  1. Well, I checked some just quickly at Bricklink and don't think they are very rare or valuable. It seems most of them are available in decent numbers on BL but there might be some that are special, I didn't check that much. Most of the sets are made with very basic parts and the minifigs are also very basic.
  2. Or, put links to the posts with chapters and lessons to the first post in the topic. That way it would be easy to find without clogging the forum with a lot of topic
  3. No, this year it Star Wars who gets an advent calender, and of course City as usual. I think TLG tries to alternate between the themes with the calenders, maybe we will see one next year (if Kingdoms still exists) or maybe it will be something completely different like Ninjago.
  4. Very interesting! I will follow this closely and hopefully pick up some ideas. Great initiative, Derfel Cardarn!
  5. I almost missed this (stupid summer hiatus of mine). Thanks Teddy for bumping the topic ;) Marvelous castle blueandwhite! That is a huge project you've been working on, I would love to try something like that myself but a number of factors makes that very unlikely to happen. I really admire the patience that it must have taken to work on such a big scale MOC. I often feel the need to finish my MOCs as fast as possible so I can take them down and start something new . I just sat and went through the Flickr album for at least half an hour, so many great details! I really look forward to see your take on an expansion on this project with a village and tourney ground etc. Good luck!
  6. Agreed, very clever! I think you've made a nice landscape too, but I would recommend some elevation to make it a bit more interesting. Good job on these female heroes you got going, looking forward to your next one.
  7. It's a nice technique you got there, but the best is your tip about the use of the old window piece. I'll have to find one of those now for later use.
  8. Love it! I really think they have a great design to the set here which will look good on the collectors shelves and still managed to get it filled with interesting pieces that will be useful for MOCers. The nod to the Black Falcons are great and I actually prefer this design of the coat of arms over the old which didn't look much as a falcon but mroe like a pigeon. 3 (I hope) new BF shields would be a great start to a rebirth of my favourite classic castle faction! The new green dressed lady is wonderful as well, a must have. Since I haven't got the 7188 King's Carriage Ambush I'm happy to be able to get the king in his new fashion as well. The wait for January is on! No, that is an already existing torso: available in 3 sets.
  9. Thanks for the great review, dr_spock! This is an awesome set, no doubt! I really want this one and was close to order it the other day but the high shipping cost from S@H prevented me. I will wait some time and see if I'll be able to get it for a better price somewhere else, but if I can't I guess I'll just have to pay up. Because I really don't want to miss out on this set
  10. A belated but big thank you from me! I've been on a mini-vacation to the land of the bricks (Denmark) over the weekend which was very fun. Unfortunately without LEGO but I'm sure I'll make up for that soon.
  11. What is that orange part? I saw it was in the inventory list photo you provided too, Eiker, but I couldn't make out what it was.
  12. Oh, nice with official Hi-res pictures. They really look well designed considered the scale. The small scale should also give us many small useful parts. I'll look forward to see a part list. As I said in the other topic, I can understand why it's an VIP exclusive since it would be hard to sell this set to anyone except those who has already found the salvation of the brick.
  13. VIP exclusive, eh? I hope that means a cheap price too. Looks like a fun set but I can understand why it is a VIP exclusive, it would have been hard to sell it to regular customers. Only really nerdy nerds like us AFOLs would by a model of a LEGO model. Thanks to the Norwegian team for the report oh, another picture: http://twitpic.com/6q000m
  14. In North America that is. We in the other parts of the world will have to wait some more days it seems (27th September).
  15. Cool review Izzy! Didn't know about these Desk Pals before, but I can't say I'm sorry for that. It really isn't one of LEGO's best merchandise product and I wouldn't buy it even for $9, $99 is just horrible wrong. Honestly I think it looks rather awful. But to get it for free? Well, sure I would take it. It's a LEGO product after all. (although it would probably be kept in some box out of sight...)
  16. The guard has been knocked down and the queens jewellery has been stolen! Can the clever detective find the thief with help of his power of deduction?
  17. Outside the great doors to the Heroica Hall a man paused for a second. He knew was about to begin a new chapter of his life and it had not been an easy decision. At his age adventures and quest didn't excite him as much as they used to do. The decision to join Heroica was a necessary step on the way to his goal. A goal that would require long time of training and full-hearted devotion. To start all over again as a novice was not a pleasant thought to the man but he had no choice. He rubbed his left shoulder in a try to relieve the constant pain and then pushed the door open and entered. 18. Happy birthday, I Scream Clone! Those mutated frogs(?) are awesome! Have a great day night, I guess, and remember that every year bring new experiences and more time to build.
  19. That depends. Some of the early boxes were reported to only have 2 Scientists, but other boxes had 4 of them.
  20. I got a S5 box today that I'm sharing with a friend and had a good time feeling through all of them. My favourite is absolutely the Gladiator, fantastic helmet and the prints on his torso, arm and legs are great too. I'm also really happy about the Cavewoman, finally this guy can get some company Concerning dwarves, I can't really understand the big hype. He is too similar to the Fantasy Era dwarves for me to want more then one. The Royal Guard on the other hand I want several of, thank you TLG for putting 5 of them in the box.
  21. The number of printed dresses has really exploded the latest years. Good job collecting them all Sandy! I currently own 19 of them, and have 2 on the way (The new peasant woman and the Cleopatra minifig from S5). The only ones left then are Narcissa, Pr. Sprout and Pr. Trelawney. I will probably pick up Narcissa since she is quite cheap ( ) and has a very useful dress, but I'm not sure about Sprout. And as Haltiamieli poited out, Trelawney is unfortunately out of the question because of the price.
  22. Now I'm home too. I had some extra days after the event to explore some other parts of England (including Oxford and Stonehenge). Thanks for a great time last week, it was really nice to meet all the old and new friends And yes, Holodoc is right:
  23. Awesome, thanks for the report! Can't wait for all the fun to begin, but I first I need to do a few last touches on my paper and send it in. See you all on Thursday evening!
  24. Not many days left now! I'll arrive a day later then most of the rest, on Thursday evening. I haven't found out how to get from the airport to the hotel yet but I'm sure that will work out. Looking forward to meet you all, both old and new friends!
  25. I saw the fourth movie on the cinema a couple of hours ago and I find it very amusing how the sets are not so accurate to the scenes they are supposed to represent. I remember the same happened with the first IJ4 sets too. Especially 4192 looks a bit strange, but now after that I've watched the movie I could see myself buying it anyway, if only to get Barbosa's outfit.
