I don't think we will get a Elven theme in meaning of a "stand-alone-theme". All signs of the elven has been as a faction in the current Castle theme. At most you can call it a sub-theme but I don't think legomilk included those in his list. As for how likely it is that we get elven sets next year I think it's quite likely but I see no need of speculating this far ahead. Time will show us

We rule! EDIT: eh well, maybe Russia rule

Yey, more comics from Sandy! It seems you got a lot of work in head of you, I hope it turns out as good as the previous. Good luck from an eagerly waiting supporter

Thank you for this great review, Cutlass_Iz! This is probably one of my all time favourite sets actually. Firstly, I like that it's small. When this set came out to stores I was just a teenager with very little money, so sets like this was what I usually bought. Then I really like the minifigs, Lucius is magnificent with nothing but useful parts and Dobby is quite nice too, at least with those short tan legs. And now to the main reason why I like this set so much, it have great parts in lovely colours! I really loved the HP colour scheme with tan, dark grey and sand green. If I could find this set today in stores for the same price I would buy a whole bunch instantly. My vote is Outstanding!

It's a old, sick tree with dead branches that needs to be cut down before it falls upon the fence

I received a bricklink order with some green plates not long ago and I tried to make some good landscaping out of them. I think that is a important factor in MOCing and something I enjoy practising on. I guess I need to get some more essential parts before I try something bigger, I'm short of grey slopes and leaf-pieces. I hope you like it : Thanks for watching! /Etzel

Great to see that the new sets are out! (even if it's a long way from my place ) I really hope you find time to make a review of the Drawbridge Defence, it looks really good. What did the sets cost?

This "grande finale" of your IJ '09 reviews was just as great (or even better) as your previous reviews! Sometimes it feels like it's me myself that is building the set Thank you very much for taking time to make these awesome reviews, svelte_corps! I agree with your conclusion of this set, it's the minifigs that are the real deal. I really hope I will be able to get this set but with my current economy I'm not sure... There are just too many great sets this year! My vote for this set will be a "Above Average" - the set itself isn't more than Average but the minifigs takes it to the next level

No, there were no picture of that set, and not of the Creator Christmas set either.

Wow, that Merry-go-around is huge! Lots of rare parts and colours too, just look at all those jester hats! Thank you very much for the pictures, Alywin!

One of my BrickLink orders arrived today: Green plates for landscaping, 2 cool Chinese soldiers, some green foliage, brown doors and some other stuff

REVIEW: Indiana Jones 7196 Chauchilla Cemetery Battle
Etzel replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
Your review is awesome as always, svelte_corps! You are truly a master reviewer! This set is really good IMO. Like you said, a great amount of dark bley slopes which I'm in a big need of. The cemetery warriors are lovely although they would have looked even better if one of them had have another hairpiece. The mc is nice too, I might have too start building some city MOCs to fit it into. Not much to complain about in this set, the overall design isn't overwhelming but what you can expect from TLG. I'm getting this set when it comes to my country. I voted Above Average. -
I think it's a great set, lots of useful, ordinary parts that are important to make Castle MOCs. Arches, wall pieces, big doors and many 1*X light bley bricks. The design of the set isn't bad either, sure the little tower that defies gravity isn't a favourite but the rest reminds me of the classic castle era of the 80's. Minifigs are ok IMO, good to have a king if you haven't got any before and the soldiers are good too. I'm not a big fan of skeletons and certainly not of the "Duplo"-Dragon I think that Tower Raid is a slightly better set than King's Castle Siege but if your looking for a large castle with new colours (like light bley and reddish brown) 7094 is the set to get. But I really recommend you to get the Medieval Market Village as well if can afford it. Those two sets complement each other really good.

It's a great set and a must buy! Thanks for a really good review, svelte_corps! The swordsman is my favorite, I'm lucky to have a scimitar that fits much better than that hideous troll sword. Marions torso is wonderful (if it only had come in yellow ) and it's nice to have a new torso for Indy too. The comeback of the ninja wrap is pure win! I'm quite dissapointed that the white thug's torso shows flesh colour at the neck. I don't like to mix fleshies and normal minifigs and I had hoped for that torso to be "neutral". I don't like the purple roof either, I would have preferred another colour but I guess TLG had to follow the movie Vote: Above Average - I'm going to get at least one copy of this set

Today I found this amazing fan-made film on the internet: The Hunt For Gollum I'm a huge Tolkien fan and loved the official films and this one is great. Take a look for yourself, it's about 40 minutes long and it's free!

Just once. This winter I broke my right fibula when skiing in the Alps. It didn't really hurt much so I was very surprised when the doctor said it was broken

Easy choice, Pirates of course! SW isn't really anything for me, I like the films but I think TLG has used that theme for way too long. It's time for something new.

Done! I checked the box for the option "Add Norway to Shop at Home" in courtesy of our fellow Norwegians

Uh-oh, the Joker has moved to Fabuland! Maybe something for Hinckley to use in his Fabuland Housewives. "Why so serious?"

I placed a BrickLink order as well today. Including two 7416 Emperor's Ship from the Orient Expedition theme and a lot of various small parts. The total cost was $50, my biggest BL order this far. I guess I have to cut back on unnecessary expenses for the next month, like food and clothes

Thank you Cap'n Blackmoor and Erdbeereis! Happy to hear you liked it Well, it was so fun to start building these modules again so I made another one right after the Alley-way. Here is the Gate from Civilian District, number G16 in the Government District. I had trouble including a real working portcullis so the chains and the wheel is just there to make it look good. But hey, you can always use your imagination! This farmer wants to get in to the Government District to sell some goods but then he has to pay the special Gate tax first. Here we have a picture of the two modules I built today together. They are not supposed to be next to each other in the real layout so this is just for fun Now I think I have done enough for today, see you later! /Etzel

Here is a small Alley-way I made today. It's number G13, located between the Dwarven Embassy and the Torture Chamber in Government District. The Beggar's Shack didn't have room for this man so he is living under a barrel now. A kind lady is helping him out with some food while her suspicious guard is making sure she doesn't gets in danger. Overview I hope to contribute with some larger modules soon, but I hope you liked this small one /Etzel

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Etzel replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I had a little spare time today and made this little alley-way (number G13): Some more pictures can be found soon in the Team Beta thread. EDIT: I made another one, number G16, Gate from Civilian: More pictures in Beta thread.
