What's your favorite LEGO license theme so far?
Etzel replied to BrickMonster MonsterBrick's topic in LEGO Licensed
It was really hard to choose between HP and IJ but finally I went for Harry Potter I think it's a bit unfair to include the 2010 themes in the poll, no one has any of the sets and we have only seen pic of one PoP set so far. -
It hasn't been in any pirate set so far but it isn't all new, it was in Agents 8632 Mission 2: Swamp Raid actually. link

The exact same thing happened to me some time ago when I was talking about the same thing. I starting to think Hinckley is contagious... I better get out of here.

You should post this at SweBrick too if you're looking for Swedish buyers (link in my signature).

If you owned every 2009 set and could have one more...?
Etzel replied to PittSOB's topic in LEGO Pirates
Soldier's Fort seems like a good option No, because that isn't a 2009 set -
I own 9½ of them I'm missing Professor Trelawney's, the Troll shaman's and the lower part of the Marauder's Map statue. I really like these dresses and are planning on getting them all. Trelawney's will be the hardest one I think... So, this are the printed dresses only but how many with un-printed dresses are they? I know about some: These may not be as fancy as the printed ones but I think some are not so bad (like the old castle one). Are there more of them?

My LUG (SweLUG) are going to make a display at a toy store. The display will be a street with buildings in CC-style and I really wanted to contribute to it so I made this MOC. It's my first try of building a modular house in CC-style but it was really fun so I will probably make more of them in the future. The house doesn't have a very detailed interior because it won't be visible anyway. And yes, most of the bricks come from the Creator Beach House set Sorry for the bad lightning in the pictures, it's getting dark quick this time of the year... Please tell me what you think, I would appreciate some guidance Thanks for watching! /Etzel

We're not worthy! Nice move by TLG to announce the ending of the Pirate line first and then drop this bomb, they do have some humour So much nice on this ship but if I have to pick one favourite thing it would be the sails, the first realistic looking sails ever. Me like! btw. the captain is slightly different than the governor in Soldiers fort, he got gold epaulettes instead of red and a blue plume instead of a red. I believe that the big knife the chef is this piece that can be found for example in the Power Miner set Crystal King.

Releasing sets with airplanes, big fire trucks and an oil tank truck doesn't sound green to me I think 2009 was much greener then 2010.
-
Why not? It's important to discuss and talk about it so something similar won't happen again. We must learn from our history.

It's a scam al'right Some wacko claimed to have found large boulders that were not natural and after that it all went crazy. "Prehistoric" inscriptions that was carved actually carved in by the excavators, theories about that all the worlds great pyramids were built by the same peoples and lots of pseudo-scientific crap. The current excavation even threatens some medieval remains in the area. But it's a nice natural formation, I think I read that it was found on the land of a friend of his so maybe it was because of that he was searching there. I don't know about the law in England but I don't think you can walk around with metal detectors on someone's property without any permission.

Maybe this is a sign of the new licensed theme, LEGO E.T.?

Looks like I need more practice building walls
Etzel replied to ziljin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice tower! I don't think you should make it smaller, it looks nice when it sticks out a bit from the walls. Some detailing around the windows would look nice I think. It reminds me of a tower in my previous home town Visby: picture -
I will definately come to the EB Event!
Etzel replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'll be there! I really don't want to miss this event. -
Me neither, but I do see the information about the sets coming out in December. And the prices in €, have we seen that before?

Difficult to answer that question. It depends on when we consider that the Western Roman Empire brought down? If we go by the date of the 4th september 476 when the last emperor was deposed then it wasn't any nomadic tribe at all but the own Roman army with it's general Odovacar. Odovacar himself was a foederati, from a barbaric tribe in service of the Roman army. Which tribe isn't sure but most likely Scirii or Heruli. The Ostrogoths didn't invade Italy until 488, encouraged by the Eastern Roman Emperor then felt threatened (or just jealous) of Odovacar.

The SS in Auschwitz tried to destroy the main evidence of the crimes by blowing up the gas chambers in Auschwitz-Birkenau, but most of the rest of the buildings are still standing, including the gas chambers of the first camp (Auschwitz I). EDIT: Beaten by Ezechielle Btw, good topic, Emperor Claudius Rome! I'm really interested in history (and prehistory) and would enjoy some nice discussions Who knows, we might actually learn something too Did anyone hear about the gold treasure an amateur archaeologist found in England recently? It's reported that it's even bigger than the famous Sutton Hoo treasure!

Beautiful, just beautiful! I'm really impressed and inspired by this MOC of yours, SlyOwl. Very touching + a bunch of amazing techniques. Building MOCs from lyrics is a great idea and I bet there will be some more now when you have "cleared the way" Thanks for showing us this masterpiece!

Yes, they've been around for a while but I think that's the only pics we have that shows all of the sets.
-
That's because it's still preliminary, just like the stickered faces and the foam heads on the Atlantis monsters. It will be nice and lovely ABS plastic when we get it, I'm sure of that.
-
It seems it belongs to the upcoming Prince of Persia theme. See here.
-
Nice find! It must be this piece that was brought up in a topic about ninjas in the History Themes forum. Now we know what theme it belongs to. And yes, it's a new piece.

I bought some pieces from a Pick-A-Brick today, in Sweden! (we usually don't have those kind of things) Well, Sweden style PaB means a big cardboard box with lots of mixed up bricks of various interest which you pay for by weight. I got this for 25 SEK ($3.5): And I got Brickbeard's Bounty for about 17% less then S@H price, + coupons for 140 SEK which I probably will use for IJ Temple of Doom Good LEGO day today!

Maybe we aren't talking about the same clues. I meant the "-I can't stand the thought of losing you. Not after losing... -Hush Brigit! Beatrix is listening" and "No, go away, brat! I'm not your mother, I don't even know you." The first one I guess, aims at the Beatrix's sister. The second might just be an effect of Brigit's grief but maybe more... Hmm, red hair... Related to Count Bley's wife maybe... And it seems like Noland's beard was bleached during his years underground
