  1. It is a beautiful garden MOC. The accompanying story was well written as well; the 'women in black' has me curious.
  2. Lol. This was worth the wait for you to get it finally posted.
  3. Nice scene. The paper birch in fall foliage is a nice touch; it gives it a nice somber mood.
  4. That's fine. As long as the end result is that he gets the monthly yield. Thanks
  5. Congratulations Oleon! I was curious who would manage it first.
  6. It should have been transferred on Nov 29 or 30th by my recollection.
  7. Hi Phred It looks the the small cultural build Shrine of Poseidon, which was the grand prize for my mini-challenge last month, did not get successfully transferred to the winner Nivremis. Did that got lost in the bustle, or should I redo the transfer form? -Kwatchi
  8. Beautiful fort Mike. The irregular tiling on the gun platform was a nice touch.
  9. Well, I am without a ship atm so I don't think you'll see me out on the water any time soon. Bloody Mardier double-crosed me; that's my thing! Nice to see I'm somewhat infamous at least. Feel free to put a bounty on my rowboat.
  10. I see you've discovered the joys of building in Stormhaven too, Ayrlego. Mike S' overall artistic vision for his colony is the best in BoBS and your contribution is melds with that. And I find your build's colour and ordered planking invokes a sense of cane weave/wicker which I feel is perfect for this. A hearty well done from me.
  11. Sabre Island (6265) was my first pirate set I owned, and this MOC put me in a nostalgic mood. Very nice build.
  12. Well, count me in as interested to see where your story goes. :) It's a nice little interior scene as well.
  13. I think it is a Nexo-Admiral. Btw, did you ever announce what the Horse Rearing Coat of arms was for?
  14. Thanks for the kind replies all. My Captain hadn't 'kablammed' anyone in months, so it felt really good to get back his original ways. Garmadon, after reading your comment on colouring I can completely see your point. I think the light tan is what is causing the worst of the dichomity between the planks. Before I had posed the minifgs the building was so bland just sitting on my table that it wasn't as noticeable, but now that I look at pics of the finished project I can't un-see it. Thanks for that note.
  15. That is a fun little tavern brawl scene, but a better supporting story. Can't wait until the next chapter.
  16. Congratulations are in order to you three. This is a lovely vinyard you've created. I had toyed with the idea of doing one myself (not on this grand scale of course), so thanks for giving me a perfect reference.
  17. This thread could really use some love, so I am going to start announcing my MOCs here and suggest other SeaRat do the same. A new residence has been built in Charlatan Bay.
  18. Meanwhile, in Charlatan Bay... Senor, you cannot possibly be serious. My patron, the brave Count Alejandro Modesta Santa Maria Di Monae, is husband to a cousin of true ruler of Eslandola, King Ferdinand Augusto the VIII! These accommodation you have offered the Count and Countess are an affront to their royal dignity and are unfit for even his lowliest servant. The fact that a degenerate, arch-blasphemer such as yourself would even attempt such a incredulous act is an insult that cannot be born. Captain Meloche, consider your self challenged! And let it be known Senor that you face duelist of legendary skill who has vangui... As I was telling you before Count DiMonae, I am afraid that the laws of this colony do not permit you to take residence in Hightown, as you're not be believers in the true faith. As such, I have found the best residence in Lowtown for you to spend your exile in as my guest. That letter of transit in your brave secretary's pocket will permit both you and your household free access to the top of the bluff, but you must reside down here 'tween sundown and sun-up. Those are my terms for granting you refuge. Yo..uu.rrr Grace is too kind to us and we glady accept your charity in this matter. And when King Ferdinand is rightly put back on his throne, I promise that his majesty will know of your generosity. Yes. yes. As you were then. I have business elsewhere. But wait, Senor Bishop. Our fleeing our traitorous revolutionary countrymen was but one part of the reason for our coming to your island. Word has spread of your growing armed strength and I wish to hire your army in order to aid in restoring our eminent King to his rightful place. "Word" has it that I have an army does it now? Well, I am afraid that while it is true the Ashen Guard answer to me, they are not available for your venture at the moment. But I beseech you sir! There is a terrible need to right the wrong in my beloved Eslandola and your recompense will be substantial. Why cannot you help us? Well I guess that "word" hadn't heard the full truth as yet, but I will enlighten your poor lost souls as you find me in a good mood. Didn't you know? I have been sailing under the marque of Mardier these last few months. But don't go off spreading spurious rumours about me; it is supposed to be a secret. ===== A few things to get to here: 1) This represents my entry in category III of KaiRNg mini-challenge 2) This build will be licensed as a small residence in Charlatan Bay and also answers the question of the mysterious letter Meloche got last month. 3) Consider this official notice that Charlatan Bay is opening up its arms (and trade) to Eslandolan Royalists from this point on. And if any ESL builder wants do a collaborative storyline to that effect, feel free to PM me. 4) Lastly, this is my 4th Lowtown build in the last two months. It has been fun exploring "less than pristine" building, and this represents both a shout out to Sir Stig Lucky Charms Gang MOC (which I saw and was inspired to try to emulate in my way) and a culmination of the building techniques I have been trying out. I'm still not where I want to be yet, but it's time to move on to try something new. So my next few builds should be moving up to Hightown, including what I have tentatively titled 'Letters of Transit". An usused photograph:
  19. WOW! This was one heck of a start in BoBS. Great build, great photography, and great story. I am going to have to find some time to stare at these pics some more.
  20. I have to agree, the piano is a lovely little build just by itself. The whole scene is also well put together.
  21. This a fun little scene, if a little strange. The hanging meat is a great touch and that half circle window has wondering how you managed it.. And I suppose chicken does taste like Soylent Green.
  22. THE WINNER HAS BEEN CHOSEN! Yes, we don't waste time in Charlatan Bay. After careful consideration (in those free moments on Sunday when our kids weren't demanding our attention), the judges panel composed of Gulagurag, my non-EB member AFOL Brother-in-Law (who we'll call JonnyNostalgia), and yours truly have concluded that a snifter of port is better than a snifter of brandy while sitting in a chaise in front of the fireplace discussing greek philosophy and colonial politics. We also voted on some figbarf MOCs. So without further ado, I present you with the "Queenpin" of Charlatan Bay's criminal underworld: THE MISTRESS Congratulations nivremis! The voting broke down as follows: MINIFIG: 1. Safe-House Gang - The Architect 2. The Painted Ladies of Charlatan Bay - nivremis 3. TIE - Captain Old Beard Caliquot's gang - Faladrin & The Drifters - KaiNRG STORY: 1. The Painted Ladies of Charlatan Bay - nivremis 2. Lucky Charms Gang - Sir Stig 3. The Firebirds - Elostirion Three-way tie for 4th. This was a close contest. PRESENTATION: 1. Lucky Charms Gang - Sir Stig 2. Mafia of Charlatan Bay - SilentWolf 3. The Painted Ladies of Charlatan Bay - nivremis OVERALL: 1. The Painted Ladies of Charlatan Bay - nivremis 2. Lucky Charms Gang - Sir Stig 3. Safe-House Gang - The Architect Thank you all for participating and I hope you all enjoyed it. Your prizes will be distributed as soon as I find the right form, and I look forward to running another one of these some time next year.
  23. That's a real nice fort scene Phred. It has a nice rough-edged look to it. I'm curious why it isn't being manned by bluecoats, though I assume your upcoming colony will have a story-line explaining that.
