IIRC, the blue mech is only available with the HQ
  2. I know there's a hollow interior, but that isn't the problem with playability. Besides making it hard to fit in, the point about having a skeleton like that is to provide strength and support, meaning it must stay in one piece. The problem this provides is that while an interior space may be available, there will be little to no access to it. What's the point of an interior if you need to dismantle the ship to see it? I mean don't think I haven't thought about building ships this way before ;-) well you could easily get access to an interior if you'd attatch the outside plates with blue pins to the technic bricks or you could also use tiles and 1x1 plates here and there... I just don't think the creator had any intent to build a ship like that Neither do I, however attaching single plates with technic pins would not only limit the possibilities for outward appearance, but also provide only limited viewing of the inside. Besides, that would make for pretty thin walls

  4. It's very interesting (in a good way!). I like the design, just one thing I'm curious about, is the gray supposed to be metal, stone, or painted wood?
  5. I believe my pieces were as they were supposed to be
  6. Hi, nice selection, but I have a question. Have all your posts been to advertise your e-bay and bricklink stores? Maybe if you got to know people better around here, you might get better results?
  7. If I'm not mistaken, I once saw a tutorial out there on how to do it with no damage to the fig. yep, you just pull out the pin. normally, that only leaves a hole in the helmet... Yeah, but I remember the guy had an interesting method where he held it with his foot...or something, so that even the head could be used, and the helmet could be filled in with sculpy. Really interesting read, if I knew where to begin looking :-P If anyone else knows where it is, feel free to post it.

  9. Pardon? Who said anything about spending 600 to 700 euro on an army? I said the only way to acquire an army is to buy sets. Again, I typed "people." There are some castle fanatics that spend way too much money on mini-fig armies, though 600 to 700 euro seems a little extreme. ;-) but that's what you're implying, isn't it? you're basically saying: 'we , the lego company, we're no longer interested in producing pure minifig packs for 10 bucks so that you people can buy 10 copies of them for a 100, giving you about 50 men. we, the lego company, are willing to create a minifig pack but you'll have to take lots of extra pieces as well, cos we'll add a tower or whatever, and it will cost you about 30 bucks. Why? because it's more profitable for us than just a minifig pack.' of course, no one is going to buy 10 copies of such a set! that's my point! that's why i seriously doubt these new viking sets we'll ever become a major sale, they're too expensive to get multiple copies, contrary to the classic minifig packs... That's exactly what happened, sne ;-) Of course we're not talking about children anymore, we're talking about AFOLs. Children never would acquire huge armies, that's what the older collectors do. And it isn't that uncommon for people to go buy ten of a set, even a large set. Just look at bricklink! They came from somewhere
  10. Even though that's probably the right way to build them, it just doesn't work for me on minifig scale. I saw this ship last night, I have to say it looked impressive from the outside, I just like having detailed interiors ;-)
  11. thats prety much what ive been stressing for some time now, Any toy company can buy the liscnece to a tv show or movie but it takes real imagination to come up with their own ideas and themes. And about the hero figs, Its not that i dont like the hero figs, Its just that i realy realy love armies to enforcs my Rule of darkness on my city minifigs. Ive got a sizeable fleet of auazone ships for my navy but now i need a new space force and lego just isnt giving me enough clones. I agree with having huge armies. I play briwars (join the ranks, www.brikwars.com) like a fanatic and bought 100 blacktron soldiers for brikwars! I use them for space MOCs as well but that is their primary purpose. Just wondering how much that set you back? e-bay is great for bulk lots of figs if you're careful, I got 15 for $3US :-P It was a mix of Blacktron I and II though, which did you buy?
  12. Or a business move so that people buy more SETS to get more cool figs or to build armies. Worked wonders with Imperial Inspection ;-) I still remember those awesome fig packs though...and their parts packs for themes...with the pitchfork...oh man
  13. 7785 Arkham Asylum
  14. That made my day :-D True, it's only 9 AM but it still made my day :-P
  15. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think this is going to happen. Batman is a good line for LEGO because there are lots of gagets and vehicles LEGO can make sets out of but Superman has super powers unlike Batman so he doesn't need technology, thus kind of boring to playwith, just one minifig to fight evil. Furthermore, there couldn't be many sets that were recognizably Superman sets that LEGO could make. Anything's possible. I pray that's intuition/opinion and not information...Superman Lego would make me cringe, but for reasons that are my own :-P
  16. I'm sure they were on sale in Belgium, but they were out awhile ago, about 7 years back in 1999. If you're really interested in the sets, I'm sure you could buy some on Bricklink.
  17. Thanks, I just came up with it as I was writing because...well, just a picture is boring :-P
  18. Those still aren't deeplinked...I guess I'll wait till the folder becomes public then
  19. Then you'll enjoy the wonders of the Ninja theme ;-)
  20. I guess I might as well upload, even though it's not that good :-/ This unnamed knight appeared at the castle of King Broli seeking a place to stay for the night. Feeling great power, the King ordered five of his best knights to attack this new knight in the middle of the...well, night. All five were slain. The King offered great amounts of gold to the knight to join his ever-growing army to help defeat the growing menace of a Necromancer at the edges of his Kingdom, but the knight refused to take a single gram, and instead fights for his own reasons. He's been a valuable asset to the kindgom, and has been the only one able to take on a walking dead on his own. Rumor has it that he wields the legendary Axe Produxi-Ater.
  21. It's really a close call. I mean unless the ship designs are going to be above and beyond anything that was made in the past, I believe ship design should be based more on historical accuracy, there's just some grand feeling to them. However just because ship designs are historical doesn't mean there can't be fantasy elements! Why not have a historical ship crewed by ghosts, or being invaded by mermaids and mermen? There's no reason that fantasy and history can't exist hand-in-hand, IMO.
  22. Most impressive, Admiral. I love the intakes on the top "wings"
  23. Come on, commander. The only time you can buy them is when the store is being closed down, changing invintory, or an overhaul of the store ;-) Even then they don't usually sell them, and you can't make requests. I'm sure you could make one yourself if you REALLY wanted, and I'm sure some people have gotten lucky, or "known people" and been able to get them, and sell them on e-bay for tens of thousands of dollars. Keep in mind they're glued though.
  24. They're at about the same price level, 2150 is just rarer seen... Sorry, I'm not really into trains (I'm more a castle/space fan), but I'm a collector at heart :-P
