Hi and welcome to eurobricks! I'm also a huge train fan! So LEGO was going into its Dark Ages? This is a very flexible interpretation! But I think there is a bit of truth in your comment. I didn't like the sets at the end of the 90s. The beginning of the 90s was still great for me. I started with trains when the 9V stuff was introduced. Did you sell a single set on eBay or did all sets, by building them up, become so dear to you that you haven't sold anything?

Wow, you've put in some exquisite details like the WC! I think it looks very good in combination with CC and MS. I don't care so much about the yellow and tan colour scheme. I don't find it looks bad. I mean in real life it has often been this way: a post office moved into the earth floor of a big house. Then yellow was also used for that floor since it is simply the colour the post uses. So why should the floor above it not be tan?

Welcome to our community! Don't hesitate to ask any questions (as long as they are brick-related).

Hi and welcome! What's your user name on brickset? The same as you use here? I'd just be interested in your brickset reviews if you have posted some. On brickset I can be found under the same user name as here.

I'm also of dunamis opion. Just open one set and keep one MISB; but dunamis' suggestion that you keep those sets that are going to reach a high price in the near future is also good! Take that into account as well. Would be a shame if you got rid of them too early. Just wait till you get some more money for them.

I don't have the financial means to buy multiple sets. If I had, I would buy two sets of those I especially like. I would keep one set in MISB condition and build up the other one. There are only very few sets I have more than once. One is the Santa Fe engine 10020, which I have four times. I built up three; one of them is a limited edition engine. All three are still assembled, but one of them will be transformed into a B-unit. This is a plan I've had for a long time, but I still don't have all necessary parts. I just want to sacrifice one engine for the B-unit only. All the other bricks needed for the B-unit I buy from bricklink. The fourth santa fe engine (limited edition) I keep in MISB condition. Since I'm not yet moccing (also due to financial reasons), I don't buy sets to part them out. I wouldn't even do so if I had enough money. I just buy the bricks from bricklink, LEGO PaB or eBay.

A fitting crew for your splendid engine! I didn't know those were Indy torsos if you hadn't mentioned it. I'm not into Indiana Jones. But it seems you have found a good use for them. And I love the non-transparent look of your engine!

This is a brilliant train station! One more item for your story line, WW ghosts. I also find your use of orange bricks awesome. You don't see orange bricks in many creations. They look quite good with your MOC.

Did you really have to rub that in my face?! I'm still writing on my thesis! Congrats! Yes, sleep a bit before you make a decision. When someone has completed university, I think they all deserve a bit of sleep and time in which they can switch off their brains completely. I must still keep my brain going! But I'm a bit confused. You said you did a BSc (honours) course, but you also mentioned your "dissertation". In my country a dissertation is a paper to obtain a doctor's degree.

I like all of them. Some nice details and good colour combinantions. A supermarket would be good for my minifigs. Don't have one. How much are the buildings actually?

Hmmm... where did you get all those transparent bricks from? I especially like that transparent 9V motor! Just kidding. Looks like it's a beautiful steam engine you've built! Can't wait to see the whole thing better!

Happy birthday to all of you, guys! I hope you have fun with lots of bricky presents!

A terrible blow to an adult fan of lego?

You definitely did not insult him. Maybe he felt insulted, but only because he misinterpreted your comment. I can remember that I was once talking to a friend. I don't know what our topic was back then, but it was unimportant and nonsense anyway. Usual talk among friends. So we were talking and smiling. At one point of the conversation I said "...like a wood gnome". It was exactly then when, coincidentally, an older man with a white, long beard was passing by. Afterwards my friend told me that man had looked in an angry way just when I had said "...like a wood gnome". So he must have felt addressed, but I didn't mean him. We were talking about something totally different and not about him. So I seem to have offended a person without wanting to. A pure misunderstanding. Such things simply happen, unfortunately. No need to sleep badly because of that. -
Wow, really great work! Are my eyes deceiving me or did you make the hull with lots of ordinary pieces? I always ask myself how to make MOCs look great with ordinary pieces, but your creation does look great! Nice colour combination too! High time for the soldiers to chase some mean pirates with this beauty of the oceans! The pirates will be rooted to the spot when they see how big it is!

I especially like the red and grey house. I already liked this colour combination with train engine shed 10027. For this house it's obviously excellent as well. I'm eager to see the complete version of that building. Moccing on!

I love seeing exquistie MOCs and I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your creations! Welcome to eurobricks!

Welcome on board of this bricky ship!
-
Wow, a wonderful oil tanker! It even comes with a helicopter landing area and a crane! And I particularly like this information on the tanker: no smoking! *lol*
-
A real beauty! I also believe that this ship looks like one of those classic sets... but simply much bigger, of course.

Welcome! I''m having a déjà-vu! I think I've already had a look at your brickshelf folder! Nice pictures!

Oh, another train and town fan! Like myself! Welcome to our community! I'll have a look at your collection registered at brickset.com as soon as possible. I'm quite curious to see your collection. My set count has not crossed 200 yet.
