I'd go for the Winter Toy Shop first, as you're lucky enough there was a second run of it made this year, and I doubt there will be a third run. Then Death Star, Green Grocer, Emerald Night, in that order. Or, skip the Death Star and get all three in one go.

I own all three sets that you are contemplating, and you would definitely be correct about the winter sets sitting in a box for 11 months. They do look slightly awkward near normal town buildings. The MMV is an incredibly versatile set, and could be used in Pirates (PoTC now..), Castle, and Town. In regards to the disappearance of the winter sets, I don't believe that will be happening this year. I bought the Winter Toy Shop last year on it's original run, and I'm almost positive they were sold out in October within weeks after being released. If I had to guess, this will be the last run of Winter Toy Shop, but they may bring back the Backery next year. MMV will probably be discontinued soon, and since it's a higher price, it will be more inflated on eBay, etc.

I don't believe that bow will be in any normal sets as indicated by this.. (6:07pm) - Q: Will collectible minifig accessories trickle into playsystems? A - The intention is to make the acessories exclusive. Source

Not to mention 10213 Shuttle Adventure seems to be more of a tribute of sorts to the shuttle program, as it's ending soon.

The quality in the battle packs, specifically the dragon knights one is a real let down for me, even though it's a great idea. I didn't think it would bother me, but the difference between the battle packs and legit sets is astounding.

Historically, this is probably accurate as it takes far less skill to accurately shoot a crossbow than it does a longbow, and is more advanced technology wise. Though you are probably correct about them reserving bows for Indians / Forestmen.

No Time Cruisers reviews? Or am I not searching right?
Yeow replied to TheWarden's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It surprises me at how many reviews we are lacking for some of the older action sets (i.e., Time Cruisers and Aquazone). I'll hopefully be filling in some of the underwater themes reviews soon! -
It's amazing how a lot of the designs and ideas used in all the underwater themes are present in this one screenshot. The color scheme seems to be indicative of Aquasharks, the tubing that appears in Hydronauts/Stingrays. The green sub in the top right, directly under the "sea people" sign even vaguely resembles 6891. The wildlife is also very interesting!

Love the IGA truck/store! I haven't seen one of those in my area for a good 10 years. Ah the memories. That roadside construction vehicle in the beginning is cool too. Great progress!

When I was in second grade (1997-1999 ish), if you got a 100 on a pre-spelling test taken on Monday, you didn't have to take the real one on Friday. I used to get a 100 a lot, and instead of taking the test, I'd get to chill in a play corner of sorts that had toys. One of the tubs had a bunch of minifigs and pieces from the Dragon Knights era.

My bad, I meant to say that the design looked fine, but the color scheme looked weird. Even though Smart Cars do have a line of second color on the back, it just doesn't seem to translate to Lego very well.
-
What in the world did they do to the color scheme of that car! It's a novel little design, but come on.. it looks hideous =\

I agree with your conclusion here. I'd definitely buy the helicopter for that 4 x 4. It looks much better than the "4 x 4" in 7924 Off-Road Rescue, even if that set did help to bring me out of my dark ages. I also think I'm buying about five of those Octan trucks. I'm infatuated with Octan based things and that tanker perfectly captures the soul of the old tanker from back in 1992.

The word "break" is quite ambiguous however. The last "break" that Pirates went on (not including 4 Juniors and the four Lego Legends sets) lasted 12 years.

The ladder truck from 7208 reminds me of the bus from 7641 City Corner

There are no blue ones, only Black, Red, Yellow, White and Dark Pink. http://peeron.com/inv/parts/4719c01

Everyone seems to be forgetting the fact that there will be a second wave in Summer 2010. Most of the civilian sets in 2009 were released in the second wave anyways, minus the 4WD with horse trailer and the City Mini-Figure Collection
-
This seems possible, but they must of backed off. They still do promotional releases with Shell and those sets listed further up were from the late 1990's. There is also a McDonald's set and a few Exxon sets as well.

I am interested in the Academy as well. Photographing Lego sets shall be interesting.

Dark Green and Maersk Blue are my favorites.

I think that if Lego to ever was do a re-run of the 9v supplies, they would do something similar to that LUGBULK that's being offered on the front page, where you would have to submit an order months in advance. Not to mention they would probably only offer it like.. once. Actually, I doubt they would ever do something like this without a HUGE fan push, but this would probably make the most sense economically if they WERE to do it.

I work as Customer Service in a supermarket and I have yet to see a kid that's happy to be there. And school? When it comes to LEGO's core customers, these would sell terribly!
-
Apparently, this particular rumor ended up being true. XD

LUGBULK - New concept for the AFOL community
Yeow replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
How in the world can they restrict if you sell them or not? Would this not fall under the first sale doctrine? -
According to an employee at a local Lego store here, Market Street has been out of production since April.
