Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Yeow replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I'm on this website to talk to other adult fans about Lego. I'm not going to stop myself from criticizing something because it's designed for kids because I don't care about seeing it from a kids perspective. Those under 18 aren't even allowed on this board in the first place, so if you're upset about seeing adult tiered complains, then you're on the wrong forum. -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I know police boats have always been on the simpler side, but I'm really not seeing a lot of differences here. Might be time to party like it's 1999. And without fail, someone has to post saying Lego City is for kids like it's some big unknown mystery. -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

I can't help but be annoyed at the massive tires they insist on using for the fire 18 wheeler and the prisoner transport. They look awful and I'm sure they will cause the prices of the sets to rise as well. The town center and the modern house seem great in theory, but I can't help but think they needed an extra $10 to fill them out a bit more. They just seem a bit hollow out of the box to me, but I suspect that the roads take up a lot of parts budget. Right now the only must buy sets for me out of this wave are the camper and the tractor, which as a big city fan, is pretty disappointing. Maybe Town Centre as well once Amazon uh, adjusts the price a bit. -
Something is getting replaced. Lego only has so much shelf space and only produces so many sets per year. If Trolls sets exist, they're taking up part of that. Consumers have the right to be worried about what a company is doing. Here's something else that's really simple: if you don't like the negative comments, don't read them

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Yeow replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's like you didn't even read what I said and are just regurgitating the same argument I was complaining about. I'm quite aware Lego designers do not have AFOLs in mind, it has no bearing on my opinion of the set. -
LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Yeow replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The amount of people here and on other sites that respond to any criticism that people have by saying "yOu HaVe tO kEeP iN mInD tHeSe aRe DeSiGnEd FoR kIdS". is quite annoying. Everyone knows that these sets are designed for kids, you're not revealing some big secret by pointing this out. Just because kids are the main target audience doesn't mean we're not allowed to have opinions on the sets. -
Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Yeow replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Gotta say, I'm really disappointed in 60239 Police Car. I was hoping to at least use the stickers to make my own 4 wide variant, but that hood sticker is just so large... I don't necessarily hate 6 wide builds, because Speed Champions has some amazing designs, but City 6 wide cars just don't have the budget to be good or unique. At least some of the Fire Trucks this year are really well done. -

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Yeow replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
This one interests me, but that vehicle so massive! It's like the MRAP from 60140: Bulldozer Break-In on steroids. That plus the VTOL aircraft it comes with will make that a scary price point. Burger bar rescue looks interesting, as does the combine harvester carrier. They redid 4209: Fire Plane as well, but that's a pass for me, but the construction site rescue with the longer fire truck might be alright. -
I'm super excited for this one and will be picking it up despite the less than ideal price point. I've wanted this one ever since it was first revealed back in the day, and while 7747 Wind Turbine Transport from City was a pretty good substitute, it wasn't quite the same, but it was like $400 USD cheaper.

Evergreen doesn't mean that it's exempt from ever being cancelled. Bionicle was considered an evergreen theme at one point, and we know how that turned out.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Yeow replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Isn't it too early for another police theme already? The last few police stations were released 2011, 2014, 2017 with secondary police themes (Forest, Swamp, Mountain) being released a year later in 2012, 2015, and 2018. If they are continuing to follow this pattern, we shouldn't be due for another police theme until 2020. However, the last Fire sets were released 2010, 2013, and 2016, so we definitely should get a fire theme in 2019. -
Prices are absolutely out of control. I was interested in it, but not $380 USD worth of interested.

Outside of a few polybags and a couple D2C/retailer exclusive sets, we already know everything that is going to be released this summer. Winter/Spring 2019 would be the earliest we could see a new CCBS theme.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Yeow replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree with this as well. The Grocer part of the Green Grocer is the important part and it was fully furnished. The amount of play features packed into something like the Detective's Office was just too much for me. Combined with it's small size, it really rates as one of the lowest modulars for me, despite some of the nice things inside. I really dislike the addition of cars into the series as well. The one in Palace Cinema was straight up awful and while the Diner's car is better, I'd rather those pieces be used to improve the building more. They release enough cars in City anyways. -
I'm not sure where you're getting this sentiment from in this thread, because the majority of answers so far have been either a resounding "No" or "Maybe the freight train". If I only bought Lego sets that I fully loved 100%, then i would have never gotten into Lego in the first place. I buy the train sets that interest me, but people who think that not buying the sets will suddenly get Lego to produce more Creator Tier trains are misguided. In this day and age, if a line does poorly, it will be cancelled. Nexo Knights and Bionicle fans know this all too well.
-
I'll definitely buy the cargo train and most likely the passenger train, but I can't deny that I'll wait for a sale before picking them up. I understand that most here might not want to because the trains aren't Emerald Night/Maersk tier, but I think the only signal that low sales send is that people don't care about trains anymore, not that their trains aren't good enough.

Not sure if this was brought up before, but in the upcoming Minifigure Factory promo set, there is a pirate microfig included. Not much, but it is nice to see.
-
I believe you just described Galidor. At least, that seemed like the point of Galidor to me. It's why pictures like this exist.
-
It was confirmed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair that Nexo Knights was cancelled. Via Brickset and Zusammengebaut. Regarding 4chan, there have been instances when accurate information has been leaked on 4chan before, but as always, rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, no matter the source.

I was just saying it was theoretically possible for someone to come up with that link themselves and then have a lot of other people click on it to drive it's ranking in the search results higher. Besides, G1 and G2 are grouped together in the same category (Bionicle [Theme]) on Brickset, and presumably G3 would probably be in the same category, not Bionicle Reboot.
-
I'm not missing the point. As this thread has shown, it takes a trivial amount of traffic in order to push a result towards the top of a Google search, particularly a topic that probably isn't Googled all that much in the first place. The fact that you can generate a valid Brickset link containing the text of your choosing without it 404'ing does seem to suggest this is a hoax of some sort. I don't think it's a hoax on the part of Brickset, but it could be due to someone else. I really wish I could eat my words though.
-
Nothing has to be added by anyone to make that link work though. You can replace "Bionicle" and "Reboot" with anything and it'll still turn up with the same page. https://brickset.com/sets/theme-aethaethe-zxcvzxczdew?query=3142

I find it a bit strange that the Cargo train would include a bank vehicle, because the 2018 Mountain Police line already has a bank transport, but I guess they're just being lazy. As long as they don't include robbers in the set, I'm perfectly fine with a bank transport vehicle and vault. If this inclusion results in more kids pestering their parents to buy them train sets, then I'm all for that. Regarding the Passenger one. I'll probably pick it up on sale like I did with the previous passenger train. Definitely not buying that one at full price.
