Happy birthday, guys! I hope it'll be raining bricks for you!

Very nice LDD MOC! I also like the tiny little details. Apart from that, I also like the colour scheme. One colour for one building. Good colour choice! As usual for LDD creations it's quite pricey. But it resembles one of the classic town sets much.

Hi Dave'! That was a very detailed description about your LEGO passion! Welcome to eurobricks! Be happy that you were the youngest of three! I'm the oldest of three and I didn't have much LEGO at my disposal for some years. I always accompanied my mum when she visited one of her cousins. She has three sons and they had an amazing collection of space sets. So when I was 4 or 5 I enjoyed playing with their sets for hours!

I'd take market street 10190. I'd have preferred CC or GG but since there is a limit of 100 dollars this is the only one of those three in the demanded price category.

Welcome to our community! I'd love to have tons of grey bricks for MOCs.

I'm not the type of persons who keeps people from buying sets produced by clone brands. If someone really likes buying a clone brand set, they should do. And I can understand that people buy clone brand pirate sets since LEGO have not produced pirate sets for a while, so it is their fault when people spend money on clone brands. However, the link really made me furious. I had a look at the sets and only the logo has been changed. LEGO products were copied 1:1 without making any changes to cloak their origin. That's going too far!

I know what you mean. I don't have that 2x2 tile with the red cross on it for my ambulance car. Also lost long ago. I was very young when I got it, just 4 or 5.

I'll ask them but I think it's gonna be in vain anyway. Normally they tend to replace parts that have production errors for free, but old gray train wheels aren't produced any more. Well, three of my four waggons have that problem. One of my 3 Santa Fe engines has this problem as well. It is a limited edition locomotive. Since the limited edition version was produced before the ordinary one, I think they found out the error after a while and corrected it so that newer sets have correctly working wheels. I used my 8 old gray replacement wheels, which I bought from bricklink a while back, for 2 waggons. I won't use the other waggon that has still that problem due to lack of wheels. Since the engine is motorised, I could use the two remaining wheels of the non-limited edition Santa Fe engine for the also motorised limited edition version. Problem solved with the wheels I had at my disposal. Thanks again for your answer.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I bought those waggons brand new. It mainly affects two 10022 waggons, though I believe that one 10025 waggon is also slightly affected. I haven't checked the wheels of the Santa Fe engines yet. I'll do that tomorrow.

I watched my two Santa Fe Super Chief engines doing their job of pulling 4 waggons, but everything was a bit slow. I found out that the wheels of two waggons would not rotate as smoothly and quickly as they should when being pushed by my thumb. When I push the waggons on a longer piece of straight track, they stop more quickly than they should. There is definitely no friction added by the studs of the upside down construction. I substituted those bricks with tiles. There are no bigger dust particles having gatherd where the metallic axle is. There is a bit of dust on the wheel element, but - as I've said - no bigger particles. I'm wondering what's the matter. A while back I bought 8 new wheels from bricklink and they rotate nicely. I've never used them, but with the wheels of those two Santa Fe cars, there seems to be a problem.

Good comparisons! I myself have the ambulance car from the 1980s! But what happened to the white 1x2 brick with the red cross on it? It should normally be between the lights. Did you lose it? And to comment on Rog's opinion: I think the same. That's why I don't buy those new and big sets. CC and so on are lovely and I do want them, but all those big vehicles are just out of place if I add them to my collection of cars from the 80s and 90s.

What are your 3 Most Wanted LEGO Sets of All Time?
legotrainfan replied to G.L.MAN's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Maybe one of the administrators could change the title into "Your three favourite sets: pick wisely" or something similar. This would make the title clearer. I had no idea what I could expect when I clicked on it. Just a suggestion. And here my top three: 4512 Cargo Train. I have this one and chose it because it has all you need to start with 9V trains. 6399 Airport Shuttle (Don't have it.) 6990 Monorail Transport System (Don't have it.) This topic could be divided into three favourite sets chosen from those sets you really own and three favourite sets chosen from sets you don't own. -
