  1. This sounds very promising! CopMike, I think it's time we get SweBrick going It's very nice that TLG cares so much about their fans that they decides to offer us this kind of service. I will think of this every time TLG does something I don't like and then keep my mouth shut. Thank you LEGO!
  2. You're a little late. We already have a discussion going on in this topic.
  3. Välkommen Torax! Always nice to see another Swede joining EuroBricks. How come you live in Australia? It about as far from our home country as you can get If you're interested you can check out SweBrick also for some Swedish Lego chit-chat. Enjoy your stay!
  4. Not much really, the horse and maybe the minifig stands for the green toy soldiers. You're right about the many possible uses for the torsos and other minifig parts and they might be worth to pay for. But I fear that the sets won't be just figs but including some brick-built toys too, and if they are built like the remote controlled car that we've seen pictures of I don't think I will like them. A bit too colourful for me. I think the biggest problem for me with the Toy Story theme is that I'm not thrilled about the movies and therefore doesn't appreciate the sets that much. Oh, and sorry for calling the minifigs "dorky", I should have expressed myself in a more constructive manner
  5. I got one MISB that I'm willing to trade. I might be able to get another one too These are some of the pieces that I'm looking for: Heads Headgear (Any colour) (black only) Torsos Other (in reddish brown and dark green) Viking shields (small with stickers) Dark orange plates Dark tan plates Light bluish grey bricks, 1x2 up to 1x6 Light bluish grey slopes Dark bluish grey slopes Hopefully you got something from that list, otherwise just contact me and we might be able to find other solutions
  6. Good job, Striker! I can see the minifig a little better now but I will need some better pictures before I can judge it properly. The vehicle on the other hand is clearly visible and IMO absolutely hideous. Big no-no from me and it doesn't matter how good the minifigs will be - I can't justify to buy such awful set just to get 1 good minifig. I think we have enough big, unrealistic vehicles already in PM, SP3 and SW - therefore no need of jet another similar theme. I was really hoping for something better than this, like a combination of the old Divers and Adventurers theme Well well, I guess I will be focusing on other themes in 2010. I fear this will be just like the Power Miners theme with human heroes plundering the locals of their resources
  7. Which sets were those? -Omi I believe he means January this year with Shanghai Chase and Fight on the Flying Wing
  8. This looks like a fun topic, I think I make a list even if I'm not into SW so much: 10. Zam Wesell - Great head! 9. Rebel Commando - Nice torso and helmet, could be very useful in many MOCs 8. Mon Mothma - That dress is lovely and a great hairpiece too. 7. Yoda (the original one) - Classic fig with great torso. 6. Princess Leia (Jabba's Slave, Yellow version) - 5. Jedi Knight - Yes, he's on my list too, great fig IMO with good face, torso and hood 4. Emperor Palpatine (Yellow version) - Perfect head for old and sick people, and the black robe pattern on the torso is also nice. 3. Qui-Gon Jinn (Yellow version) - Tan robes and exclusive hairpiece. Nice! 2. Bespin Guard - Super awesome torso! I want it! 1. Luke Skywalker (Tatooine, Yellow version) - Great classic minifig with excellent torso - and leg printing! Sadly I don't own any of these minifigs at the moment, just parts of them
  9. That's why I don't like those either! On the other hand, those new long arms and legs can be useful
  10. No! That was certainly not what I wanted! I can of course hope that it's fake but I don't think so. It looks very real... like some sort of underwater Power Miners. Well, at least this is good for my wallet
  11. Mainly the big heads Although I was quite impressed when I saw how similar the LEGO version was to the "original", it still doesn't do it for me. And maybe this scepticism from me is just because I didn't liked the movies that much I also like minifigs with parts you can use in many different situations and I think it will be hard to use, for example Woody's head, as anything else than as Woody's head.
