Keep the builds coming! I would try different combinations of bricks and develop an architectural style for Carn. Think of the building materials the LEGO bricks are "representing". It should help you build more detailed structures.

Great build! Neat cutaway showing the cellar as well! -
Great build! I really like the tiles on the outside wall. I have thought about doing that for some time now but haven't got around to it yet. Now that I see it done it makes me want to go build it....

[The man in exquisite armor sees a gleam of triumph in Krell's eyes. The bait had worked. One thing still bothered him however. Why had he never heard of nor encountered this man before?] The man in exquisite armor: "Some would disagree with you about the purity part and how do you know that I have the skill to match your abilities?" [A man of evident class enters the tavern. He is clothed in a nobleman's attire complete with shirt, doublet, hose, and cap. He sees the man in exquisite armor and hurries over to him.] The man in exquisite armor: "Ahh, Gaius, I see you have finally arrived. Do me a favor and keep these good fellows company. And remember... do not cease to keep an eye out for her." [The man in exquisite armor introduces Gaius and Krell to each other before standing to leave.] The man in exquisite armor: "Farewell friends! And Krell, be cautious with information you acquire. Information without a key to decipher it can be deadlier than having no information at all ." [The man in exquisite armor winks at Krell before leaving the tavern.]

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Mike S replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I am impressed by all the great Kaliphlin entries. Awesome job guys! -
[The man in exquisite armor locks eyes with Krell. This fellow was difficult to read.] The man in exquisite armor: "Indeed, it is so. I would introduce myself but as I have many enemies, I should first know the nature of your interest with me." [The man in exquisite armor watches the black coated man and wonders what he is up to.]

[The man in exquisite armor notices that his table companions seem to have dozed off probably from too much mead. He is relieved as he really did not feel like telling the story again anyway. Eying the newcomer who introduced himself to Gabbold as Krell, he calculates the odds of it being coincidence that he ordered ice water. It was rare to find a Historican that abstained from ale, mead, and wine upon entering a tavern so it was high chance it was meant to be a signal. But as the man seemed to hail from the southern lands where a mug of pure ice water could sometimes fetch a higher price than a mug of its alcoholic counterparts, one could not hastily come to conclusions. He would wait and see if the man attempted to signal again.]

[The man in exquisite armor begins his tale.] The man in exquisite armor: "It was toward the end of the Revolword War. The Phantom Legion had gathered at a secret location in the Kaliphlin desert. The place has since become known as the Black Pyramid. We had been camped there for quite a few months but it wasn't until a few days before we marched for Cedrica that we discovered..." [suddenly the man stops speaking and searches the room. His eyes pierce the darkness under the balcony. An elven maiden hides in the darkness there. The man had noticed "Hunter's" departure but had missed this maiden's entrance. He must keep an eye on her for perhaps she is the one he seeks. He turns back to Govannon.] The man in exquisite armor: "Please excuse me for the interruption, now let me get back to the tale. Yes, it wasn't until a few days before we marched for Cedrica that we discovered the secret staircase. We all had assumed that the pyramid was just a house to protect the sacred tree within from the harsh climate but little did we know that we were on the threshold of a portal to another age... an age long forgotten yet whose civilization make the greatest civilizations of the present look like child's play." [The man notices Vladivus leave and wonders for a moment if he should have introduced himself. But the moment quickly flees as he knows this is neither the time nor the place as there were other eyes here that were watching and ears that were listening.]

[The man in exquisite armor is about to make a quick reply to Svangen when a massive man, whose name evidently is Govannon, plops into the chair across the table from him nearly breaking it. The man realizes that he won't be able to continue his eavesdropping with all these interruptions so he beckons Svangen to an empty chair at the table.] The man in exquisite armor: "Come, gather round. I will tell you of a tale if you will... a tale of a young Drow outcast, a lost city, and a treasure worth more than ten kings."

[The man in exquisite armor shrugs at Svangen.] The man in exquisite armor: "One cannot be held responsible for the actions of their friends. Lucky for him though that this is a time of war and every able body is needed in the defense against the drow. Otherwise I would have dealt with his actions more severely." [The man in exquisite armor settles back in his chair. It might end up being a long wait but she would come... eventually. Of this he was quite sure. In the meantime he would listen and watch in the shadows for it was not uncommon to gather useful information in such a place as this.]
-
[The man in exquisite armor looks at the man named Janus and shrugs.] The man in exquisite armor: "No harm done old man. Move along now so you don't get hurt as this dwarven fellow here seems intent on a fight." [The man in exquisite armor turns back to Ralkar and takes hold of the top of the shaft just below the blade of the axe imbedded in the table. The shaft snaps as his fingers close around it. He then turns to Master Gabbold.] The man in exquisite armor: "Another cup of the same, please."
-
[The man in exquisite armor eyes the two Mitgardians with a steady gaze.] The man in the exquisite armor: "Perhaps this was your table a while ago. But as you see, it is now mine." [The man in exquisite armor turns his gaze to stare at the Mitgardian named Ralkar.] The man in the exquisite armor: "Ralkar is it? It would be in your own interest if you headed your companion's advice." [The man in exquisite armor goes back to meditating on the cup in front of him while he continues to subtly watch and listen to all that goes on in the tavern.]
-
[The door of the tavern opens and a man covered in exquisitely crafted black platemail with silver trim enters. His head is covered by a silver galea with a red plume, but his face is clearly visible. His eyes have dark circles around them and his mouth remains in a scowl as he quickly surveys the room before walking over to Master Gabbold, his sabatons clanking noisily against the wooden floor.] The man in the exquisite armor: "I will have a cup of ice water and whatever the special of the day is, to eat." [Master Gabbold hesitates and then raises his eyebrows.] Master Gabbold: "Is it the Mitgard Ice Ale or pure water with ice in it you wish for?" The man in the exquisite armor: "I wish for the latter, a cup of pure water with ice in it." Master Gabbold: "Right, sir! Coming right up!" [Having paid Master Gabbold, the man in the exquisite armor takes his cup of ice water to an unoccupied table where he has a good view of the entire room as well as the door.]

Character Intro- Kashifa ibn Mu'adh
Mike S replied to Thomas of Tortuga's topic in Guilds of Historica
As I stated in the Kaliphlin thread, the first pic is just great! But I also like the second one where you can see the hole in the ceiling and the light filtering in. Nice story too! The jungle looks pretty good too but perhaps if the green plate had a green border done either with snot technique or just placing green bricks under the plate on the edges, I think it would make the jungle look thicker.- 28 replies
