picture) LXF File -Toa Of Justice
16. I was building some experimental Hero Factory weapons in LDD, and I found a couple of bugs crawling around in them. I suspect Witch Doctor sent the bugs. In the top weapon, the flick-fire missile's TECHNIC pin goes partway through the 3.2 mm bar hole of the HF gun base. In the bottom weapon, the 2x2 dish won't go very far up the lance, even though it doesn't seem to collide with the Furno 1.0 sword. LXF File -Toa Of Justice
17. Not bad! Your creation almost seems like it could transform and combine with the chopper to form some unusual construction vehicle. I'm afraid I don't know what movie you're talking about, but your model does look a little familiar. Perhaps if you tell me what the movie is, it'll jog my memory. -Toa Of Justice
18. It could be just my scanner. The actual print version seems a little less faded than my scanned version. I wonder why this wasn't promoted with the 2.0 wave. Perhaps LEGO wasn't sure how the fans would use the new building system. Now that there are quite a few published MOCs using the new system, LEGO may have decided it was OK to promote its construction potential. Didn't the original Bulk had a one-handed weapon? Same here. -Toa Of Justice
19. I just made these scans of the Savage Planet comic! Each page is 600 pixels or less in width and 255 KB or less in file size. Front Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Page 6 Page 7 Page 8 Page 9 Page 10 Back How do you like them? -Toa Of Justice EDIT: I also have scans of the Hero Factory 3.0 promo from the magazine. Each of these images may have more pixels, but each one is still under 255 KB. Promo Page 1 Promo Page 2 EDIT 2: I almost forgot to give the Brickshelf gallery link. EDIT 3: I recently realized that my magazine promo scans were cut off in some places. To rectify this, I re-scanned both pages and stitched them together into a single image (1577x1023; 737 KB).
20. 6465 - Space Port Jet - Theme: Town (Space Port) LXF File On the minifigure, similar decorations have been used in place of the official ones. In addition, the visor has a different part number (23318) than BrickLink's (x111) and is not Chrome Gold (I couldn't find that exact color in LDD), but rather 310 Metalized Gold. 48183 has been used in place of 4859. 44822 has been used in place of 4625 so 44571 could stand in for 4857 in the model. The black tile (3068b), tail fin (6239), and wings (2340) lack decorations. -Toa Of Justice P.S. Awesome post, Superkalle! It certainly lifted my spirit.
21. Very nice work! I especially like his arms and weapons. -Toa Of Justice EDIT: I just noticed that Stier's weapons seem to have disappeared when he went to go fight Steinner. Is that on purpose? Also, I noticed that Johnny S's picture is missing in your first post. EDIT 2: Are Stier and Steinner related at all? Their names seem similar to me.
22. I tried reinstalling, but the error message still came up. I think there should be an option for allowing multiple instances, or at least a reversion back to the old way (loading a new instance over the current instance). Then again, another drawback of having multiple instances could be immense strain on the CPU (especially if both instances are large models with lots of pieces). -Toa Of Justice
23. The following error message comes up every time I try to load a model file while I have a model file open: LDD used to load the old instance over the new one. Now I have to close LDD and then open the other model file. Why this change in behavior? Wouldn't allowing multiple instances be a better solution? -Toa Of Justice
24. The link to your LXF file doesn't seem to work. Here is the correct link: lxf Download Result: lxf Download -Toa Of Justice
