That's a great mosaic, ISC! As all mosaics it looks best from distance so I stood as far away from the computer as I could in my tiny apartment (maybe 4 meters ). Great work with the colours and I like the mix of transparent and regular bricks in the text Did you use some kind of software to make this or was it a free-hand work? Anyway it's very nice

You're absolutely right, Cwetqo. Petra Majdic's bronze medal was a heroic achievement (even if I'm a little disappointed that she beat Anna Olsson from Sweden in the finish ). But I could celebrate yesterday when Anja Paerson took the bronze in women's alpine super combined, despite the big crash she had in the downhill race the day before, a bronze that felt like it was worth like a gold And I agree that the functionary work at the olympics has been really bad, they seems to cut back on safety all the time and make stupid mistakes of top of that. I just watched a summary from the Canada - Switzerland game, really great play by the Swiss and especially from their golie Hiller. Nice to see that the Canadiens gets some good competition so they doesn't get too cocky

And here is one that goes by another counting (that I prefer ): http://winterolympics.external.bbc.co.uk/m...ings/index.html

Sweden got it's second gold medal about one hour ago, Björn Ferry in the men's biathlon pursuit! Now we are before Canada in the medal standings EDIT: Hm, not anymore. Well, it was fun for a little while

Canada is fifth at the moment, Switzerland is in the lead with 3 gold medals.

YES! Gold for Sweden! Charlotte Kalla in women's 10 km cross country skiing. Now I will have to make a little vignette for her too

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Etzel replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
No, you're the first to post that info, thanks! Some of the figs are clearly preliminary in that picture (the mexican and ringleader for example) but I really like the look of almost all of them. The surfer is really good -
Looks like a new window piece in this picture (the tower): Clicky!

Hehe, here's another one that keeps updating the FBTB photostream

I watched the Nordic Combined race, it was really exciting! Very strong finish by the French guy Still no medal for Sweden But we got a chance in a couple of hours with Jesper Björnlund in the men's mogul final. Fingers crossed (or "holding thumbs" like we say in Sweden )

Yeah, I kind of agree about the colour. I really like dark orange and would like to get more of it. The new colour doesn't look bad or anything but I think it's kind of unnecessary Tan and dark tan would have worked good too I think. I would rather have seen a colour that is suited for bricks (not LEGO bricks, the kind you build real houses with ), that's something that would be extremely useful. But anyway, the sets looks great and I will probably like the new colour better when I've got some of it myself.

50-50 between sets and BrickLink. I would like to concentrate more on BL but TLG is making too many great sets nowadays

USA got 4 medals actually : Silver and bronze in short track and gold and bronze in mogul

What are some way to make use of 2x width bricks?
Etzel replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If the colours aren't right I tend to use them as support and fillers when I'm building MOCs with elevation and hight differences. If the colours are good for landscaping I use them for that. For example I used almost all my red, yellow and black 2x bricks inside this MOC and used my dark grey, green and brown ones on the outside. -
Thanks for the pictures! Some of these sets are definitely interesting but some are really weak I think. I know this is still preliminary but Freeing Dobby is really a big step back from it's precursor On the other hand I really looking forward to The Burrow, Hagrid's Hut and Hogwarts, all looks like great part packs with good minifigs.

Yeah, the Winter Olympics! I like the Winter games more than the Summer ones, maybe that's because Sweden is better at the winter sports. I'm definitely looking forward to watch a lot of TV the coming weeks (to bad most of the games is in the middle of the night though, didn't watch the opening ceremony because of that. It starded 03:00 here ). Big gold medal chance for Sweden tonight (morning for Canada?) in the Biathlon sprint with Helena Jonsson. I actually made a small MOC of her, I will upload it soon. Edit: Here it is: Hard to get the position right.

You're giving us a package of milk worth 10 kr? Well, milk is good so why not

This one (will come in the biggest Atlantis set this summer): Not entirely historical correct but better than nothing

Power miners... ending!?
Etzel replied to Omicron Squad Leader's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, I'm not surprised to se Power Miners end either but I don't think the reason for that is low popularity. Sure, PM might not have a huge fanbase from the AFOLs but I do belive that the theme is highly popular among kids. PM was awarded "toy of the year 2009" here in Sweden and I'm pretty sure I've read something from TLG saying that the theme was a much bigger success than they had planned. So I wouldn't say that low popularity and not making money is the reasons for cancelling Power Miners. The real reason is something that already has been mentioned in this topic, themes like this don't last long. 1-3 years is what they get and it's been like that for a long time. There are just a few long-lasting themes by LEGO like City and Star Wars. Themes come and themes goes, some are revived and some are for ever dead. Power Miners is probably one of the themes I will miss the least but for those who like it I suppose now is a good time to stock up on the sets. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Etzel replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Odd - why are there only 15 spots? Nevermind - I thought this related to the collectible minifigs. Because it's not supposed be for these collectible minifigs but for these ones (which comes in package of 5): clicky
