Axle Collection Thread

@Imanol BB if I can help you with portal axle hubs using gears 16 and 8, please read my post (and if you want other posts in this topic dealing with my Unimog U423) -
[WIP] CLAAS Challenger 95E
1gor replied to JLiu15's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I understand. One things are our wishes and another things are possibilities... When the time is right you will make you decision. Take my case; I have made several different Unimog U423 chassis (1:12, 1:14.5, 1:15, 1:16, 1:17.5 and 1:18) and the truth is always somewhere in the middle ? ...so everything is compromise. -

Thank for fast answer. Set looks great. I have to ask you for one favour - could you please add double wheels at the front and then post image with that solution. Thanks @M_longer -
42079 - Heavy Duty Forklift
1gor replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Every thing has good and bad side, it is up to us which side we prefer. Personally 42070 is waaaaay to expensive here in Croatia, but after I have 42077 set I'm fan of dark azure color... Thanks Marek ( @M_longer ) for images, but I have one question because I have downloaded parts list image in low resolution; above part https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=87408&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 Is there black axle 3 with stop or something else; I could not see it clear enough. As I already said forklift has some nice simple solutions ? -

I use both 5 X 7 and 11 X 5 frames on my models chassis because they give me additional stiffness -

1gor replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Typical example is 42070 set; the way LEGO designers made rear chassis part gave me idea how to solve stiffness problem on my MOC Unimog chassis (sorry for offtopic), so certainly 42079 set will provide us with some useful ideas. -

For more it is not such problem...Usually I buy sets for parts but sometimes I keep sets built like Arocs or Unimog -

I agree with you on that ? (That is the reason I bought 42075 and 42077 set) -

1gor replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@M_longer thanks for parts list. It is nice set with all major functionalities of real forklift. The fact that this set uses small amount of gears speaks for efficient design ? -

Forgot to mention that I like the way you made chassis stiffer with frames ? (It is technique that I also prefer so chassis remains stiff and thin at the same time) -

Try using fresh bananas and not those with leopard sample (and pumped with sugar) At least Terrier (Westin highland) has no color vomit and looks perfect (as Terriers are). Crane is impressive and huge. Thank you very much for all those pictures @Ctan- 1,224 replies
