Moonbase as in just floating there? I mean most of the moonbases are a series of linked containers...so how would it work? For spaceships flying outside I assume? In that case they definitely need to be larger, and the holographic idea mentioned works nicely. If nothing else, at least add a "light" to it.

I just found the thing on Bricklink. I don't know if you saw, but there's a link to the Gallery right under the picture. I'm afraid that's all I have

We have good reason to be skeptical. That was really uncalled for, legofan. It just makes you look less credible.

Nowhere near me...but as soon as I get some confirmation about the sets I might need to take a run out to a TRU to check. That ship in Airbender is a wonderful source of dark bley.
-
Where do you live?
-
No offense...but it seems rather hard to believe that a store as large as TRU would release the sets so early...especially licenses. Which sets did you pick up? Which did they have available?
-
Can you take pics to back up the claim?

Doesn't matter how big the ships are. the real deal is that Space is Big and open. and you need to see stuff far away (navigation satelite anyone?) Space Signs in Cowboy Bebop were pretty well done I thought, they were much bigger than ships themselves, and were mostly made of bright holograms. Maybe you could do something with transparent bricks? Do you really mean Space Street Signs? They look to me like Cloud City Street Signs. For hovercars. Maybe that's what you mean't, it seems to fit your design better. If you want totally Space Signs, with no atmosphere or hovercar stuff, then I'd probably change them to have the writing visible from both sides, and have different street names pointing in different crazy directions (kinda like a real life street corner sign, except pointing Up, Down, left, right, etc since Space is 3d and you could fly all kinds of different ways) Yeah, you got what I meant. If it's atmospheric they're fine (but still a bit small), but for space it would need to be pretty large. I like the idea of transparent bricks for holograms!

You should probably make them much bigger. I mean when you're in space...just the vehicles would tend to be bigger. Use bricks to make the actual letters and signs as well.

V-W-4A Was this ever shown here completed? Mighty impressive Gallery

there's no "nice" way to get the droid's head on 3PO's body, except getting a tan 1x1x1 cylinder, putting that 1x1x1/3 clip on top, and attaching the head to that. It'll look ugly, but it might be the only way

Well, it did sound a bit egotistical, but I don't think anyone from Eurobricks would have left those messages. This is a nice little community (aside of those recent trolls...), and I doubt it would have been done that way. Also, the people left their names...I'm pretty sure we'd know who said that anyway if they were from here. No need to apologize to us or anyone though. Hell, sometimes I wish I had a lot more self confidance ;-)

4888 Ocean Odyssey: Adventurer Fit
Starwars4J replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It would need to be three or four times the scale to even come close to being minifig scale though... -
Ah, sorry :-$ If they can't do it, then nothing can.

As you can see by my avatar I'm a castle enthusiast. I'm currently undertaking a rather large MOC, actually. I'm building a keep. Currently I've finished only two floors out of 4 main floors, a small two-story stable, and a 4-story watch tower on top. So it might be awhile before...I can post it. I'm actually rather excited about it though, I'm afraid it's taking so long because I'm in college, so I don't have an enormous amount of time to devote to it, added to the fact that I'm putting a great deal of detail into it. Hopefully it'll be done by the end of the year. And after that I hope to make a small landscape to rest it on.

Possibly 2x2x3 slopes turned sideways would give the right angle. They're also rather common

That's just how he got it to "thin" in the middle. I guess he figured it was the best way to go. Honestly, I think it was too.
-
Yes thank you :D Huh? You quoted yourself and said yes? :-P

Welcome back! I saw you post, and I wondered if I just missed when you came back :-$ Glad to hear everything worked out

Sure, no problem! I actually meant the support for the wings too. Otherwise I love it! I'm so in love with that color scheme... *wub*
-
I LOVE the color scheme *y* Maybe work the wings to be a little less flimsy, and as for the cockpit, did you use it just because it was also B-wing? Maybe if it isn't working just choose a different screen?

Lego? Inspiring violence? That's crazytalk! *goes to equip two of his thugs with Official Lego tommyguns*
-
I was going to. Only problem is time (like, not enough of it). I think it'd be fairly easy to do. Only thing is, bodies with Gi's on them. I think just using this. with white legs, and hips of various colors for belts would work well enough. You could just ignore the belt that's on now...

Very interesting. I love the shape, and the way the bolts are shown. Are those "windows" actually mirror stickers?

That makes me want to cry :'-(