  12. Thanks for the info Christian! I'm not very excited about the Toy Story sets, from the pictures I've seen of the minifigs they seem pretty dorky IMHO. But I might pick up the 7595 Green Toy Soldiers if it's not too expensive. at least they look like normal minifigs (except being all green ) and can probably be used in many different ways. PS. JCC1004 and Oky Wan Kenobi, please discuss the Toy Story sets here. I don't like to mini-mod but I don't want this thread to turn into something like this one
  13. You're so right, Peppermint_M! Those questions are most relevant for me. This Atlantis theme can be great but also rubbish. Oh, I'm getting excited now
  14. A lot of people have already suggested what I was thinking about, but I'm telling my ideas too (just to strengthen them ) More ships: One for the soldiers (preferably the same size as Brickbeard's Bounty), One smaller pirate ship (like Renegade Runner or Cross Bone Clipper) and one civilian ship (In the same size as the small pirate ship). I think the ships is the most characteristic part of the Pirate theme and I'd like to see more diversity there. A trading port: Like many others said, something like MMV but for Pirates with civilian minifigs. Nikau's idea was very good New heads and torsos: I don't really care about this red coats vs blue coats thing but I do want to have two different soldiers, although I prefer a new colour over the classic blue/red (dark green would be lovely ). More diversity of the heads is also wanted! Screaming, wounded, shouting, laughing, sleeping, crying, etc. And of course more female minifigs
  15. My title: - The real Indiana Jones [Given by Ras after he found out that I'm an archaeologist (thanks to this vignette)]
  16. That's one absolutely amazing ship! The stern is very nicely detailed and have a beautiful colour scheme Most probably "The Lion of Lübeck" (Luebeck if the german ü isn't available)
  17. An ending of the Indiana Jones theme would be very sad, it's a very good theme. I really like many of the sets, especially the non-vehicle ones. But I think IJ is beginning to run short of ideas for new sets and I think it's better to stop before everything is made (leave something for the MOC-builders ). One more wave would be nice though One positive side effect of IJ ending would be that it opens a door for the Adventures theme to come back. That theme is one of the best themes ever and still have great amount of possibilities!
  18. Here is the topic of this rumour: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=30060
  19. Sad - but not surprising - news that is IJ has been a great theme but like in all licensed themes the ideas for new sets quickly runs thin. In a way I'm happy that IJ ends before it becomes an repeating-set theme like SW has been. Sure there are some scenes from the movies left that could been made into sets but why not leave that to the MOCers
  20. The others aren't Lego except the skeleton head and the red legs. What they are I can't tell you but it sure isn't Lego
  21. I think this was the set that ended my dark age too! The Viking theme was great, despite being very historically inaccurate (Vikings did not have horned helmets! ). I really like the minifigs torsos and the shields. This was the only set in the theme that contained an surplus of shields which I found very useful. The construction of the boat was very clever and nicely done. I didn't care much for the dragon but it's not bad either. I give the set 8/10, I would buy it again if I got the chance
  22. Thank you Sir Wellington! I've been thinking about a Poltova MOC for a while now and would really like to give it a try. But I have to wait some more because I don't have the time now in the summer. Hopefully this autumn will be filled with MOCing and other LEGO activities But I have another small MOC featuring my Carolean soldiers, picturing the Carolean Death March. In 1718 Sweden had lost a lot of territories in the east to Russia after several defeats in the Great Northen War. The Carolean army was too weak to take on the Russian army so the Swedish king Charles XII decided instead to attack Russia's ally, Denmark-Norway. The attack was made on Norway with two armies, one in the south led by the king with the goal to take Christiania (Oslo) and one in the north that was supposed to take Trondheim. But the 30th November Charles XII was killed during the siege of Fredriksten, a fortress near the Swedish border and the Swedish army was ordered to retreat back to Sweden. At that time the northern army had already failed to take Trondheim and was in very bad condition. The Swedish General, Carl Gustaf Armfeldt, received the orders to retreat around Christmas and decided to take the shortest way back to Sweden, across the Tydal mountain range. The 5 800 men left the village of Østby at New Year's Day 1719 but in the afternoon a violent blizzard struck the army and during the night and the following two days around 3000 soldiers died on the mountains, frozen to death. Of the survivors that made it back to Sweden about 700 more died shortly after and 600 was crippled for life. It's a very small MOC and I might try to make a bigger one when I find the time for it
  23. Nice to see that some people is interested in trading I'm quite busy right now and for the next two weeks, but if you're interested please send me a PM with your offer and we might work something out. I don't have regularly access to internet right now so it may take a few days before I answer but I will do my best. PS. I got an offer on Dr. Inferno so he might not be available anymore.
  24. Thank you very much everyone for your kind words ! All your suggestions to make the MOC better is really good and I wish I could make all of them, but unfortunately I don't have the time (nor the pieces) right now But I really appreciate your comments, they will be handy when I make my next MOC Remember, sustainability never goes out of style!
  25. Thank you very much for your kind comments. I'm happy that you liked it! I would love to make some surroundings for this MOC but I don't have enough pieces and/or time for that That wouldn't be a bad guess, I think
