Hi and welcome to eurobricks!
-
This is a great topic indeed! My member number is 2562. Unfortnately, there is no set which corresponds to that number. However, those numbers can be found in exactly the same sequence in set 4202562, which is the LEGO football. This is a nice coincidence since the European soccer championship 2008 is taking place in Austria and Switzerland, and I am Austrian!

Hi and welcome to our creative community!

You've got an extremely nice table layout! Though I have many train sets, I don't have a lot of buildings. As the others have said, adding a train would be cool, but I can understand your place problem perfectly. You also have that big yellow crane and LEGO's newest port 7994. They look absolutely fantastic, but I don't like them in the middle of a town with buildings being much smaller then them. The crane and the ship of set 7994 stick out too much. No real criticism intended though. If I was given those two sets as a present, I'd put them in my layout nevertheless.

Welcome to eurobricks, Yedi!

Welcome to eurobricks, not-so-new-member! I'm also studying at university. I can only occupy myself with my LEGO collection on the weekend when I'm with my parents.

The flags point forwards because the wind blows into the sails... though "the way the wind blows" is also a good response. But this would mean that sometimes the ship won't go forward since there is no wind blowing into the sails. How does this work in real life? No hobby sailors among us? I suppose you must steer a ship with sails into the wind so that it blows into the sails.

Exactly, I meant motors when I wrote that some 9V/12V stuff can be expensive. I bought 4512 for 120€; it was MISB. And I got 4511 at Christmas. It was bought by my parents, brother and sister for 99€. It was brand new as well. But the older a set, the dearer it is. Even used 12V train sets reach high prices on eBay. Did you buy your 4511 and 4512 as used items or were they new?

Younger siblings and LEGO?
legotrainfan replied to DarkYamiDragon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My sister is 23 and my brother 18, and they both believe I'm crazy to have LEGO as a hobby. Anyway, they don't touch my stuff; they are too old to scatter my bricks everywhere. I thought I had a bit of an impact on my brother but that was half a year ago. I ordered some bricks on bricklink and he wanted me to buy some more bricks, which I did because he paid for them. We built a big castle with the bricks we had bought. But since he started having his friends around, he stopped building with LEGO completely, and I had to remove all LEGO bricks and sets from his room. Seems it's to embarrasing for him to have his friends around and them seeing LEGO in his room. -
Very impressive building! You must have used lots of bricks to build it, but it looks a bit bare for my taste. You can introduce yourself in the following part of the forum: just click here. By the way, welcome to eurobricks!

Hi and welcome! I'm also not a great moccer. I think my moccing skills are not very good, but my main problem is: I don't have enough bricks to moc.

Oh my goodness! These layouts are amazingly big! How big is your attic in square metres? If you build these layouts, is there still enough room for additional LEGO? So you have lots of 12V and 9V rail material. Isn't it difficult to have two different systems? I'd also love to have 9V and 12V trains, but the production of 9V sets has ended, so it's already getting expensive to buy material for that system. The production of 12V sets ended in 1990. Must be quite expensive to get material for a layout expansion for the 12V system.

Pretty astonishing how you connect all those small parts with each other! Quite ingenious! Nice little set, but isn't it fragile?

Hi Christine! Welcome to eurobricks! I just want to tell you that you're not the only one who is suffering from a fracture. I've got a fracture in my hand, but little plastic bricks aren't heavy, fortunately!

Nice collection! How does it come your collection is so clean? Is there no dust in your attic? ...and I can see a nice train and town layout on the floor!

I hope your girlfriend's grandmother is alright! Sorry to hear you won't get the Duplo collection anymore since it is totally destroyed. I hope that everyone who was in the house is alright.

Oh, mothers are often that way! I'm 26 and my mother thinks that I'm too old for LEGO. She thinks I'm still a big child. In my teens I also tried to make my brother wish LEGO for Christmas instead of Playmobil. Well, he never wished what I wanted him to wish. He preferred Playmobil all the time. Seems that you are more successful with your brother. By the way, welcome to eurobricks!

I'd like to see some of your MOC modular houses. Welcome to eurobricks!

Soooo i accidently orded a replacement piece
legotrainfan replied to Darth_Legois's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sinner, I share your opinion on that matter. Darth_Legois_619, just tell them you made a mistake by e-mail. I'm pretty sure you can keep the legs anyway. I can remember that I once ordered some parts via phone call. Among the order, there were some 1x1 tiles; they sent me one tile too many and I informed them about that matter. Laugh now if you want, me writing an e-mail to them just because of one little tile, but it's the correct thing to do. Well, I could keep the additional tile and didn't have to pay for it. -
Favourite Cheese (dont hide fellow EBers)
legotrainfan replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Community
I belong to those of you who prefer molten cheese. I don't like that much in any other forum. If it's molten, I like it a lot. -
It is beyond stupidity to call a child Lego. That child is punished for eternity. Never ever would I use a brand as a name. I mean just use other examples: would you call your child Playmobil? Or Volkswagen? This is absurd, really!

Welcome! You will notice that there're some university students around here. You're not the only one who is studying psychology.

Bender is the Futurama character I also like most! He's hilarious and I love his sarcasm... by the way, welcome to eurobricks!

Hi and welcome to our community! I'm not a MOC expert either. I simply enjoy following instructions and building simply things. But you never know: your buidling skills can always become better.

Corner Store, a new cafe-corner compatible building
legotrainfan replied to Ralph_S's topic in LEGO Town
Your work is brilliant, fantastic, and all the other positive adjectives you can find in a dictionary! I wish I had your building skills... and your quantity of bricks! Keep on building! I'm looking forward to seeing your next creation!
