  1. Are those really ads that were created by TLC? Or are they fakes?
  2. 30 euros maybe? But this is just a vague guess. I've got that train but I cannot recall its price. I think I bought it on eBay when it was still in production. So I got it MISB.
  3. Do you use the PF battery box to operate your PF trains - the box that comes with PF train sets anyway - or do you use the rechargeable one? I have recently bought train 60052 but I don't use the battery box. I use the rechargeable one. I don't like taking batteries out and putting them back in all the time. This way I can simply recharge the entire box by just attaching the cable of the charger. In my opinion this procedure is just nicer and less annoying.
  4. According to peeron, the Super Star Destroyer set has old grey bricks. How is that possible? The set was released in 2011 and the two old grey colours were replaced by the new ones a long time ago. Or is it just a mistake in peeron's database?
  5. Well, I was actually thinking of photos of the real LEGO engines. But what you've posted is also nice!
  6. I also have set 60052. To solve that problem I thought about adding my 10133 BNSF engine. Unfortunately, I disassembled it and put it back in its box due to lack of space and I don't really feel the need to assemble it again right at the moment. Has anybody got pictures of the 60052 engine and the BNSF locomotive attached to each other?
  7. I buy parts on BL and through PAB. Certain pieces are cheaper on PAB than on BL and vice versa. Postage isn't so much on PAB so that I sometimes order elements that are more expensive than on BL, but since postage is cheaper, I always think, "So what?" If you cannot find an element on PAB, it is always good to email the customer service and ask for a specific piece and its price. Even though an element is not listed on PAB, you can still get it as long as you can find it in a set that is still in production. I built two extra waggons for my Emerald Night. The prices for the tan window of which I needed several were/are outrageous on BL. So I emailed the customer service and got my tan windows for a much better (i.e. cheaper) price. And when you contact the customer service, postage is also cheaper than on BL.
  8. Taylor Swift - Haunted
  9. I've had nearly broken fingernails (bent fingernails) plus a black and blue sole of foot which I got while jumping up in order to reach the place where an annoying mosquito was sitting. I wanted to kill it. I was barefoot and one of my feet landed on LEGO bricks that were lying on the floor. I cannot remember whether I managed to kill that insect or not.
  10. TLC answered my message saying that they were sorry that I didn't get a confirmation mail. They also said that the order was on its way to my place - I already knew that since I had checked the order status on my VIP account - but that I would get the Exo Suit later because it is on backorder.
  11. I have just found the "order status" list that you have mentioned. I have not yet checked every feature of my VIP account. I didn't know that an order list existed. Well, my order, the order number and all the ordered items are listed. It says "processing". So let's see how long it'll take. I placed the order on Aug. 2nd.
  12. Hi! Just a short time ago I placed an order on S@H. Among the sets I bought there was also the Exo Suit, which was on backorder. Well, I did the usual thing. I paid for the order with my credit card. I had used 100 VIP points (5 euros) to get a discount. Then there was that website displaying your order and giving you your order number. I never write down the order number since you normally get an email some minutes or hours after your purchase anyway. And now the strange thing: I haven't got an email confirming my purchase yet and I haven't got any VIP points for the products I bought! However, the VIP points I used for the order were taken off the total number of points I had. So the 5 euro discount is gone anyway. Is it because the Exo Suit is on backorder? Will I get that confirmation email as soon as it is available again? But that would be a new policy. Normally I always got the sets that were available immediately and got the item that was not available later. I have recently informed TLC about this problem. I am waiting for their reply. Has anything like this happened to you?
  13. 21109 Exo Suit 21110 Research Institute 60052 Cargo Train ...and a free 40109 Mini Cooper Mini Model was added to my order.
  14. I have all 9 too... plus an extra GE. The extra GE is still unopened. I bought the other sets when they were still available on S@H. The only exception is FB, which I bought at a toy shop for 190 euros. It had been discontinued when I decided to buy it. So all my nine modulars were brand new when I bought them. I didn't have to buy a modular that was used. With regard to the discontinued modulars, even the used ones are now quite expensive!
  15. I was just about to start a new thread to ask what the Haunted House looked like as soon as it was turned into a modular building. Thanks for sharing that picture! I'd love to see more pics of that kind. I am sure there are more people who have rebuilt it and use it as a modular building now.
  16. ...in the catalogue I have mentioned Pet Shop cannot be found either. So it will soon be a goner too.
  17. I have just received the LEGO catalogue for this summer. In it you cannot find the Grand Emporium or the Haunted House any more. So get those two sets as fast as possible before they're sold out.
  18. I have just bought Haunted House and Ghostbusters Ecto-1. I think those two sets go well together! And the free ballon cart was automatically added to my order.
  19. I've never seen it this way, even though I have each modular set. But that makes it clear.
  20. I have been wondering why TLC always changes the baseplates you can find in a modular houses set instead of using the same type of baseplate again and again. Here is a short summary of the sets and the baseplates you find in them: Market Street - 2 baseplates, 16x32, dark grey (Yes, for me it is also a modular building!) Café Corner - 2 baseplates, 16x32, green Green Grocer - 2 baseplates, 16x32, green Fire Brigade - 2 baseplates, 16x32, dark grey Grand Emporium - 1 baseplate, 32x32, tan Pet Shop - 2 baseplates, 16x32, green Town Hall - 1 baseplate, 32x32, tan Palace Cinema - 1 baseplate, 32x32, red Parisian Restaurant - 1 baseplate, 32x32, light grey Of course, there is a point in using two 16x32 baseplates for Pet Shop and Market Street since you can detach the two parts of the buildings from each other. As for the other houses, I do not kow why only sometimes a 32x32 baseplate is used. The different colours of the basepates in the sets (green, grey, tan, red) surprise me. The colour red for a baseplate (Palace Cinema) even strikes me as odd.
  21. Yes, using Google Chrome seems to be the easiest way to circumnavigate that problem. Thanks, folks! Gatanui, thanks for answering my pm and telling me how and where to switch off the spelling checker!
  22. I'm also interested in how much it costs in Europe... and in its precise release date. It's quite a nice set. I simply like the way it looks and the choice of colours isn't bad at all either. It may not be a modular but it will definitely look nice in a LEGO city.
  23. I'm just using Google Chrome (for comparison's sake). Here it seems to work and I can quote. Edit: Using Google Chrome, I've just quoted another user without any problems.
  24. Yes, I use Internet Explorer. Thanks to both of you for your comments.
  25. Maybe someone among you can help me. I have a new computer and use Windows 7. When I read someone's post, I would sometimes like to quote it. I click on "Quote" but it doesn't work. There is no quoted text. I have no idea why. Since I am talking about computer problems, I feel tempted to add one more annoying thing: I live in Austria, where German is spoken. And whenever I write something on this forum, nearly everything is underlined read. Words are suddenly capitalised. The same happens when I write English mails. The German error correction pogramme works annoyingly well, but I have no idea how to change it or switch it off. I use Office 2007, by the way.
