I think I won it on an event recently held in Sweden, oh no wait that was another set. BrickLink was my friend here once again. But the set that the bearskin comes in is quite interesting, I would definitely buy it if it was LEGO System.
-
No, I didn't see that. I too would like a proper gatehouse, that's been a long time since we saw one of those.

OK, I understand you (even if we have different views on what is classic ). The lion knight's castle is more like the 7094 King's Castle Siege than the 6090 Royal Knight's Castle (I suppose that's the one you meant) and the dragon/snake knight tower is more like 7093 Skeleton Tower than 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress. To me classic style is the 80's castle where 1. Castles were build with surrounding walls on flat ground like 6080 King's Castle and 6074 Black Falcon's Castle. (I agree with you about #2 and the Skeleton Tower, it's clearly much more fantasy. But I was thinking more of the crown knights.) 3. I haven't really seen many castles with interior. I owned the 6886 Black Knight's Castle as a kid, and sure it did have a little house with a table and a barrel and a tower for the ghost but that's not more interior than the King's Castle siege had. And the 80's castles didn't have much of interior either. 4. Well, I was thinking about the crown knights not the skeletons and orcs. But in the era you call classic there were a lot of fantasy elements too. Dragons, wizards, ghosts, skeletons and witches. Not sure if I think Fantasy Era was so much worse in that case. 5. Yes, 6043, 6037 and 2848 are 90's sets which are really strange. And I think the war machines in 7037, 7090 and 7078 is quite realistic. Of course, there are others that are not, but not that many I think. Well, I guess we have some points both of us. But better not spam this topic with those. I'm sure there is some other place we can discuss this Yes, we will probably have to wait some time before we get such an awesome set as MMV. But as a Swedish saying goes: "If you wait for something good, you never wait too long" Sorry, I don't have any link or pictures to share.

No idea of what the third impulse set is, sorry. I only saw the castle on a small picture but it looked similar to the 7094 King's Castle Siege. No raised baseplate but a castle that has walls on all sides and some towers. This is the lion knights castle and the dragon/snake faction has a smaller tower, like 7093 Skeleton Tower in size. I don't really remember the other sets, didn't saw them much except a small thumbnail so I can't say anything about them. To me it seems like the first wave of these new sets will be similar to the first wave of the Fantasy Era in terms of what kind of sets we will get. Probably a catapult set and a jousting set. Classic style? Well that's hard to answer since we all have different views on what's classic style. I thought Fantasy Era was close to classic style with castles that has walls on all sides, no raised baseplate and lots of classical weapons like the old style sword, spear, shields, bows etc. All that differed was the fantasy elements and minifigs according to me. But if classic style to you means sets like 6040 Blacksmith shop, 6041 Armor shop or 6067 Guarded Inn I think you better get yourself another 10193 Medieval Market Village because I don't think TLG will go back to those kind of sets right now. This is a theme mainly aimed at boys 6-12 years with a craving for violence . But... we got MMV, maybe there's a chance of getting something similar in the future?

Yes, that's quite close. I made a quick sketch using the old lion knight design: Something like that With normal red, white and gold. Didn't get a good look at the dragon/snake factions shield, sorry.
-
Not clearly, but I think the colours were red, white and gold for the lions and green and black for the snakes/dragons. I haven't seen any close-up minifigures except the wizard and jester unfortunately. And no, I don't have any pictures to show.

Thank you very much for this review, wooootles! I think this is a nice little set. I haven't liked any of these mini creator sets so far but this one I might actually buy. Green parts is always nice and it could be a good way to stock up on those new headlight bricks.
-
I saw no such sets so I wouldn't worry To be clear, snake/dragon faction doesn't mean it's dragons or snakes - just that the faction has a snake or dragon on their shield. It was more like Lion Knights vs. Black Knights with modern designs.
-
Well, I can confirm that Although I think it was dragons not snakes but I'm not sure.

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be Evil vs. Good in this Castle theme but if it is than I guess he will be evil. And I recall now that he had a small dragon - this piece (originally from Harry Potter) in dark bley. I did see some pictures of the other sets too but they were small and I only saw them for a few seconds. One of the other impulse sets is a red and white jester. I agree, maybe someone from the staff can start a new topic for this The old style.
-
It's only in North America that you have piece counts on the boxes but otherwise you're right. "Limited" only means that the set is available at certain stores and at S@H.
-
Well, I saw two pictures of the wizard impulse set. One where the wizard (which has green clothes btw) has a white beard and one where he has a black beard so I'm not sure which one we will get. I don't really remember what there was more than the wizard but probably a crystal ball or a shelf with potions.
-
If I tell it I'll have to kill you Sorry, but I can't tell you that.
-
Not really, I agree. But on one of the pics I saw of the set he had a black beard so that could be a reason for buying it.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Etzel replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Actual figs! We will also get a clown is I recall correctly. I guess a large part of my LEGO budget will be going to this when they come out in August. -
Nice work Hound Knight! The legs on the middle one and the torso on the one most to the right is good purist options. I hate to break this to you Big Cam, but Orcs never existed, so Batman couldn't of outlived them... I'm sorry professor flitwick, but I'm afraid Batman isn't real either so he couldn't have outlived anyone...

Summer 2010 - can't wait No idea
-
Thanks for kind words! The bearskin is pure LEGO, well at least Duplo
-
More pictures can be found at my Flickr This is my largest MOC so far, and my first ship. I hope you like it and thanks for watching! /Etzel
-
I'm afraid not, I only saw it myself for a couple of seconds. But I suppose we don't have to wait too long before we will be able to see some pictures on the internet.
-
On the picture I've seen it's not really a dungeon but it still looks like a good cheap set with excellent minifigs. And this piece makes a return, in a new lovely colour
-
Pretty much like what Peppermint_M said. "When it just clicks!" The moment when you realise exactly how you must do, and which piece you must use to make it the way you want. That's the moment you go: - Eureka! I have found it!
-
Yeah, these news have been known for a while but since they are going to be Duplo I guess not so many AFOLs have been interested in discussing it.
-
Wow, very nice! The colours you have chosen is perfect, I really like them. I like the owls and the parasols too, they give personality to the MOC. It's nice that you have added details that the original Café Corner didn't have, like the fire escape. Great work Badsneaker, please show us more when you have finished your red one, I'm really interested in how they would look together!
